I still to this day have my SNES that I bought in 1991, with the box, plastics, paperwork, and even that cardboard cover. It's all in pretty much flawless condition because even as a 12 year old kid in 1991, I was extremely particular with everything that I owned. Even with that though, and being in its box and plastic since the late 90's, rarely being pulled out, half of the console has yellowed. Very frustrating for how careful I've always been with it. I've considered trying to Retrobrite that half, but since it's still working fine, I've wondered if I should even bother. But man do I miss that time from about 1991 though maybe 1994 or 1995, when the SNES was king. It was the only system I was right in the thick of thins with for its whole run, and it was SO much fun. I didn't get it right on launch day, but within about 2 months. Before the days of the internet then, I actually wasn't even aware it was coming out. Then when I was visiting my Dad's work partner's lake house one summer, his two boys had brought the SNES up with them and were playing Mario World. My mind was absolutely blown! I had missed getting an NES in 1985, until a good 4 years later around 1989, and I missed so much of its biggest heyday when it was really cutting edge and in pop culture. So I didn't want that to happen again with the SNES. I still remember how it smelled coming out of the box, and going to my closest mall (even though it was a 45 minute drive on freeway) and going to Electronics Boutique, it was like my birthday looking at the huge rack of brand new SNES games, accessories, and looking at the various magazines. Today video game stores sadly feel like flea markets to me. They're just a dirty mess of used things. I wish kids today could experience what it was like in 1991, when things were so nice.
The yellowing seems like it's random. Even if stored in a dark cool place, some still turn yellow. I always consider the late 80's-late 90's to be the golden age of video games. So many great games were released during that time. Many which are considered classics now. Before the internet, going to the game store was the best way to find out about new games. I agree that stores can seem like a mess but there are some that really care and display retro stuff nicely. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always enjoy hearing stories like that. :)
@@GoodVibeCollecting Yes, I’ve seen the yellowing just on the top, just on the bottom like mine, and both. I’m told it’s just when the plastic was made, and with what batch it came from. Something they’ve since fixed. Still frustrating though, for someone who goes through such lengths to be careful and take care of things. I do have a couple of stores around me, as well as up near my parents house up north, that sell used games. I think they do care, but it’s difficult to find anything in decent shape (by my standards I suppose), and even harder at a decent price if it is in good shape. Just one of my games now, with its original box and papers, in the condition it’s in, has been going for $650 to $700. 😳 Which is great for me if I wanted to sell it. But it’s not about the money. I loved that period, the consoles, and the games, and I still occasionally even play the few games I’ve kept. Im just careful with them. It’s sort of like a neat old car that’s been kept up. Sure you can just keep it in a garage and never drive it. But it’s not good for the car mechanically, no one ever gets to see it, and they were made to be driven. Obviously game consoles aren’t quite the same, but still. When I was a kid I lived in a very very small town that was relatively isolated. It was also a pre-internet time. Video games, along with TV and movies, were my window to a bigger world, and not only showed me there was something bigger out there, but kept my mind active. Of course also making me to happy and excited. Games today are in HD, 3D, they’re online, and you can buy them digitally just sitting on your couch. But I really miss physical media, and the thrill of going to gaming stores, or opening up that package on your birthday or during the holidays. Im told that my nephews, now 17 and 15, don’t mind just getting a piece of cardboard with a code for a game today. It’s just what they’re used to and are fine with it. I was wondering if u knew what game that original poster went in so I can complete the game. It says Zelda 3 coming soon. That came out in 1992. So think this poster is from 1991. Must have been a launch game. Was wondering if u may know which game or games that poster came in. Cant find any info. Thanks for any help.
The posters that say Zelda III were only in a few games. F-Zero, Pilotwings, Sim City, Super Tennis, and I believe the Super Scope. Only the first prints though.
Ok thanks that helps. On the back it says get the power. For Nintendo power. And the front says Zelda 3 coming soon. And its numbered : gp-snes-usa there is no -1 on the end. I think the -1 was added to correct the title for a link to the past. It was never called Zelda 3. Only in early advertising. Just trying to figure what games it could have come in. I have a few boxed games like donkey Kong country and super ghouls and ghosts and a few others. Just trying to get the poster with right game. Figured it had to be a first party game. Thanks again

Amazing video my friend! That box looks to be in spectacular shape! And I can see the types of bags you were telling me about for my A/V cables and such. I think I'm with you as well. The SNES is probably my favorite console of all times. Nintendo was really at the top of their game when they developed it. And SMW is in my opinion, thw greatest launch title ever released with a console. I'm glad I was able to see which Nintendo Power advert I need to complete the paperwork. Any idea as to where I might find a good copy of one?
I figured the title being placed all on one line meant that was the very first print game ever, which is why these days more people own the games with the title as super on top, Mario world both below it. So this game right here has got to be the first, earliest copy made, which is way harder to find.
Back in the early nineties you could find this game as the launch title with the system all in one box! But as years went by, most people could only buy the game without being in the box, or with the system, which is proof that those ones are the newer makes, have stuff left out of those games, unlike this original first print.
This is the one I had back in the day, my sister bought it for me as a present in the states in december of 1991, I think I must have been one of the first SNES owners here in Uruguay, I still have the system, controllers, cables, pads and my copy of MArio World, I laso have all the instructions on their respective bag, unfortunately I lost the box and styrofoam.
@@GoodVibeCollecting Uruguay is in South America, back then all Americas had TV sets compatible with both NTSC and PAL signals, all consoles here since the NES/famiclones are NTSC anyways, back then the PAL signal was used only by a few "air" broadcast channels, the only country here that used the PAL signal for TV and consoles as a standard was Brazil, but "their" PAL is not like the european PAL, it is more like a brazilian NTSC, runs at 60hz but without the adjustable tone (tint) option.
27 years ago for #christmas, I got an SNES from my dad, with the #legendofzelda #alinktothepast packed in. I still maintain it's one of the best gifts he's ever given me, and remains my favorite SNES game to this very day.

I've had this in my collection for years. Pretty sure I got it off ebay. There aren't too many fake original model SNES consoles out there and the ones that are fake, are pretty obvious. So yeah, there is no magical link where you can buy CIB ones. My advice is to look at the seller's feedback and see if there are any complaints. If you plan to buy it from FB marketplace or some other site that doesn't have a feedback system, ask other members there if that seller is trustworthy.
So this is the original first copy of super Mario world, that comes with the system all in one box? I remember getting this as a kid. Today you can’t find original early copies like you could back in the early nineties, that’s for sure. I remember unlocking a hidden water level located between yellow switch palace, yoshis island 1 during my second time playing, it had blooper the squid! And I couldn’t ever access that level again when I lost this original copy, ended up buying a newer make years later.. so that would explain why there’s no screenshots of any such level on this game probably because it could only be found on this rare, very old, first release, which nobody could find by the time the internet came out. I know there was a level there, it could only be found on this make.
That one is harder to find IMO. I'm guessing it didn't sell as well. Probably because most people already had a Super Nintendo at the time. Do you plan to complete yours?

I just searched for your channel hoping you had a wii u unboxing so I could figure out how to put mine back in the box right now. Lol
Are you saying I have a Wii U and should do an unboxing video of it? Haha.
Just look up an unboxing video and play it in reverse.
@@GoodVibeCollecting if you do have one sitting around you should totally unbox it! I thankfully did watch a decent unboxing and was able to package it up just right lol… Very important stuff! 😉
I do. I sent a PM in your Discord.
I'm guessing you had to use a converter to play it since it was NTSC?
@@GoodVibeCollecting Uruguay is in South America, back then all Americas had TV sets compatible with both NTSC and PAL signals, all consoles here since the NES/famiclones are NTSC anyways, back then the PAL signal was used only by a few "air" broadcast channels, the only country here that used the PAL signal for TV and consoles as a standard was Brazil, but "their" PAL is not like the european PAL, it is more like a brazilian NTSC, runs at 60hz but without the adjustable tone (tint) option.
@@Spolupyo The more you know.
That box is clean. How much was it?
Don't remember, alot less than what it's worth now.
27 years ago for #christmas, I got an SNES from my dad, with the #legendofzelda #alinktothepast packed in. I still maintain it's one of the best gifts he's ever given me, and remains my favorite SNES game to this very day.
It's easily my 2nd favorite Zelda game behind Link's Awakening. I got my SNES Christmas of 1994 and yeah, I'd say it was the best gift I've ever received.
Probably had a extra secret water level in first area too?
Love the super nes. Nice pick up.
Thanks. I've had this for awhile now so I figured why not show the insides.
@@GoodVibeCollecting do you play it on a CRT?
@@rolandbaron5813 Of course. The system was designed to be played on CRTs and IMO looks best on them. :)
Which do you prefer?
@@GoodVibeCollecting same.
Like always awesome video. I have a later version (1992) with the other games in the back. Which version of super mario world I should get?
super mario wold?
or
super
mario world?
Have an aweomse week.
Greetings from Chile
Most likely
Super
Mario World with the slot style cartridge.
@@GoodVibeCollecting Ok buddy thanks a lot
Can you give me the link to where you got your Snes please its hard to trust fakes out there
I've had this in my collection for years.
1st console system I bought with my own money at the launch (with pooling $ with my sister).
It was worth every penny.
Best console I've ever had
It's one of, if not THE best system ever made.
Light is what turns the plastic yellow.
Heat does as well.
wish i had a complete box. i only have the cardboard box of the donkey kong set
That one is harder to find IMO. I'm guessing it didn't sell as well. Probably because most people already had a Super Nintendo at the time. Do you plan to complete yours?
The smell of a new console
Almost as good as new shoes smell.
Yo my father used to have this when he was a teen
Thanks for making us feel old, LOL.
I love the snes
Who doesn't? So many classics, several of which are considered some of the greatest games ever made.
Conhecido no Brasil como o "001".

Eww the pal/jp ver look so much better than this purple abomination
It does if you grew up with them. The Pal/Jp carts don't have end labels though. So both have their pros and cons.
