simple: we use oil to break makeup, even waterproof makeup! eyelids is actually the oiliest part of the face, that's why we use primer for eyeshadow cause it stop oil, it create a barrier. I have oily skin too and mascara does the same things to me, sadly.. so sorry for this one ):

yeah this is true!! but I wonder why some mascaras smudge and others don’t 🧐 so frustrating!
@@sophdoeslife Soph, have you ever tried putting a little bit of eyeshadow primer under your lower lash-line to prevent mascara smudges? My cousin absolutely swears by it...
I’ve always been afraid of waterproof makeup but after finding ponds cold cream (fragrance free bc im sensitive) and oily around my t zone. comes off nicely and I won’t have to worry about it

They’re honestly really beautiful. Before mine were non existent but I started using castor oil and they have significantly grown.
She gets sent lots of products for free so don't be jealous! Castor oil works wonders and its quite cheap

Honestly the original is awesome, just tried this one in my IPSY bag...and it sucks!! I did a video to show how bad this magnetic mascara is! I was disappointed, was hoping its good.

Oh yes! She mentioned on her IG stories that she's impressed with Bake Off contestants baking cakes in 2 hours because it took her much longer than that to make one. It would be a nice fun challenge for her and James to do.

I totally agree that lockdown is making us into a summer people!! used to hate summer but now i'm looking forward lighter evenings and nicer weather so we can go outside and walk, or meet up with friends outside instead of being stuck inside.

You should do a full video on testing/comparing popular mascaras. High end and drug store. Just like an in-depth video of mascara. It might sound boring but I think you could do it and still make it fun 💜
I bought mine today ☺ and I'm totally obsessed with it. When I apply it didn't smudge at all & no clumps either! BEST MASCARA EVER 😍
Some mascaras are oil based and thus they'll smudge when in contact with oil. Other mascaras are water based so oil would not smudge them but obviously water would :)

This whole lockdown thing, like for us that never had to face any sort of lockdown here in BC Canada, like we keep hearing about it and don’t really think about it but now hearing you Soph talk about it and how for a while no one was allowed out and how excited you are about potentially getting to see ppl, I can not imagine how hard and depressing it must be! Soph I love mixing my mascaras!! A voluminous mascara mixed with a lengthening one makes my lashes amazing! I personally love using maybelline sky high, L’Oréal air volume and L’Oréal lash paradise, makes my lashes look so good! Btw love you and your videos 🥺😊

I remember when you were at 100k subscribers, my username was some really stupid thing that I had to change bc my email was too childish, I'm 20 right now and I feel like your channel has grown up with me. Your second palette arrived to my country a few months ago and it was really amazing to have something you created, since I couldn't purchase your merch or collabs with skinny dip because of shipping and taxes I love having the palette. Your little family is adorable btw❤
Helpful hint: For those who experience mascara smudging problem: After applying my mascara, I simply use a small brush w/powder & lightly apply where the smudges typically would happen, this almost always stops it in its tracks for me. Try it & see if it works for you~ I use moisturizer & this is why I experience smudges, so I think if you have oily skin it would be the same concept.

So glad you did this review Soph! I’m an oily skinned eyelid etc gal and have the same issue with smudging! Especially bad gal bang! ☹️ apparently there are tubing and non tubing mascaras and the tubing ones are the ones that don’t smudge!! So better for us oily gals!! Just Google tubing mascaras 😊
Alternate title: mascara that makes the lockers try to eat you.
As any mascara is naturally clumping after I apply mascara I brush my lashes with a clean mascara wand which I can get from anywhere and I feel it definitely helps.
@@laylaturner8887 Whatever happened to lash combs? I recently tried to find a replacement for my probably 20+year old metal Ruby & Millie lashcomb and they are hard to find.
The only ones I can seem to find are those cheapy crappo ones that have a plastic comb one side and and a sort of bristly-brush the other.

little hack/tip that I like to do to avoid the mascara transfer thing - use the waterproof version of the mascara or another mascara. Sometimes I will put a mascara that I love but smudges on then do a coat of waterproof mascara and it stops the transfer

It definitely doesn’t sound silly to say you loved feeling the sun on your skin! It’s been so nice to have it more lately! I’m now excited for Summer again! Autumn will probably always be my favourite season but lockdown has definitely made me appreciate the warmer weather a bit more!

That also used to happen to me, I now use waterproof mascara and it is really good there's no black under my eyes at all. It looks so good
