They’ve made a lot of effort with the facilities, but the excessive paving and lack of trees is not my cup of tea. Seems like this place is catering mostly for caravans, which might explain the paving. I prefer a bit more of a wild feel. I like both the pools though.
We have a caravan so like the paving. Sites 8 and 12 in the Bloekompark campsite have nice trees for shade too. We are fortunate to be able to camp during the week midweekmidweek
Someone recommended this place to me. They said it was very nice but I can't help thinking it looks kind of kak. Sorry. Almost no trees. Caravans surrounded by netting. Paving everywhere. Just a guess... but does it get very windy there?
We have been there about 5 times and never had much wind. I think that when it is gale force in Cape Town it will probably push through there. Once you are on your campsite it is pretty nice. That netting is shadecloth for sun protection and works to a certain extent. You get a nice view of the river and mountains from your site.
