They kinda hinted at Colin’s sexuality in the last season with the banter dating app and then Colin saying like grinder the foreshadowing is great in this show you just have to look out for it
There was a hint about Colin in 2x03, not sure if you guys remember. Keleey tells the team about the new app Bantr. Zoreaux asks how to spell it and she says B-A-N-T-R. Colin is standing there and says, like grindr? Just a little foreshadowing to this storyline.
The scene with all the guys on the team carrying on about how Zara transcends orientation and everyone finds him sexy, and Colin bursting out jokingly that they've convinced him, he'll have sex with Zava reminded me of so many times in my teens when I was desperately trying to fit in among my straight friends, forever hide that I was gay, and match their banter about who was and wasn't sexy (and hope I was getting it right)... I roll my eyes at my young self now (I didn't do the pretense all that well), but it felt very real and necessary then, and that scene felt very true to life.
I have always viewed Trent's reaction to seeing Colin as being "Huh. That's surprising. Oh well, whatever". As in he didn't expect it, but doesn't have a problem with it.
The song playing during the montage where Zava is winning Richmond games is called "Prisencolinensinainciusol" Y'all should look it up. It's an Italian song where all the lyrics are fake, american sounding words.
I find it really cool that Colin's gay in the show cuz an (out) gay man hasn't really happened in the premier league. As far as I know there have been a couple guys who came out but only after they retired and with the amount of toxicity and toxic masculinity in the football world it could very well end someone's career, so for Ted Lasso, making Colin gay is quite a cool statement and might actually help some progress :)
Seriously. He would have been required to take an ethics course to receive his degree and later license. The class and corresponding ethics manual absolutely cover the rules of therapist/client relationships. Additionally any fellow therapists he works with or knows, who know about the relationship until the ethical guidelines should report him. Best case scenario for him might be a mark on his license and the requirement to end the relationship. However, he could indeed lose his license until the right circumstances.
@@hopeverlasting yeah I know he knew better but still did it. Wish they had shown him get in trouble for it at some point. Even as a massage therapist we had to take ethics courses.
I dont have a huge problem with the marriagw counselor and Ted's wife. Its not like this was happening while they were seeing him. They stopped seeing him before he left. He has been with the team for half a season, then the off season, then another full season, another off season. Its been at least a year and a half since theyve been divorced. And it seems like his exes relationship with Dr. Jake is relatively new. His son just recently mentioned it for the first time, and Jake hasn't been at the house enough to notice she still has a landline on the kitchen counter.
@@frozenharold I think the issue is we don't know when it started, and we don't know that he didn't manipulate the relationship into ending for his own benefit. As he talks about it in season 1, Michelle had been seeing him individually before going to him for couple's therapy. With couple's counseling, you want a neutral third party. The rub, Ted is the kind of guy that would never report him for unethical behavior. He's not the take revenge or be petty kind of guy. And we know Michelle wouldn't as she is dating him... so he gets away with it.
22:21 it’s unethical for therapists, at least in Texas, to date clients until 5 years have passed since ending services. I’m a therapist and it gave me extra Ick
watched this ep with my brothers and they told me I talk about Ibrahimovich the same way Dani talks about Zava so I think the show did a very good job 👍🏾 10/10, I feel represented 😂
I do like that Jamie sees through Java's bs from the start. Zava is the arrogant douche that Jamie might have been had he not had Ted's influence on him so early on in his career. Game recognize game, and in this case, reformed jerk recognize jerk. And you can see from the start how Zava sucks all the air out of the room. Even when Sam just wanted to talk about his new restaurant, it was all about Zava. Jamie already sees how the entire team's identity is becoming consumed by the Zava of it all. But no one wants to listen because they're on a win streak and they're not acknowledging how much Jamie has grown as a leader.
@@user-cx1sx9wp5r I meant if he is filled with gold, he can't be an empty vessel - he was speaking in present tense. And you don't mold rock - you can carve it but ... in any case, Zava is full of something other than gold, if you get my drift.
@@user-cx1sx9wp5r He said he is an empty vessel, *filled with gold* . he can't be empty and filled at the same time. Rocks (hard materials) are carved, not molded. It's softer materials (like clay) that are molded.
The "pre Madonna" joke is a little bad to me since in season 01 at the gala dinner, Roy said to Ted that Jamie was a "little bitch prima donna" and then Ted asks what Roy used to be when he was Jamie's age, and he says "little bitch prima donna" with a ironic smile. So in 2 years Roy just forgot the expression? I kinda expected more from the writters.
@@hcroussette Yeah it's just a minor detail that I only noticed when I was rewatching the series after s03. At that scene I was like "Wait a minute..." hahahahaha
Dr. Jacob was Ted's therapist and then became their couple's therapist who encouraged Ted's wife to separate from Ted... and then started dating Ted's wife after the divorce. Super shitty of her and very unethical of him.
@pml-fx2mf Jesus, it's you again. Who let kindergarten out early? The relevant point was that he was supposed to be an impartial voice in their marriage and he used his position to drive a wedge between them for his own benefit.

yea but Ted mentions that the counsellor they saw, Michelle was already seeing alone and it felt like it was a bit poised against him from the start. I think I read somewhere that if you start couple counselling it should be with a neutral party. Also, in that relationship, he has a crazy inside track so I dont know if you would ever have a balance in that relationship. I think in general therapists shouldnt date patients even more so than a physical doctor.
@@TheLegendK1ller maybe. But if they don't actually start to have a relationship until we'll past a year after they are divorced, that makes a difference.

Did Zuff just ask “Who is Julie Andrews?”
You guys should watch a compilation of Zlatan-goals and you see his goals were also that spectactular and similar

Favorite Julie Andrews movie - Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967).
It seems that almost all male homosexual footballers come out AFTER retirement due to the culture in the lockerroom.
