it’s been 25 years since I spent 2 peaceful weeks listening and sitting with our beautiful teacher (Thay) and walking in meditation with him and the monks and nuns of Plum Village. This short video is a gift. Thank you for this beautiful film and music.
Thank you Thich Nhat Hahn for BEing 🙏🏼🧘🏼‍♀️

One of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. I saw this great HUMBLE soul, Thich Nhat Hanh once at Berkeley community theater in the 1980's. His beautiful holiness permeated everything. What I recall that he said that night was that we need to expand our hearts to include the entire Universe. Deep bow to this wonderful saint.

This is a wonderful alternate version of the Great Bell Chant (also on UA-cam). When we feel the intrusions of the world's darker souls pressing in on us it is good to come here for renewal and rededication. Here we can find reassurance that there are others like us who are living in universal kindness, sharing generously with others. Let us all work together to keep the smile alive. // At the end of the Bell Chant there was an unexpected musical passage that was beautiful. I think it is "Forest Journey" from the CD Autumn Stillness by Gary Malkin.

The Vietnamese Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hahn, invites the bell to sound with these words:
"May the sound of the bell penetrate deep into the cosmos. Even in the darkest spots living beings are able to hear it clearly. So that all suffering in them cease. Understanding comes to their heart, and they transcend the path of sorrow and death."
"The universal dharma door is already open; the sound of the rising tide is already heard clearly. The miracle happens. A beautiful child appears in the heart of the lotus flower. One single drop of this compassionate water is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers."
"Listening to the bell I feel the afflictions in me dissolve. My mind is calm, my body relaxed. A smile is born on my lips. Following the sound of the bell, my breath brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness. In the garden of my heart, the flowers of peace bloom beautifully." ~ ThichNhat Hanh.
