The 5 series is made for cruising at 160km/h (100mph). When you're driving one, 100 feels like 50-60, 160 feels like 80-90. Best sedans ever.
Same with the E-class
7 series and s class are for cruising at 300kmh

i've got the G30 530i chipped to 325Hp , last week i was cruising at 185hm/h and asked my girlfriend what we were driving, and she said 120 :D
@@M_773 Yes M760li and s65, but then you have to account that the M5 also cruises at 300, and is the fastest 4 door with comp pack.
I had the pleasure to drive this car for a weekend as b-day gift and have to say my friends and me fell in love with this car, it’s amazing!

may be a luxury sedan to emerging regions but actually things like the E class and 5 series are considered family sedans in certain developed markets.

Got 2 of them. Awesome cars. Strong build, good DNA, german at his best. It's like a good horse you can bet on. The B58 is smooth and like : "relax fella, I got this", with his "335" HP. The zf transmission is the ultimate evolution of an automatic transmission, you almost forget that this is not a twin clutch, and can hold a lot of "extra" power.
The ultimate driving machine...and still.

I drove the car "built in 2019" with 340hp 540i x-drive M ... 3000km in Germany. Of it much highway. Also with M package. The car is really good. Consumes under 10liter / 100km on average (city, motorway, outside villages) Highway 170km / h sometimes a bit faster. The acceleration is good, but before overtaking it shuts down 2x (that takes time, so you have to intervene manually before). Even the semi-autonomous driving is great. Unfortunately, I find the steering in the middle position on highways over 120km / h not very accurate. It seems like there is too much play. Turning on lane assistants will make things a little better. In curves with bumps "waves", one has the impression that the car is rocking. I also drove different 530d, there it is identical. With adaptive dampers it gets a little better. The M brake system is great. Also the HUD. For the seats I would only choose the comfort seats, because the sports seats push the shoulders too far forward. Select seats only with ventilation. The steering wheel could be a bit lower and the window control buttons in the door, about 5cm more forward. The M steering wheel is great. The simple standard sound system is not recommended. In my opinion, the 5 Series is primarily a sporty modern touring sedan and not a sports car. But that's fine too. For the more active fun there is still the Z4.
"The M brake system is great. Also the HUD." You hit the nail. Chassis and especially the brakes are incredibly good. Important for all 5 series >= 530i: You should always order the M sports package. Sport suspension and brakes lift the car to another safety level.

It will be ultra pointless.. the 540 is a business sedan with cool engine not agile 2 door rocket. He compared the 540i with 340i once and the conclusion was if you want a sports sedan get the 3 series.
I think we deserve a comparison between m3 and m550i xdrive :) My opinion is that the 5 is better for the money and overall like a car

I dont know... I have looked for BMW 1-Series cars and I have seen many now. And I really want one, but in every car the knob on the right side of the hand brake (0:35), with that you control the entertaimentsystem has looked soooo much smaler then in your videos about new 2017 models (M140i, M Sport 540i etc...). Maybe the cars I have seen weren't the newest cars (no 2017 models)... Did they make this knob bigger in the 2017 models? Or is it just a optical illusion in your videos?:)
Bubbirock The knob is bigger when you get the professional infotainment system. When you select this option you get a bigger and clearer screen and the selection knob gets bigger.

Speedometer consistently reading higher than readout on windscreen unit. Which is accurate? I've heard overstating MPH is common on BMW. Still want a 540!
Windscreen unit = GPS and its more accurate than the speedometer.

i recently made this decision. Went G30 540i for newer tech/nicer overall car. dont really regret it. yeah 340i probably drives a little better but 5 series feel like top quality luxury.

acceleration looks like mine audi a4 stage 1 2.0 tfsi engine
. did not tried above 210kph however as there are limits to 130kph only. this does not look like 3l engine.
