The entrance to the park and car park is on the left just as you exit the roundabout on the A38 Northbound.
The car park has a small charge. It is a large car park with plenty of room.
There are also 4 charging points for electric vehicles.
The car park at the other side of the park is free for one hour.
So fast runners may be able to park for free.
To get to the start, walk to the opposite end of the car park from where you came in.
There is a path to the right of the tennis courts and this leads to the start.
It is around 100m from the car park and at the start, there is the cafe (The Orangery) and in the courtyard there are toilets.
The toilets were clean.
The start is on the opposite side of the courtyard, but the first timers briefing happens on the grass in front of the Orangery cafe.
Once the RD has done his briefing (Which is where the finish is), it is a very short walk to the start.
The course is tarmac path and limestone paths.
It is a two clockwise lap course with one small incline. (They refer to it as cardiac hill)
One the way down from the top of the hill, there are a few sharp turns that could be tricky when it is wet.
There was also mud on a few of the tight corners, so take care.
Probably just over half is on tarmac and the rest on the limestone paths.
When I was there the limestone paths were muddy in parts and there were puddles.
Once you have finished the parkrun, walk up the steps to the Orangery and the barcode scanners are on the grass.
Outside the Orangery was a table with free water and plastic cups.
The Orangery opens from 9am on a Saturday.
Its another lovely park. touring has opened my eyes to the wonderful parks we have all over the country.
