Hey. I am from Denmark and have heard 3 of your vidios .. Was very happy with the vidio where you tried to explain "chromatic" scale. and "Major" scale and how they were built up .. Unfortunately it went very strongly ... And you speak very very quickly ... Ha.ha. I don't understand it all at that speed .. I just found my Alto saxophone after pausing for a year. So your vidios are good at understanding some theory. Maybe you have explained it ,,,,, but what to use the scales for ..? Do you use the scales for particular piece of music ..? and another scale for another piece of music. ?? It might not be so boring to practice if one were to use it in a piece of music one would learn.
Waooooo. I'm glad the lessons will be of benefit to you. In our next class which is Tuesday (Tommorow), I will explain scales and how to master them using Scale Permutations. Once that is perfected, I will go ahead to explain which perticular kind of music can you use each scale and why. When we come to a lecture of Scalar and Modal improvisation later, using the scale will be more practical than theoretical. But for now, the kind of scale you will use is determined by the notes of that song. If all the notes are found in a scale, then you use that scale to solo it. Also the chord progression of a music will tell you the scale to use because you will discover that the notes of that scale match with the chord notes. As you continue to follow our class weekly, I can assure you that you will get it perfected. Thank you.
