      Lol.
      I'm so torn now between a second hand engine and rebuilding this one. Its around £200 to rebuild this or £500 a tried and tested second hand one.

      It's tempting but worrying. I may order the parts later today.

    Looks like an elastic band pulling on the front lever. ?

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes I noticed that to. I think the switch has been an issue for a while and this band was the fix somehow. Keeping a touch of tension on..

    Your right it's not the mechanics fault it's the person who wrapped his spare hair band around the brake lever😂

      @motorcyclerescuer  7 місяців тому +1

      Lol I think the mechanic did that

    can't stand when they use specialty botls or screws on things, makes repairing them a right pain!

      Yes it's terrible. I don't even know what type it is. If it ever needs a new gasket we're all screwed

      Hi mate. It's a basic cheap one of ebay. Most the sinnis and lexmotos use them. I'll send you a link to one.

    Leader engines are one of the worse scooter engines ever made, the liquid cooled ones with the water pump on the side of the flywheel like the one in the DNA and old GTS are terrible, the older air cooled ones are better, one of the problems is they use the same thin cam chain from the 2 valve air cooled and put it on the 4 valve liquid cooled, stretching in no time causing many problems, the water pump bearings also fail leaking coolant inti the flywheel housing which doesn’t leak out until the damage is done, my favourite scooter to work on is the burgman 125lc
    the engines are built so solidly, think they have stopped shipping them to uk in 2020 we now have the cheap air cooled burgman street as a replacement😕

      I really dislike the earlier gilera ones but the 2006 onwards were pretty good. At least serviceable. Plus so many around that spare parts are available which is great
