A superb talk. Touches on so many cutting edge use cases between grid batteries and VPP and is grounded in real experience running a profitable AI energy trading desk.
This may have legs when a fully automated vehicle ( robotaxi) can commute itself to charge at an economical location but until then do you really expect EV owners to drive multiple miles so they can sit for an hour to charge their cars at an unexpected location, then drive home, consuming that charge? The principle is wonderful but the practice is not realistic. For now. Bi directional capability in the car and from the charge point are some way away. Ask Tesla why they do not yet provide this? Any plans for the UK?
Tesla do provide it lol. As do multiple other companies. No robotaxi needed. And why do they not need to charge at home? A level 2 charger + an electrical panel upgrade maybe adds 8 grand at most, and basically gives you free charging at worst.
Good content, horrible presentation. Would have been better as a text article. Too much upspeak, and speaking in short, quick bursts. Oh, and ridiculously bad audio quality. Blehhh.
