12 years? This is just another sign of how crappy this city is. There are people who have dropped dead waiting on that list.
@@abef.9085 What does that have to do with a 12 year wait list? These people are low income, generally elderly or have special disability needs.
From someone who lived in the projects as a child in north Philly, prob how full they are at the moment with a lot of people still living there until they move on which normally takes a decade or over that. We were there for 10 or a little less than until we moved out. They may have had to add updates after that for the new tenants which would've taken a little more time. Mind you some of these places probably need more than just updating which will take even longer. It sucks, but it's a realistic amount of time for most people who need pha as a stepping stone. 5 to 10 yrs is that stepping stone for most.
PHA. Translated - Discounted homes for people who will destroy them. The best way to predict the future is look at the past.
I've known people in PHA. And no one's destroyed anything.
@@WALTERBROADDUS I agree. It has helped them tremendously! Not sure of that persons reference
Prayers for all these families in need. To get to a place that’s not even wroth living in. I pray they all find live-able and affordable housing. That’s safe for them and there families.
This will never work
Can I have a free new house? Oh no, wait, I have to work for it
Are you ⬛⬛?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No one's getting anything free. This is rental housing for low income families, elderly and persons for disabilities.
@@silentmajority8365 🧔🏻people are living off it to look at Kensington the walking dead.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just over a year ago a tragic fire broke out in an apartment owned by PHA. If I remember correctly the reporter said "Two sisters in their 30s and six of their eight children perished in the fire. The smoke detectors either didn't work or were disabled." Hopefully PHA will ad inspectors to make sure the units are safe.
Batteries were removed from the smoke detectors
Those women removed their own smoke detectors THATS ON THEM!
@@niakia5607 They get free housing for 30 people and put batteries in the TV remote
Happens to my unit been out since April
Oh look some brand new property for them to destroy my goodness
You gotta be a certain color or illegal
No more Section 8 housing. It has ruined sections of the city especially Castor Gardens. People need to earn and save for a house the old fashioned way. They will appreciate it more and take better care of the properties. People living in these homes that they barely pay for don’t take care of the properties then real tax payers move out
Better move before your property value goes down
diversity not a strength
You do realize of course that the supply of Real Estate that is Affordable is pretty small?
Are these applicants screened? Or can people with criminal backgrounds apply? I'm just wondering if this'll be the grand opening of a new "no-go" zone for the police to avoid.
Seriously
Seriously
Seriously
Seriously
More welfare baby mamas MLK ing the system
Those brand new units they were showcasing would cost hardworking people 300k to 500k to own, and yet they are given away to people who destroy them

They for the immigrants
There is tons of housing in the city that's a century, or more, old. Still, often times, in great shape. None of the garbage built now will last that long.
Project in progress
Glad to see my money is paying for people who don't work to have nicer houses than me that they will destroy
Lady your money please this program is a scam most the people on housing right now is paying more than the program itself they are ripping the people off. No matter your income your rent should not be more than what the program supposed to pay. Why are we helping the program
I desperately need senior housing
Philly reminds me so much of Los Angeles it ain't even funny. 😐
How
same people ruining it🌮🌮🍉🍉
?
That's sad I never knew it was closed smh
If "we" only opened our eyes
They're going to turn them into three story projects, Kensington is bad enough already now they're going to throw fuel on the fire.
When media is doing all but blood sacrifice to "show" that we the people are in a good enough place with a piece like this is chilling to me but hey what do I know
