  • Learn how to use the Godox TT350f as master or slave flash. In this video I show how to set up the TT350f as a master flash to trigger and control other flashes. In addition I show how to set it up as a slave flash from the XT16 trigger.
    These are all being using as manual flashes. TTL to come.

    You need to differentiate between the Channel and the Group purposes and explain first how the units talk to each other.
    [A] [B] [C] are not channels they are Groups within the selected channels. There are only 3 Groups and 16 channels or 16 digital radio frequencies. What does that mean. You could have 16 photographers all in the same space, all working independently, as long as each photographer is on their unique channel/frequency. Each using their own 'Group' of flashes - taht will respond ONLY to that assigned Channel/frequency.
    Channel is the digital radio frequency you assign to the trigger AND flash units so they can all talk to each other. Groups are the flashes and triggers working on that chanel or digital frequency.
    Hence you could be on chanel or frequency 13, and within that frequency you have groups of flashes, named A B or C. Once you select your operating Chanel/Frequency, say 13, and group A. Only the slaves on frequency 13 will respond that are in Group A. We have a nomenclature issue. First you need to define the names and functions and the rules.

    What a wonderfully charismatic and effortlessly confusing video!. I'm sure most people like the out of focus close up shots and the consistent renaming of 'group' to 'channel' - giving two different types of 'channel' - is well understood by everybody else except me. That caused me to question if the reference to 'group' in the TT350F 'manual' (hah!) is a typo. or not. Sadly, I couldn't follow what was going on in the shot (at about 3:38 to 3:40) in which the TTL350 was communicating with a flash from another manufacturer in the background.. My poor eyesight did permit me to handle the unique choice of focus setting that was employed. I confess that I somewhat lost concentration at that point. Over all, I will be sure to give the subscribe button the attention it deserves ....

    • @lightroomblog
      @lightroomblog  Рік тому

      The other flash is a Godox Wistro AD360. Not another manufacturer. I had shown first the master flash changing, and then chose to show the slave flash responding. As it's a standard recording technique, and there's no good way in this situation to have both in focus, that's the best that can be done.

    Wednesday, May 12, 2021, 6:20 p.m. Hi Sean this video may be old (2017) but the information was exactly what I was looking for. I use TT350F as master on my Fuji X-T20 and V850 II as slave. Flash wont trigger over 1/180 SS. On both flashes HSS is enabled. Its working fine with 1/180 or slower SS.

    • @lightroomblog
      @lightroomblog  6 років тому

      The X1T-F got a firmware update that allows the V850II to do HSS. The TT350-F didn't get that in a firmware update, so can't do HSS. I was caught with that myself when I forgot the X1T-f and had to use the TT350f as a trigger. Wasn't happy. Wrote a grumpy email to Godox support. You should do the same. The more that complain, the better the chance we have of getting it.

    So this little flash cannot fire a tt600 in the high speed sync mode in bright conditions?

    • @lightroomblog
      @lightroomblog  2 роки тому

      I’m not sure you are asking? It’s acts as a radio trigger so the light won’t affect that. The TT600 would probably struggle to have enough power with HSS in bright light. Personally I use the Godox AD 600BM for HSS in outdoor sun when using modifiers.

    • @johncantrell614
      @johncantrell614 2 роки тому

      @@lightroomblog what I was asking was that I know that you can use a tt350 to fire a tt600 as a trigger in normal flash sync settings, but in the instances that you might need to use the tt600 in high speed sync, can the tt350 trigger it in high speed sync? When the 600 is close enough, then it works well in most bright situations when you do not want to overexpose the background outdoors and may have to set the shutter speed above the normal sync speed of your camera. The little tt350 would be a great little flash to carry on the camera, because it can be used as an on camera ttl flash, and the tt600 cannot, but it makes a great remote flash. So just trying to see if it can trigger it in HSS. Thanks.

    Whats the difference between ( above on the menu ) Channel A B C and ( below on the menu ) Channel 1-8 ?

    • @lightroomblog
      @lightroomblog  6 років тому

      There are 16 channels on the bottom, this allow up to 16 different sets of lights to operate separately. A,B C ( and M for the master flash if you're using one) are groups on the channel. This means you can control 3 different flashes (or groups of flashes, hence the name) on that one channel. By way of example, I could have 3 flashes sent to Channel 2. Group A could be my key light set at 1/4 power. Group B could be my background and set to 1/2 power. Group C could be a hair light at 1/16 power. When I fire my trigger (which is also set to channel 2), all three flashes fire. Let's say there was a 4th flash on Channel 1 and set to 1/1 power. What would happen to it when I fire my trigger? Nothing, because it's not set to the right channel.
