Why didn’t you also list the one ring that many times? There were 5 Nadu decks out of top 8 but 7 out of the top 8 decks are playing the one ring. I won’t say the one ring is an interesting card to interact with in that sense.
Their excuse was that there's too many cases to consider when designing a card. But that's almost as if there's a great argument in favor of stopping Product Fatigue. They're printing too much to boost short term quarterly gains that it's causing card power and mistakes to inflate exponentially.

They definitely tested Nadu and it is designed with every intention to be a format warping card. There's no way you put a weird clause like "twice each turn" in there, unless it went through quite a bit of testing. They wanted to create a buzzcard that would define the format and they pushed it far enough that they succeeded... So... Good job! You did it! Great format! 🥱
I'm typically an ardent anti-ban (Get Gud instead) person, but I think you have to emergency ban Nadu. Yagmoth-Cauldron Toolbox was already very good, Nadu toolbox not only takes it to another level it might be the most efficient (and consistent) combo deck I have seen in Modern in a very long time.

For those wondering about the cheating allegations In the quarter finals of ptmh3 Simon Nielsen was targeting Javier Dominguez with Sun Cleanser while Javier was under the effect of TOR. This happened in a key situation that lead to Simon winning the game and then the round and after Simon exiled TOR with Haywire Mite. Personally I don’t think it was intentional in anyway we all have misplays even at the highest level
It is also not cheating. It is a missed trigger on Javiers part. He is responsible for remembering his own triggered abilities. If Javier remembers his protection trigger his opponent just cast a 2 mana 1/4 that literally did nothing.

That situation with Javier getting targeted by the sun cleanser would be ruled as a missed trigger on Javiers part. I have had this same thing happen to me but I was targeted with a Hedron Crab trigger and the judge told me It would be a missed trigger on the one rings protection. So no nobody cheated Javier forgot his own trigger and he is responsible for that. Is it unfortunate, yes. I would have loved to see Jeskai control go deeper into the top 8.

The fact that something like this can happen in such a high stakes tournament like this shows MAJOR flaws in competitive magic. The fact that something like this can happen, and the judges excuse is that its a "missed trigger" is a pretty bad look for the competitive scene.

Very disappointing PT. There were numerous questionable plays by Simon Nielsen that were caught on camera this weekend, which should have garnered a judge getting involved.

@@williamw8590 there were multiple times he tried to bully his opponent during play, and in that light it makes the play against Javier very sketchy/motivated......Numerous times he shuffled his own deck off endurance or a fetchland, and very rarely he would offer his deck to his opponent for cut. Instead, he would try to push the pace of the match and divert attention away from his opponent actually shuffling his deck/etc. Just rewatch the match against Javier. I really just wish there was more footage of this scumbag this weekend.

@@ConstpatedKire broken cards exist from the dawn of time, they get printed and if they too strong, they get banned, I don't think that's a pattern that really can be avoided in a TCG; in regards to the cheating/judges question my understanding is that if a player forgets to announce a trigger that trigger simply doesn't happen and the other player can behave as so, so I don't think the judges did nothing wrong, they would have if they told Javier Dominguez about his One Ring trigger practically giving him an advantage

Basically in qf Javier Dominguez had one ring protection and Simon cast suncleanser which more or less locks Javier out but it targets him so he shouldn't have been able to. If he had played correctly Javier would have had his mana open on the next turn responded and have a 99% of winning. Super fucked up mainly on the judge end with multiple watching such an important match without noticing

everyone complaining about Nadu, Modern, the meta, MH3, the coverage, Simon Nielsen, the judges,cheating etc. can you guys just complain or do you like, have something constructive to say? plus, none forces to follow and support something you don't like
Saw no one complain about mh3 in general, set is awesome. On the other hand nadu being the top 4 and the judges\gameplay were extremely disappointing.
@@ConstpatedKire broken cards exist from the dawn of time, they get printed and if they too strong, they get banned, I don't think that's a pattern that really can be avoided in a TCG; in regards to the cheating/judges question my understanding is that if a player forgets to announce a trigger that trigger simply doesn't happen and the other player can behave as so, so I don't think the judges did nothing wrong, they would have if they told Javier Dominguez about his One Ring trigger practically giving him an advantage
@@savinobalducci6148 They were quick to point out Nielsen's forgotten draw step though. My point is the gameplay as an experience was awful regardless of judges being there or not

@ASCP_Certified he didn't cheat in the sense I don't think he knew he was cheating as he's a very honest player with no cheating background and the card is new and weird. Basically in qf Javier Dominguez had one ring protection and Simon cast suncleanser which more or less locks Javier out but it targets him so he shouldn't have been able to. If he had played correctly Javier would have had his mana open on the next turn responded and have a 99% of winning. Super fucked up mainly on the judge end with multiple watching such an important match without noticing

@@ASCP_Certified1/8 games he targeted the energy deck player while one ring protection was on. The creature he did it with prevent the player to have energy counter and his opponent had 2 clear the skies that use energy to wrath the board...
@@mtgkid0205well the biggest part that suggests cheating was the fact he deliberately chose to not attack.
It wasn’t deliberate “cheating” but it came across like one of those players constantly trying to take advantage of opponents lack of attention/rules knowledge.

As someone new to magic, I hate watching games with real cards. It’s part of the reason I never tried magic until recently. It’s just so boring and impossible to understand what’s happening. Go back to using arena, I promise you that you’ll get more new fans.
