    By far and away the best coach on You Tube! You've helped my understanding of the game more than anybody and I've had one to one's (in person) with other coaches. Can't wait to see your frame against the Rocket, I really hope you get a proper chance at the table to show him what you can do.

    Hi Steve, replied after you did the colour clearance videos to say I have put that in my pre match practice, have added other routines you have shown and with your help I am beating players way and above the level I was at, more confident and way better player, even offered to play my team mates for a pound a frame with the having their full handicap and je off scratch, no takers...... cannot recommend your channel enough to improve anyone's game, cheers mate keep them coming

    Another great vid Steve, love your approach to practice. My only observation is that us humble club players will be lucky to finish a frame with one colour on its spot let alone six!

    • @vxrdrummer
      @vxrdrummer 2 роки тому +2

      Agreed. Since me and my mate have improved a bit lately, we may get 3 colours still on the spots. But the pink will be on the ceiling, the black behind the bar, and the blue will be on a cushion.

    Great content as usual, This is me all over. Being Lazy and just spreading the balls, sometimes not evening feathering like I would in a real match.
    Need to keep telling myself, Practice with purpose!

    Any tips on controlling the pace of the cue ball? I understand that this has a lot to do with the table but I always seem to find that my cue ball is drawn to the cushions as if there are magnets in them. I either hit the cue ball slightly too soft are too hard, either way always stuck under the cushion.

    I'm building a practice routine based on your videos. I use the 3 reds between the black and pink and that is great. I'll add some of these in as well. I always start with an open table though which is a Barry Stark tip. I have been rubbish lately, but even though I can be rubbish in practice, if I then play well in a frame all of a sudden, my game is 20 times better. Potting angles is killing me at the minute though and I am missing a lot I never used to miss, so,I have booked some lessons. But before then I am going to try some ofmyour techniques from your potting angles video. I changed my stance through one of your videos, and I started potting loads, but I think I have now unknowningly moved into a position that nullifies the body position advantage I gained in my stance from your tip. So I have to go back to that video and back to the table. Thank you so much for all your videos.

    Great tutorials Steve.
    Being playing for about 5 years couple times a week. Lucky to make 25-30 once or twice per session.
    Solo play always has me losing the will after an hour. Unstructured and disorganised to be replaced by one of these is the way to go from now on👍

    Good practice routines there Steve ,I like to practice a lot with all the reds spread over the top end of the table with maybe two reds below the blue and try and clear to make a century , it keeps the interest up and you have to play pretty much every shot at some point .It’s amazing how many times you break down in the 70’s as your running out of reds and position becomes harder ,if that happens too many times I spend some time trying to clear the table with just 4 or 5 reds spread anywhere to concentrate on position more .Not managed to clear the whole table yet but have had quite a few tons .

    By the way, what would you recommend for us mere mortals who aren't yet at a level where we can go through these routines without missing many pots? Is it better to replay the shot you messed up or start the whole routine from the beginning? I know Stephen Hendry was a fan of starting all over if he was to miss a single ball but I think that might introduce some unnecessary frustration if you're having an off-day.

    Love watching you videos,I have learned a lot, I have a big favor to ask either you or anyone that could answer. What is the rail height for a snooker table with 2 1/16" balls I have read online someone said 30mm to bottom of rubber where it meets the ball and 39mm to the top, could anyone shed some light if that is correct, please someone help me out, thank you!

I'm now 52 years old, fairly good at the game (been playing 41 years) ... am the defending champion in my country BUT having little back issues that makes it harder to keep my hips away from the swing..... any advice of how i might manage that without restarting my swing?!?! = being too close with my hips has caused me hesitating in my front swing as i can feel i'm not "in the slot" at full backswing. Hope you'll do a hip video ... of a sort .... if possible ;) Thx again....

    @budgiefish 2 роки тому

    Nice, and plenty that shows it all going nicely as a result of plenty of prior practice (you didn't really miss a shot - except nearly blue and that last black which didn't really count - nor be badly out of position) so what do you do when you miss, or run out of position, (like being trapped with no pottable red on the 6 ball break building after cannon from first black pot)?
    I feel like some times every shot is a 'recovery' shot... (i.e. recovery shot needs a recovery shot blah blah LOL)
    Start over? Replace ball and try again? Get frustrated? :) - I now see you've already said both per previous comments, but is the best practice to replace the balls as much in the same position as you can and play the same shot 5-6 times to try to get it right, and then if you get it right, move on, or keep playing it to see how many times you get it right ?

      Straight blues off the spot, with both run through and screw back. The straighter the white goes through or comes back the straighter you are cueing.
      Also just a medium pace white up and down the spots from the brown spot.
      You can also spot the black and play the white from the brown spot and see if you can double kiss the black off the bottom cushion.
