Thanks so much for this...the dealership here in the Bahamas is charging $350.00 just for ONE key fob... I'll just purchase two online and follow your very helpful instructions.
@@michaelkelton6319 Thanks for the response. I have two working keys fobs and just tried a few times..when I get to the new key fob, the red light stays on, and the new key doesn't work😕
Do the original ones buttons have to work? My original key is the only key I have. It does nothing but start the car. None of the buttons work and it’s not a battery issue. Do I need it to be completely functional to be able to use it in anyway during this process? Please and thanks
You might have a very common dish button problem. If you pop open the key fob and look at the motherboard thing you'll see these silver dish look things that "complete the circuit ", those have a tendency to come lose but you can glue them back or do what I did and tape them in place
We are having the same issue with the silver dish things on the inside. Car starts fine, but it’s nearly impossible lately to get it to lock and unlock…
@@andrestephenson3602 i have a jeep Cherokee 2009. i only had two green circlet boards out of the fob. no battery It worked for me., when your jeep ignition is turn it picks up the code on the Circuit board letting it to start the battery is for the push buttons

don't forget, you need two working key fobs to program the 3rd one. so if you only have one working key fob, you will have to pay the 350 like i did.
