Thank you for sharing about the Elections mini unit. I ordered it and am excited! I did look into the Thanksgiving units at both campfire and gathering. I ultimately decided against them. I was hoping to sub some of our morning reading with a unit but it was going to be more time intensive. We’re instead going to do a Thanksgiving Bible reading plan for November.
I love that you share how you make unit studies work for high school. ❤ We aren't going to add any units in to our curriculum. We are using a world geography unit study as our main curriculum. We did a field trip to the voting booth and my oldest watched me vote. We discussed (prior to going) why its important to vote, and why I was choosing to vote for the people I selected. We discussed why some offices didn't have more than one person running for it. It was just a short day long thing. My children are 9YO, 3YO, and 4 months. There's plenty of time to do an actual study when they're a bit older. I want to branch out and try different unit studies curricula. Currently we use The Waldock Way's units, but most of hers I don't like. I change the ones we use, but I'd much rather have units that I could use in their entirety and not alter them significantly. We might try gather round or campfire curriculum. We will see. Are they done through a biblical or secular worldview?
I really like the unit study idea. We have the car maintenance unit study from Campfire we are starting for my freshman. We’re using masterbooks science and history, Good and beautiful English and health Teaching Textbooks math geography book from Amazon because it’s cheaper than what I want. I want to buy everything lol but we’ve gone down to one income with me homeschooling. I go through some subjects and make flash cards for the questions due to attention span. It does help.

They are pretty intense. Where did you get the Bible reading plan?
