I got married end of Feb and we had Next to You as the song I walked down the ailse to my husband! The words are just perfect for our relationship and means the world to us! ❤
Yes! I can't wait for the video on chronic fatigue! It was because of Emma's video on it when she first got diagnosed that I got curious and looked up the symptoms. I'm now waiting for a referral to a fatigue clinic. Thanks Emma ❤️
The Promise is my all time favorite song! It helped me with everything that I've been through and I've never really thanked you. So, thank you, Emma! You're an inspiration. 💕
"How to get over writer's block." So last night I went to An Evening with Neil Gaiman where he read us stories and answered some questions and this question came up. The short version is that he recommended writing something else. Anything else. Write a poem. Write about how you're stuck. Write about your day. Write a short story about something that happened to you once, or a dream you had. It keeps the creative juices flowing while minimizing the frustration of getting stuck. In some cases, writing about other things gives you the piece that you're missing. He also talked about how he doesn't believe in writer's block - getting stuck is a very real thing, but by calling it writer's block, you give it a sort of power. When you tell people you've got writer's block, people just kind of nod their heads and accept it as this Very Big and Real Thing that happens and stands in your way and you've given it the power to do so. You're not blocked from writing - you're just stuck on the thing that you're currently writing - so go around the block, work on something else, and eventually you'll come back and it won't be there anymore.
hi emma, i've been feeling really awful the last couple of months but your videos (especially the lengthy ones like this one) manage to distract me and cheer me up. that's nice. the prospect of seeing new stuff by you every day for the next four weeks makes me incredibly happy. thanks emma!
I don't know why I was just sobbing whilst watching this. I think Emma just makes me genuinely really happy. She said not to be like her but that's all I want. She has been my role model since I was 7 and I still look up to her. Just watching her makes me so happy I hope that never changes❤️
I love the fact that as the video went on, your accent got heavier. Never a complaint, just amused. Ready for the EP and need a US tour or visit to Nashville.
I was at 02 Islington and I will definitely be at Shepards Bush. It's one of my favourite memories as well, just being so close and surrounded by other people who love you! It was absolutely amazing
I've been watching you for a while but not so long ago I stumbled across your cover of 36 degrees (which was bloody amazing btw) and now I'm a fan of Placebo so thanks Emma :) p.s - you're so incredibly talented and I appreciate everything you do
I love you so much Emma honestly when your name pops up in my notifications I just feel so happy, So glad you are so condident now and you just have this great style that I love. You've helped me through more than I can put into words on a screen, thank you Emma.
I had to pause it just after the BabyMetal mention to say I can really see that working, especially at "otome wa... nametara ikan zeyo". I do love that bit.
I love the promise relating to the song is an understatement. This song inspires me so much and makes me believe in hope again. I know you have probably herd that all the fucking time however, im going to say it again. I want to say thank you for making me happy and making me believe in hope. You are the reason I am getting help for self harm. Everyone should listen to that song
Emma you're amazing! You're such a motivated and inspiring person, you respond to comments so well and help so many people! I love your videos they always make me smile and you inspire my music soooo much I'm rubbish at writing songs but you really give me hope that words will actually happen 😂 Wish I could see you on tour I'm from the uk but I'm broke P.s. PLEASE sing guns for hands or house of gold or just any twenty one pilots song! And if you were a wrestler what would your enters de music be?
Ah, that elation when the crowd goes wild. There's nothing like it. For several years I was a pub karaoke singer, and me singing in tune was like pretty rare, but at least I got applause from my drunken mates. Then this one magical time something happened. I did Crying by Roy Orbison, something I had done before but always failing on the high notes. This one time the karaoke guy had an awesome rig that always made you sound good, and I did the song perfect, all in tune even the high notes. I got a standing ovation, and as I walked the length of the pub back to where my mates were, everyone was getting up to high five me, shake my hand, or just congratulate me or even kiss me on the cheek. There really is no feeling like it, but sadly I was never able to do it again.
Sadie Powell I have never heard of that and leads me to believe, that you are trying to fool me. I am not falling for it. *confidentally turns away and drops, like emma at the end of the instead-Music Video*
James Webb but she uploaded it today right. Why would you trust her now? Especially if you have proof, that it didnt work before. It is april fools after all. People plan way more ahead of april to effectively fool someone
Looking forward to picking up everybody's music books and art. Some reason can't purchase things in the U.K. 😟. As soon as I can I will try to show some love to some great artists!
Writers block is different in a lot of cases, tailor it to the situation. for example, if the block is content related, take a moment to write something completely unrelated, like a sudden zombie/ninja attack. If it is inspiration related, thats the most difficult one to work through. just time really, and distance. Hope this helps some!
Jinkies I've been watching Emma since i was about 13 in 2013/14 and now I'm 16. Like.. I'm seeing her live in a few months,,? like damn I've been through all types of shit and transitioned and just wow since then. that's so rad bless.
I don't think you give yourself enough credit em... you self depreciate and say you don't want kids to end up like you but you clearly come from a place of caring and provide a lot of good examples for kiddos even though you can be an ass sometimes (but who isnt eh?). anyway. i've been here since the beginning and you've come a long way. you're doing great.
Sweets for breakfast (I had Haribo tangfastics myself) AND the power to control TIME as a superpower, two really good choices. But if I had power over time I'd want to do more than to just pause it, I'd want to be able to travel to the past and the future and also rewind and change some things with only me knowing the difference. None of this time is fixed and unchangeable stuff I'd win the lottery on my 16th birthday (got the numbers memorised just in case 13, 16, 17, 29, 40, 48) and no need to be anxious about social interaction if it doesn't go well I can undo it!
I love the camera you use for your weekly vlogs. I find the image to be striking tbh. Would so do anything to be able to film with one of those. One day maybe
Purely randomly because Hulu presented the opportunity yesterday I watched My Girl and so the rambling character Vada was my first thought when I saw "welcome to veda". My first thought when I started watching was a smile. The first deep touch was demisexual, biromantic, heterosexual" which defines me as well as any other tri-label thing. My first thought when finding your name/video on the right side list of videos was "so why haven't we gotten together yet?" All this means nothing unless you want it to - from a best friend in another life. :)
Q/A: I've been trying to write a book for years, so seeing that you are as well is really cool. Any insights on your process? You sound like you're much more proficient where as I get distracted, doubtful, and procrastinate a lot
What's kinda not so neat about stopping time is that you can't travel very fast. I mean, you're traveling fast for others, but for you yourself not so much. And you have to walk or cycle everything, since everything else is standing still.
"I can't give you any advice, 'cause I got lucky." I think that really is the only way to get 'big' in music. You can be the most talented musician, but if you don't have the luck of being noticed by people you won't make it. So I guess you just have to keep trying and doing your thing an hope you get lucky, I don't know...

Yes! I can't wait for the video on chronic fatigue! It was because of Emma's video on it when she first got diagnosed that I got curious and looked up the symptoms. I'm now waiting for a referral to a fatigue clinic. Thanks Emma ❤️

"'how do you deal with BPD symptoms' 'I don't hahahahahhaha'" fucking relatable
You go girl, be happy. These videos are so laid back and I like that you are able to do them.
I was at 02 Islington and I will definitely be at Shepards Bush. It's one of my favourite memories as well, just being so close and surrounded by other people who love you! It was absolutely amazing
I was at the Islington gig and I'm so glad it made you so happy and that I was able to be part of that. I would love to see you again!

Forget and Not Slow Down is one of the only albums I listen to all the way through on a consistent basis. I love it.
Every time I hear the words "go the distance" all I can think about is that one song from Hercules

Seeing someone with food colouring down their legs wouldn't of been the weirdest thing I've seen at Southend beach tbh
Looking forward to picking up everybody's music books and art. Some reason can't purchase things in the U.K. 😟. As soon as I can I will try to show some love to some great artists!

"learning to be less of a dick... or be a dick for the right reasons" -Emma Blackery 2017
Emma is the most inspirational person in the world when Febe was born, she basically turned her life around
Haven't watched her in like two years and she's changed so much
I was at the o2 Islington and I'm coming shepards bush, counting down the days, that night was the best of my life!💖💖💖
I'd love to see you opening for Paramore in an European Tour! Love ya from Italy!
Fixation is my favourite from the demo album. I used to listen to it on repeat.
"be a dick, but for the right reasons" - new life motto

You do have talent...both vocal and creative
Please do a full length cover of 7 Things. I'd sell my soul to hear that.
I've walked across the beaches, mountains, forests trying to find who I am inside but to no avail I never have found the answer to that question
I'm a pretty massive Paramore fan and i think it'd be badass if you opened for a UK 5more gig or something
time control is the best power, everyone says like flying or invisibility but imagine being able to pause time and sleep for as long as you like...
1:05 So you could say you went with instead instead?
UR EP SLOWLY COMING OUT IML YESH
Dear Emma that little "how to write a song" sounded so nice in my ears I decided to actually write one.
throwback to bernard's watch who even remembers that show anyway
