- Hello Arlo friends!! I hope you enjoy this channel which is a snapshot of my life with my giant and beautiful Borzoi Dog, Arlo. Angie Rival and Arlo the Borzoi dog have many adventures my videos are typically a gentle and relaxing walk in the pretty Australian bushland. Make a nice cup of tea, or whatever you prefer to drink, put your feet up and enjoy this chilled out channel.. Arlo is a GIANT breed dog, he is a Purebred Borzoi, aka Russian Wolfhound. He is a Sighthound. He has a fine pedigree; however, he is not for show. Arlo and I spend our time as 'bush bashing river rats'. We have fun with lots of other dogs and sometimes fascinating creatures. We live in Southeastern NSW in Australia and in this area, we experience all seasons.. hot summers, sub zero nights in Winter and beautiful crisp Spring and Autumn days.. He's having fun going on a Borzabout. Since it snowed here last week, my 2 brought every single toy outside. It was hard work getting them back in. Cheers!

I love the breed and would love to own one someday! I know they aren't generally trusted off leash, does Arlo have a lower prey drive? If not, I'd love to hear more about how you choose good places for off leash time and your journey with recall.
Hi Abbey, I take Arlo to areas that are sort of 'bushed in' or flanked by a river. He's now more interested in chasing Kangaroos. however whilst in the scrub he doesn't bother chasing them for long.. probably only 30 seconds maximum. If I let him off leash on the golf course (which I don't do in Summer) he would have more paddock to take chase. So I keep him to areas that are a lot safer for him. He chases rabbits and would chase cats, but he's always on leash when we come across a cat.. I've done some videos on training, 'the reality of owning a giant dog' series. He's pretty good with recall, 90% of the time.. cheers!!
