You need to soak your cans in A hot water bath while you're making your tea. It will come out smooth and fast....no mess. I use a teapot and allow to simmer for a few minutes. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

This is almost similar to my mother's except she made her own coconut milk and added nutmeg and a small piece of ginger to the tea; Ginger warms the body I remember how sweet and navideña de house smelled. No eggs since now condense milk does the same job giving the coquito consistency plus if you add eggs, then after 4 days in the fridge it tastes like eggy and then goes bad. No eggs, please. Mr. Ty you did an excellent JOB! And now a warning, if you drink the whole bottle and you will try - you will gain 20 pounds..... No Joke....

Good job, however just a few different tips, instead of water for the tea, use coconut water instead with or without the coconut bits. Also, about a half to 1-teaspoon of vanilla extract depending how much your making. While your bottles are waiting you can add to the bottles, 1- cinnamin stick & a few raisin's to about a shot of rum in the bottle, it adds favor during the 48-hr. fermenting while in the refrig. When served you garness with a little ground nutmeg on the top of the filled glass & injoy! Feliz Navida!

First of all, you are GREAT and I can’t wait to get all the ingredients to make Coquito. My husband makes a bailey’s type recipe that he gives to all at Christmas.....I usually make pumpkin bread, however, after seeing this...I may be making Coquito. I always use Coco Lopez coconut creamer. I put coquito in my coffee. Love it ! I think all coquitos are great. First sips tastes maybe too strong. After that is just slides down 😊 I just made it this afternoon. Why not ? Get fu-led 😊. I use a large whisk
That’s a big batch you made. I usually find the little bites are in the Goya coconut milk. I mix that first very well. NO EGGS !!!
I make it with 16oz of rum For 1 can coco Lopez. 1 evaporated milk. 1 sweetened condensed milk and 1 coconut milk.
Whatever I’m sure your Coquito is delicious!! Happy Holidays
I might try your way and add another coconut milk to stretch it

Could add a lil ginger to the tea. Typically some vanilla extract and nutmeg are also added

Could i use vodka versus the rum? Cant tolerate rum.

Jody Keller honestly I’ve never tried it but I’m sure you could! If you are following my recipe I would say start with only 1 cup of vodka and throughly mix it and try it! Remember you want this to sit for at least 3 days before you drink it and depending on the type of vodka you use it could get REAL POTENT 😂😂😂
