- Hey my lovelies
The day has finally come! The Rockness Monster ate her first rock trail !
Can’t wait to get more seattime in her, getting to know her inside and out!
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did!
Thank you for watching and catch you soon 🤟🏻

Nessie is a thoroughbred she just wants you to let out the reigns, sounds sooooo healthy
Nice trip Holly if I had to make a guess I would say around 27 times. Glad your back is doing better just don't try and push it too hard. Very nice to see you so happy.
Commendable how you get this much footage solo!
Sorting out any race vehicle is tedious ordeal.
You're on the path to success!
That looked like a fun day! Nessie seems very capable, and of course you are too. Good to see you out on the Mountain! Yes, you need an on-call videographer.
Well January 2nd I'm in for back surgery 😮 so I'll be eagerly awaiting your post during recovery keep on doing what you do best smile from ear tor ear while behind the wheel. God bless❤
I hope you have a successful surgery & please leave a comment with an update, David. I will be keeping an eye out for it! 😀🤙🏻
@@MischiefMakerTV 😊 thank you
Ok, my guess is 42 times in and out.
Nessie is looking great. When you were on the wife and track with her i just pictured her going "mom, mom, mom! Push the pedal down! I want to run! "
Great seeing you getting some seat time on the rocks. In no time it will be 2nd nature to crawl Nessie
Love seeing you back behind the wheel killing it! Great video!
Happy you had a great day! You've worked so hard for it! Best wishes and enjoy your getaway to California.
It amazes me how portly these four door JKs and JLs are coming it at. Built them up with 40's and 42's, and they are usually between 7000 and 7500 pounds! My CJ is built very much like Nessie and weighs 4800, which I thought was a bit on the heavy side but it works great! I'm really happy to hear your back is feeling good, Hollie. And I'm guessing you crawled in and out of your rig 28 times to capture those awesome shots. 😁
The 35 gallon fuel cell and spare are big contributors & not too bad considering all the tube, the added unsprung weight and the fact that the rig started at roughly 3900# stock
I couldn't even imagine how many times you got in and out of the Rock Ness Monster 👾 to film the video. I've watched the KOH races and they fly/slither through through the rocks. Gotta be on the skinny pedal. Just being a armchair 4wheeler from eastern Oregon. We get rain, snow, mud etc. What we get is what we deal with. Thanks for the great videos.
Nessie sounds awesome and she is a rock climbing mofo!!!! Taking that trail much faster and she right there with you leading the way!!!
That’s exactly what she was trying to tell me. She does not want me driving with 2 feet. She wants to push her way through/up/over everything 😂
I like the variety of shots! That was lots of work. Watching from the top of Nessie and seeing the shadows was different but a good shot, for limited periods. Maybe, if you find yourself shooting alone again, mounting a camera on the grill could get some awesome shots.
I will say it again, reclining your seat ever so slightly will help your back immensely. The more vertical you sit, the harder it is on your spine (it makes your spine absorb the bumps instead of the rest of your torso. Just try 10 degrees. That would also get your arms closer to the optimum distance for reaction time. Today you were driving a race machine. RACING SCHOOL is where I was first introduced to setting the proper distances and angles for one's seat.
I have seriously hurt my back while driving before (5.5 months of physio all morning, every weekday morning). Because I use the set up principles I was taught in race school, I never had an issue with my back again, for more than 20 years. Age is catching up with me now. I am just hoping to help you PRESERVE your back as long as possible.
If you don't believe my advice is accurate, speak with a specialist: a physiotherapist, or even better, a kinesiologist. A back injury can END your racing career.

I’ll guess one dozen times. I really like that lake. It looks like a jewel in the middle of a desert.
37 times, but we appreaciate it for a great video. Glad you see you back to your self and on the trail again.
I am curious about the gearing difference. Tire size, transmission, suspension travel, transfer case, axles. She looks absolutely gorgeous, fantastic...
Side note, your passion, smile, attitude is so positive and amazing. Thank you for being you.
Massive gearing difference. Nessie’s crawl ratio in 64:1 and MischiefMaker’s crawl ratio is 96:1.
MischiefMaker has a stock JK 5 speed auto transmission (W5A580) and v6 motor (3.6L pentastar). He sits on 42” sticky tires and 35-spline Dana60 front and Dana80 rear axles geared at 5.38. His transfer case is geared at 5:1. The suspension has 12” front and 14” rear travel.
Nessie has a 6 speed auto transmission (6L80e) and v8 motor (6.2L LS3). She sits on 37” DOT tires and 35-spline Dana60 front and 40-spline Dana60 rear axles geared at 5.38. Her transfer case is geared at 3:1. The suspension has 16” front and 16” rear travel.
LOOKS LIKE WALTER IS A ONE MAN PITCREW. YOU SURE KEEP HIM HOPPING. MUCH LOVE TO YOU GUYS. GOD BLESS.
Lol. Nessie is so cute.
On some of the video it looks like an RC-car 😂
👍👋🇸🇪
In and out 37 times. It's a lot of work and takes up a lot of time when your by yourself. Good job!
That deep muffler sound is very pleasing to the ears. Looks and sounds great. I would say 50-60 times setting up. Take care of that back.
Come on you built Nessie to run wildly free, trying to make her go slow is like asking a Greyhound to walk after the rabbit during a race, sure it can be done but she won't be happy.
Nessie needs to be free let her run. But you both did good out there. 😊😊😊😊
I think my next time out will be Friday and I’m going to ‘listen’ to her and try to let the car move at its natural/desired pace (she’s just so rowdy! 😅)
You really need to get someone to start filming for you cuz you should not be wheeling alone in case something happens
I agree never wheel alone
Holly, why r u wheeling alone? We all know that is a no no...
After your injury ( even though you are healing well ) it might not take much to aggravate it and could become a bad situation for you and none of us want to see that happen . Please take someone with you from now on... BTW GREAT VIDEO , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW BUILD VIDEOS ( when will we see more on that? )
Yes Holly, never wheel alone! I can't imagine that Matt or Paul would have said NO if you would have asked them to go along!
MM is a crawler Nessy is a runner, a few more of this type of outing and you'll figure out what she wants good to see you back in a driver seat
Hmm, maybe do a time run on a trail of your choice with MM, then do a benchmark run on said same trail in Nessie. Keep running time trials to get used to the speed on the rocks, set a goal of 1/2 the time maybe, that way you keep your foot on the throttle. Just a thought. 17 is my guess, who was running the drone though when you were driving is my question haha 😄
14 is my guess lol. Seat time seat time seat time in Nessie the more you do the better it will be. Glad your back is good Hollie.
AAAAAHHHHHHH! She's so COOOOOOOOL.
You got in and out of her more times than I would have. My old bones don't allow me to do much of that. The two jeeps are polar opposites. One has gears and one is pure horse power.
I loved watching you crawl Nessie, but wondered just how quickly you could RUN Double Sammy. 😂 treat it like you would one of the KOH trails.
Planning on doing that soon and I can’t wait
It’s about time! 🙌🙌 so glad you are Wheelin Nessie!!
I would appreciate you having a race collar or hanz device as part of your experimental activity! We don't need you to be unable to function!!!! We love our Holly!
Lil’ Miss Nessie, did her thing, way too generous Nessie!!!!
I'm gonna guess around 15 times you got in/out. Probably more than that, but what the heck. Thank you for taking us along on the ride. She looks like she rides really smooth.
Nessie is a Beautiful rig love the dragon, she looks like she rode real good .... I would say you got in an out about 30 times
So glad your doing well, it just take time and a lot of care, you and Walter are both amazing!!! Keep going and enjoy every day
A hell of a lot of times gettin in n’ out of nessie!
Good job. Thank you 😊
Switching between the view out the front and the drone's "follow me" footage is exactly what I want to see. No need to get out and set up stationary camera shots. Do you have a 360 degree camera? Those give you incredible options while editing. It looked like Nessie was just floating right over those obstacles.
👍 You and Nessie rock Holly! I think that you got in and out 22 times! Thanks for taking us long Lovey Lady!
Thats a tough injury to come back from, hopefully you get fully back to normal!
Great to see you driving again in Nessie. I’m thinking that you got in and out of the vehicle 43 times to set up cameras because we never see all the footage.

I'm REALLY digging the recent videos of the fixes and building of Nessi 🤘😁
Great footage and outing, but a big no no, out on trails alone and on basically Nessies maiden voyage. Good job to you both.
Thank You for the Views & crawling!
Love the tribute to Jessi. I'm guessing you got out 100 times!
Wish i lived closer! You already know i would walk that entire trail to get the shots!
That’s so kind, I appreciate you saying that! ☺️💙
Holly you got 2 mean kids there what I mean by that is Mischief Maker and Ness love you guys
glad your better. looking forward to new contenr
She is a runner. Bon baby her.
I was just thinking how much of a pain that long drive shot must have been to set up and there you were sitting by the rig saying you needed a break😂 I was so ready for you to let Nessie eat on the sand out, but alas, you make more mature decisions than I would😢
She is a beast in the sand. I ripped her through the dunes - or I thought I did them Matt got in and made me look like a grandma 🤣🤣 That dude knows how to drive in the sand!!
@@MischiefMakerTV you looked shook going 5mph🤣🤣🤣
You need to get both Nessie & MM through Prichett Canyon IMHO; they both look like rigs that could make it.
19 times getting out of Nessie! Fun times.
Hey Hollie , where Nessie lacks in length , tire size she needs you to mash the throttle . Her power will push you through the differences from mischeif maker
Yes I know my thoracic veritabre has been healed for many years it is the muscles and tissues either side of the of the broken bone that caused the pain issues being all locked up. So remember a good chiropractor is good for that and proper alignment. Nessies doing fine even tho your nursing her along lovely and sweet we know Nessy is a ripper.
Music was nice, like to hear sound of the engine
Some of the Views: Priceless
i would like to see Caitlen wealing Rocknessy
amazing video....
When I remembered you had been injured it was once I saw you seated next to the car talking about it, to show I have high hopes to hearing you say we should not worry I forgot you ever got in that
There are cameras that will track the movement of the user, who holds a transmitter,. They are used on tripods for surfers at the beach or horse people working in a round pen.
Wouldn't it be cool if someone developed a Drone that could be flown and landed ahead on the trail that would track the vehicle as it approaches and departs, and then returns itself to the vehicle?
Awesome! 18 times! 🤣
Great video and great job with the wheeling but next time you take it out and let it eat speed run God bless from GA stay safe
Sped runs in high gear are what she does best. I love taking her out on the dunes. This type of rock trail isn’t really what she was built for…she handles it absolutely fine, but ideally she will be pushing her way through Hammer trails filled with loose rock at 20mph!
937, that sounds like a reasonable guess
Blows my mind your wheeling by your self and setting up cameras drones ect. Shouldn’t be wheeling by your self but great job Holly !
Everything looked good out there. Have you thought about getting a drone? Most of them now can fly above you and follow you as you wheel. You could even fly it ahead of you and film as you drive by.
She was using a drone I guess you didn't see it Walter uses it a lot
@@MarkoMygun no I didn't see her using a drone. My bad.
@@jk_wrangler13You wouldn't see HER using the drone but you saw the shots of Nessie rolling along from an elevated distance. Those were the drone shots.
if ur in the sand or water u should cap off the sliders or they will fill up with stuff over time
30x can't wait to see you in California sunnext Baja
I agree that you need a videographer along, for so many reasons.
We are planning a trip to Sand Hollow from Oregon in 2024. Are their trail maps available ? We aren’t rock crawlers, but would like to enjoy the area in our YJ. Not all the tire tracks I saw looked like they were crawlers.
Love your channel!
OnxOffroad had the state park mapped pretty well. Super easy to use
Trying to crawl with Nessie's gearing is probably reminiscent crawling MM when it was stock. My official guess is that you had to get out eleventeenth times to film your excursion🤓
Her crawl ratio is 64:1 thanks to 6L80e. The gearing and the horsepower in combination makes her a bit unruly (especially with manual brakes 😬). She wants to move forward faster than I was letting her - due to my inexperience with this rig.
Next time out, I will listen and give her what she wants…skinny pedal 😈
I was going to guess 42, but that's already taken. It is the universal answer (Dr. Who)...
Love this! Always great videos! Do you mind sharing what drone you use?!
You are reminding me of my dad's old buddy Mickey Thompson. He broke his back and was told he would never walk again 3 different occasions. After a while his wife Trudy would cut his body
cast off and he would climb back into his desert race car.
Question: Aside from the hassle of connection to climb in and out and the lack of dust...is there any other particular reason to not connect your pumper hose to your helmet? I crave the fresh air in my pumper helmet. Even if its not dusty.
"How many times did I get out to set up cameras?" 2-many.😮
Dexcom? I’m loving the G7!
I think you should take Nessie to the sand chute.
Now that will be fun
I bet Nessie would own that hill.
I'm not an expert just curious what the tube on the side of the helmet is for and thanks for the content u put out amazing job
Fly the drone to an observation point and land and just use the camera then to the next point and land ect.
Hey! Good morning Holly!!
Good morning! 🌞
Hello love.
🤜🏽💥🤛🏽🤘🏾👍🏽
I'd say 12 at least .
💖⚘🙏🏽🤙🏾✌🏽
Take care.
💓🤗😘😊😎🙋🏽♂️
And my brother claims his 2010 wrangler at 4400 is lighter than my 98 grand cherokee at 3800, which contributes to us both getting the same mpg, he has the 3.6 pentastar and I've the 5.2 magnum
A Stanley?!? You're a real Utah woman now.
It’s a Utah right off passage
I guess you got out of Nessie one too many times lol
32 times that you got in and out.
I was expecting a "speed wheelin" video because you were taking Nessie out.
You took Nessie out with a Mischief Maker mindset and wheeled her with that mindset.
14 minutes into the video thus far.
👍❤️
👍
Looks like Nessie is doing nine as are you Holly. You'll get the hang of it with Nessie just as you did with MischiefMaker. You just have to keep it straight and remember which one you are driving when in them.
Definitely! Nessie doesn’t give me much choice though. In 4low (even with a crawl ratio that’s half of MM), those 500 horses easily push past her manual brakes. I really might need to consider hydro boost 😅
I think you need a BIGGER trailer!😜
There’s only 2 types of trucks and 2 types of trailers owners. Those that ‘have enough’ truck and trailer and those who ‘don’t have enough’ truck and trailer. Walter likes to make sure we always have enough of both 🤣
Get Trevor 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nessie just wanted to get in there and go! 58 times in and out!
I think I know a guy who can record! 😜 I’d guess you were in and out 20+ times!
Coming to Cali? ❤
You need to find a shock tuner and get that rig dialed in. All of this is not helping you get up to speed for KOH. You need to finding the weak parts of the rig so you can beef those areas up. If not you won't complete a lap at KOH just like last year. Get your head in the game girl!!!
😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😎
What size tires does this truck have on it today its really hard to guess it has such a wide stance So I guess 37s and you race 4800 maybe.
Keep those harness straps tight
I was really hoping to see Walter drive MM with u on the trails .......I'm disappointed
Hey Walter y didn't u come along with MM
Unfortunately that will never happen. Walter cannot drive MischiefMaker. Maybe one day when we have a rig that is a full size truck he can join, but that won’t be for some time.
We had plans for friends to join us and he would ride passenger in their rig (uncomfortably) OR have them drive MM and he could ride passenger in his usual spot, but they were unable to join - so we did what had to be done 😊
@@MischiefMakerTV I've seen and heard the reason for his rig not being built but it really would be cool to see Walter climbing some rocks ....somehow I think he might feel wat u feel cause he's usually kinda scared on some trips 😂☺
Take both rigs to Moab and try critchet canyon...... but make sure call rory to go with u..
Would be interesting to see how they perform n which performs better
Pritchett is no problem for MM. we go to Moab for the views, not the challenge. I’m not sure I’d enjoy that specific trail as much in Nessie. Moab ledges in general would be less fun for me personally in a shorter wheelbase rig like Nessie and I’d be willing to bet that MM would be the superior rig for almost every recreational wheeling spot in the US - Far from ideal, but certainly preferable to Nessie - but that is why I’m building a buggy that is somewhere in between the 2.
Realistically, Nessie is really best for open desert, running at a faster pace through rock trails very similar to what’s found in Johnson Valley and short course racing.
@@MischiefMakerTV that's true nessie is for high speed MM is for crawling .... the buggy would be intentionally when its done .... hope MM doesn't get jealous 😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@terrancegrant5573 I think multiple rigs are fine as long as they all have a specific purpose. Once I am acquainted with Nessie, she will only ever really see race courses. MM will probably spend the rest of his days exploring Utah, California, Nevada, Arizona and NM. The buggy will see places like Kentucky, Tennessee, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas.
They each have their ‘lane’ and I’ll make sure they stay there 😉
Ill go with 20 times in and out
32 times getting out to put cameras out lol
You no its a No No to wheel solo...
You got in and out of Nessie approximately......a whole bunch.....
I would have loved to see you run Nessie in the sand harder but you and Nessie did great.
