I just noticed after watching Sean for the last couple of years that he actually talks a lot like Elon Musk.. I'm the one that referred him to sumit 4 x 4. I got the Sequoia I told you about a while back. My friend and I are going to do this trail that you guys are doing. We were planning this summer early summer but I decided we would cut our teeth in on the Grand canyon first, Doing a trip all the way around it..
I'm definitely going to be getting onX after seeing you guys use it. People have been referring me to get it but seeing you guys use it firsthand sold me. 👍🏻
Funny when you compare temperatures 😄An easy way to convert from F to Cel. is to subtract 30 and then divide by 2. Ex. 70 F. minus 30 is 40, divided by 2 is 20 degrees cel. 😊 And the other way around: 23 cel., as Shawn said, x2 is 46 plus 30 is 76 F. Not totally exact, but then you have an idea of what the other guy is talking about.
Brrrrrrrr. Reminds me I froze my butt off in Flagstaff the night before Expo West last year…. So unpredictable! Oh, hey, I had almost forgotten Shaun’s Ram is red under that camo wrap. Great adventure storytelling and videography!
The small amount of videos I’ve done while adventuring with the family has shown me how much work is required to get these kinds of shots; thank you for sharing! It inspires me to get out and keep going
Northern Arizona is absolutely beautiful! From the red rocks of Sedona to Prescott, Williams, Flagstaff, and Page near the Utah border where you can explore marvels such as Horseshoe Bend and the Lower Antelope Canyons. Amazing places to visit and explore.
We love watching you guys together, always great adventures & two good genuine guys. I gotta say hearing Shaun talk in “normal” currency 😂 like Celsius was good because normally when we hear Americans talks degrees, pounds, & miles we just scratch our heads. Keep up the good work gentlemen.
Better to stay dry in the trees on top of the Rim than right next to a GIANT cold source with wind chill to help blow it into you, if ya ask me. One of the coldest nights of my life was camping on the Colorado on White Rim Trail for Thanksgiving. The mild breeze took that water and just nuked the shoreline with cold. Meanwhile, camping up on top of the mesas the night before and up in the mountains afterwards was lovely. Even -10F elk hunting in CO feels better 'cause we avoid the humidity and blown cold of water sources. Food for thought if you don't take well to cold.
Love it! I live in Flagstaff and there’s so much around here to explore it’s endless. Also KC HiLites HQ is here and they give you a discount for buying in person which is awesome!
Beautiful scenery and a bit of a challenging adventure. The volcano was a great cherry on the sundae. How cool would it be to canoe or kayak on those waters?! Thank you for another amazing video. ❤
Been going to Cinders since ‘01 on my dirt bike, I know that place like the back of my hand. There’s so many cool places out there. $50 hill, $100 hill, Jeep Hill, Cinder Bowl, pipeline road, etc. Next time I find out you’re coming out this way, we will have to link up and I’ll show you all around cinders
Thx for another great adventure and welcome back to our STate! You passed by East of Payson and the chance to catch a rare Apache Trout! You must come back. BTW, still shorts and T-shirt weather from Phoenix on South
Looks like Long Lake? I have been there with my son fishing for northern pike. The wind kicked up and blew us across the lake. Had to paddle the canoe into the wind. WOW. It was difficult for us to get back to our campsite but we made it.
I picked up a good tip on using a 12 volt heating pad to keep my power banks heated in cold temps from this video. I have one power bank that has self heating batteries but not on the big unit with expansion batteries. I always learn from these videos. See you on Magruders some time in the future I hope.
@@TrailRecon Fire cut my trip off through Magruders this year after I was going through Hells canyon area and the LOlo Motorway just North of Magruders. Lolo trail is the path that Lewis and Clark took across central Idaho from Montana. Very interesting drive. Indian Post office is pretty cool steeped with history. Combine the Lolo with Magruders and you have a epic trip.
You're in our territory. We live in Phoenix. When you were in Young, we were hoping you'd go farther east into the White Mountain's of Arizona past Show Low. If you do another winter trip in AZ, plan to go up to the White Mountains, you'll love it.
I know! - perhaps catch a rare Apache Trout or Gila Trout - they did NOT even touch on our mining district area or Petrified Forest. They are leaving massive parallel adventures to the East and the West for future excursions - so much more. This is kinda like when they did Maggie SLot canyon and missed The AZ Delicate Arch - it was right there!
Happy New Year! Poor Shaun and his kayak... Isn't the Cinders an amazing place. Just to walk on the loose volcanic soil is an experience let alone climb a volcano pulling a trailer! Awesome video Brad!
Hey Brad. New Year is always my time to check my First Aid kit for out of date items and replace them. Many can be replaced at the supermarket rather than a pharmacy. Cheers.
Arizona has a lot of ancient volcanoes and the one I know that existed 55,000 years ago during the Pleistocene was the S P Crater. The lava leaked out of the volcano instead of erupting and it is a dormant and extinct cinder volcano.
Love the video, but it seems your navigation map system is not really doing the job, since you keep having to turn around. Is the Onx not showing these issues? Thanks
I knew there were volcanos here in AZ..but didn't know about the trail. Dropped a pin and planning on got there, before it gets hot again, and either before or after it snows.
In your planning there are four all dirt trails that can be done on dirt across NM. There is the NM BDR which is very do able in NM with a Jeep. I have a JLU Willys and my wife has a JT Willys. There is also the Tour Divide MTB trail which is 90% two track in NM, there is the Enchanted Rockies Trail and finally the Great Plains Trail. You could combine them into a very challenging tour. Also contact Turner Preserves, they have numerous huge eco-tourism ranches which I’m sure would make for a great challenging backdrop for trails adventure.
Lived in Phoenix and would go to the Cinders for many summers with the toy hauler and quads & rzr. As wife and I became better riders and got more powerful quads, we shot all the hills and cinder cones. Some amazing rides & some very dangerous areas. I would not do much hill shooting there in a jeep...way too dangerous. We saw accidents in jeeps where people were killed. Very dusty, much more than the dunes. Also, the volcanic cinder is very abrasive. We went thru a lot of paddle tires. Best riding was after summer monsoon storms....no dust and nice and cool. Great memories there.
Hey I'm looking to get my first Wrangler soon. I already decided I want a 2013+ for the engine and interior but I just want to know what you would advise about miles. I can't find much under $20k with less than 100k miles on it. Would you advise against something with that many miles?
Hey Brad, great video. Keep the adventures going. How’s the JK doing nowadays? Do you still have the 392? Are you still going the same direction with the gladiator as planned? I love all the videos you put out. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! This last year I have downsized the amount of vehicles I know have. My goal is to focus on adventure and not building new vehicles all the time. The Gladiator "Doc" is my primary expedition vehicle and I hope I can continue to help promote the importance of first aid training and carrying the proper gear. While I never intended it to be an actual response vehicle, I have dialed back my initial build plans with it to keep things a bit more practical.

Curious to see if you're still wearing the cowboy hat in the next adventure. It looks good, I think you should keep it. Now get some boots to go with it.

Brad has transitioned from a UA-cam video of he and his son jeeping in the desert, to an amazing story teller that happens to overland.
Whoa this is his son
No this isn’t his son. Brads first video from years ago was him and his son out in the Jeep just having fun.
That's hilarious.
I'm leaving on a trip in the morning and the Jack Daniel's pulled pork is already in the fridge.
Never would have thought Arizona had places like this!!!!!
Arizona has the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world. We have a lot more than desert.
That shot at the top of the cinder volcano made this video and the whole series worth it! Such an amazing shot!

I can calculate Celsius to Fahrenheit by taking C°x9/5+32=F° but doing the opposite is a challenge for me.

Heck ya we did!
I hope you rise up to The Paria Plateau on our border with Utah - lots of multi-day adventures with views that rival Alstrom Point but without crowds
Great video as always Brad.
Going up on the volcano may be the coolest ending to a video you've had. I never knew Arizona was so varied.
Another amazing video and another todo on the bucket list. Thank you Brad!
Great video! Loved it - & thanks for the degrees Celsius! ;)
Epic adventure. Thanks for bringing us along Brad!
I've only watched the first minute and know that this is to be a good one!
It's not easy to make videos of this quality, thank you! It's enjoyable to follow you both through this trip.
Beautiful scenery and fun looking trails.
Nice rigs, too.

There are plenty of lakes not so high up here in AZ where you can go in the winter and it will be like 50-70 degrees.
Arizona has a lot of ancient volcanoes and the one I know that existed 55,000 years ago during the Pleistocene was the S P Crater. The lava leaked out of the volcano instead of erupting and it is a dormant and extinct cinder volcano.
