The last edition to visit Malmö in 2013 was the first Eurovision I watched. From the 58th to the 68th in 11 years, I've come full circle. In 2013 it had a replica of the Øresund Bridge which carries a road and railway between Malmö and Copenhagen, so I wonder if they'll bring that back?

My first contest was Düsseldorf 2011 but I mainly wanted to watch it because of our UK entry Blue who had a ton of marketing done for the contest build up, I didn’t really care about much else that year (which probably explains why I ended up skipping 2012) After that I didn’t expect to end up watching Eurovision again, but when the final of the Malmö 2013 contest came on screen one night, the caterpillar poked his head out of the snow and Graham Norton started his commentary I was like “oh I remember watching this 2 years ago, I think I’ll watch it again, why not?” When it hit ‘Swedish Smorgasbord’ I was HOOKED! I’ve been watching the contest every year since then! 2011 may have been my introduction, but 2013 was the year I became a FAN of Eurovision! So to see the contest go back to Malmö again next year is going to be a real nostalgic homecoming! 😆🙌🏻🇬🇧🇸🇪
So...now we will just wait until the next year for the songs!!!

Hehe... as a swede i am not so sure. Stockholm hosted last time 2016 and its different in Malmö. But Stockholm had no choice this time considering fotball and Taylor swift was occuping the arenas there next year. They had planed a temporary stage tho with a eurovition town and euro club. All plans from Stockholm. Malmö had none of those planes but instead is going for budget.
My hopes arent that great even tho i am surten for it to be good i dout it will beet 2016 in terms of impresivness.

Wow! For the third time I´m lucky to enjoy Eurovision in my home town. I still remember 2013 like it was yesterday. I have so many fun memories.
Everywhere you went you could see ESC-fans from all over Europe. I remember the icelandic ESC-club, a large group of people who I saw at Gustav Adolfs torg, a square where the ESC artists performed their songs. And I never forget a young Italian ESC-fan. I took the bus to the Malmö arena where I heard him talking on phone to his family trying to explain to them what the hell he was doing in Malmö, and also trying to explain to them what ESC was. They had obviosly no idea (this was before Måneskin).
Some of you have commented that Malmö is not a safe city. I have lived here for 34 years and can assure you that it´s not worse than any other larger city in Europe.
I greet you all ESC-lovers welcome to my home town! If you have never been here before, yoy will probably be pleasantly surprised.

If going for grandeur should've been Stockholm. If going for anything else it should've been Göteborg, to shake things up/even it out. Not a huge fan of the choice, but still have high hopes for general high Swedish quality. Even if 2016 will be VERY hard to beat.
So disappointed right now... I find it absurd to host Eurovision in a tiny Melodifestivalen semifinal arena in Malmö, and the Melodifestivalen final is always in the huge Friends arena in Solna (close to Stockholm). Or Tele2 arena in Stockholm. We have these huge arenas, but don't use them for Eurovision.
So annoyed that those football teams weren't willing to move their matches for Eurovision...

Friends arena, capacity: 65 000
The Arena is TOO SMALL! This is Eurovision not a Pop Concert! Wish they used Friends Arena or Tele2! Just like UK they used Liverpool which was too small and sold out in 7 minutes! They need GLOBAL INDOOR ARENAS!
Liverpool Arena was perfect...big but not too big...looked great on TV. The bigger UK arenas were fully booked and would be too big. Sorry people missed but that's the same every year. The BBC did outstanding job with only 10 months to prepare, from the stage design to the presenters.
@@LA90598 was still too small, Wembley, o2, Glasgow, Birmingham 9r Manchester had larger and more grand arenas

Loreen gjorde ett fantastiskt jobb 2023, nu är Sverige värd för Eurovision 2024. 50 år sedan deras första vinst med Waterloo av ABBA. Nu har de Loreen som är perfekt. Euphoria var inte av denna värld, men Tattoo kändes som den perfekta förlängningen av det. Hallå Sverige från Kanada!
