    Great video! I always find it a bit weird that the alarms on these crossings continue when the gates are down, though I guess it's to distinguish them from the MCB crossings?

    Great video Glen. Nice to see the crossing as an AFBCL. Sorry I thought I had commented already.

    Rather appropriate the first automatic full barrier level crossing should be at Dingwall. Full barriers to give you the wall, a pity that the continuing alarm isn't more of a ding.

    Nice crossing, apart from it having four E2S's.

    very good and i think all full barrier level crossings have continuing alarms to make it difference

      There are only 3 crossings with continuous alarms and this comment makes no sense, well done 😂😂😂

    Nice long tone from the 158. I do find it weird how the sirens go on whilst the crossing is closed🤔

    I still don't see the point in these crossings there basically an MCB where the alarms stay on .

    • @GlensTransport
      @GlensTransport  5 років тому

      It's not an MCB. The point is that it is an automatic locally monitored crossing with full barriers, instead of half barriers.

    • @UKLCSandT
      @UKLCSandT 5 років тому

      Glen's Transport I know it's not an MCB I'm just saying these crossings are basically MCBs that act like AHBs but they just have full barriers instead of half which I don't think there's any point in, and do they detect if anything or anyone runs on to the crossing as it is lowering?? Or will it stay down or continue lowering meaning the thing or person will be trapped.

    • @GlensTransport
      @GlensTransport  5 років тому

      @@UKLCSandT The point in them is that they operate the same as the locally monitored crossings they have replaced, but with the extra barriers to reduce the risk of misuse by pedestrians - and without the additional expense than changing to an MCB would incur.

      This is an AFBCL, not an MCB-OD, it works the same as an ABCL, but with the extra barriers.

      @@jevthenumaticteamchapman7694 It doesn't have the radar that MCB-OD has, also it isn't interlocked with the signalling, it has the flashing red and white indicator lights which simply indicates whether the crossing has activated. It's a locally monitored crossing.
