Jackspeticeye is green, crank is blue, emma is brown, dodie is yellow, luke is orange, connie is pink pewds is white, marcus is grey, brizzy is red and hazel is beije, chloe dungate is purple (its a strech but i couln't think of anyone else) and dean is black. there we have the youtuber color wheel. XD
If people in the comments are thinking of dying their hair: -leave in conditioner for 10-20 mins each wash -argan oil is a lifesaver, use after every wash -don't condition your roots! it only makes hair greasy and need washing faster -try not to use heat, but if so use heat protection -dandruff shampoo + vitamin C powder, if you want to get rid of colour -don't rule out getting it trimmed, especially if the ends are breaking -consider balayage or ombre - it's worth it as you don't have to maintain roots
Evie Hulbert Coconut oil!! It's so good for dyed hair, I always use it like I would use a conditioner before I shampoo it (leave it on for about 10 minutes) and it's helped reduce my split ends. Not like repair them, but I get less than I used to before. Also, don't bleach your hair on your own if you don't know what you're doing. Go to a professional, it's going to cost more if you screw up and burn your hair and it's not worth it. If you've already bleached it/it's a light colour already and you want a quick change, use a drop of gentian violet and conditioner based on the length of your hair. It lasts about four or five washes and it doesn't do any damage to your hair.
i can also recommend argan oil hair masks and oils. the oil I only apply once in a while when my hair looks especially dry and lacks nutrition. don't overdo it though or else it makes your hair greasy. the hair mask I rub in a couple of hours (or even the night) before I wash my hair. Yay extra hair care! also! use silicone-free products. yeah, silicone makes your hair look shiny and sleek but it also covers it with a literal layer of silicone which causes the actual hair underneath to break as nutritions can't reach it anymore.
@@TheMissePige that can be expensive, where as in the UK box dyes/bleaches are less than £10 a box. I know hair dye is more expensive in places like America, but here it's pretty cheap in comparison.
So happy for this! My goal is to make it until 2018 without dying all my hair, I destroyed it in February, so I'm really hoping to keep my goal. I've never...NEVER have had long hair naturally so I completely am there with you ❤️ WE CAN DO THISSSS
I just watched your video before going out on a crowded place with my pink hair because I was feeling very insecure about it and your video somehow helped decrease the tension I had. I would like to tell you that watching you motivates me to be confident and to not care about the negative attitude of people in public.
I love the way she talks about her past choices. They made her happy at the time so she doesn't regret it but she's grown as a person and moved on since them. I know it's about something as simple as hair colors but it's nice to see her reminisce instead of completely bash herself.
The fact you can make a 28 minute video about your hair styles boggles my mind. IGN struggle to make a review last 5 XD Awesome video by the way, it's a nice bit of nostalgia :)
I'm a cosmetologist, and also someone who goes through colors/styles quite often. I had a shaved side and asymmetrical pixie for a while, before deciding to grow it out. It only took a year and a few months to go from completely shaved side to the length similar to Emma's here. Human hair naturally grows about half an inch per month. If you were to stop coloring it (especially with box color. Box color=metallic dye. Metallic dye destroys the cuticle and removes natural oils from your hair. It's awful) and get a trim (about 3/4 an inch) off of ALL the ends, layers included, every 6-8 weeks, it would grow out tremendously faster. Just some advice to Emma and anyone trying to grow out their hair!
If you have completely natural hair dont dye it and dont put any heat on it (basically if you dont do anything to it) then you dont even need trims at all. I have 4 daughters and they have long flowing healthy hair with no split ends that goes past there bottoms, I've never once given them a trim. Just goes to show that only ppl who damage there hair need trims.
this video freaked me out because it's made me realise how long i've actually been watching your videos! you've grown and changed so much but still got that classic emma charm ;)
These videos give me life. Emma has been one of my favorite youtubers for so long but her having this channel has made me love her so much more, much love x.
Honestly, every single hair style and color has looked so cute on you. But I am so glad that you're happy with your hair right now! I'm currently trying to grow my hair out from a pixie cut, so we're on the same boat.
Vendetta x I got a really ugly pixie cut in august right before I started high school and then I cut it shorter because it was ugly and I regret it every day
Vendetta x hey, i have a pixie cut and i always say to people who have short hair: when in doubt wave it. i think my short hair looks so much nicer when it's not straight :/
I remember that during 2012 and 2013 I was straightening out all of my curls every single morning. My hair got so damaged and fried, and I couldn't do anything with it. Now I've chopped off all the dead parts and I wear it curly everyday, and I love it! I have so much more confidence now that I've accepted myself and my own beauty, and now that I'm not trying so hard to be someone I'm not. I'm not trying to imply that you did anyof your hairstyles to please others, but I just hope you feel more and more beautiful everyday!
Emma seriously I love you so much. I started watching your videos in 2013 and you haven't scared me off since! Seeing your personal growth and change throughout all these years inspires me so much and I enjoy watching your videos to this day.
To be honest, I loved the wigs phase. At that particular time I too, had completely fried my hair beyond repair, but I couldn't bring myself to shave it, so I got it cut super, super short, and I felt incredibly de-feminized as well. So I would wear cosplay wigs almost constantly because it made me feel better. Seeing you doing the same thing at the time was such a comfort, like "I'm not alone, she knows how I feel" And now, my hair is healthy again and I'm a bright, berry pink, which I absolutely adore ^_^
out of curiosity: do you reckon you'll stay brown for a long time, or are there others colours you'd want to try out? i love that you do it for yourself rather than for anyone else's benefit or for a thing of like "but the viewers liked that hair colour, WE'VE GOT TO GO BACK". (and as a note, seeing as you seemed worried about your hair not growing- it definitely has more length now and is continuing to grow, so don't worry!)
This video reminds me that I need to get my own hair cut! I'm pretty sure nobody will believe me but I've been around since that first red in 2012. It's really fun to see Emma reflect on all the crazy hair colors she has gone through. As someone who has always wanted to dye my hair but is deathly afraid of the damage it does, it was fun to live vicariously through her. I'm proud of your hair growth Emma!
Emma will probably not read this but I just wanted to tell you I love you and appreciate you so much. I've looked up to you forever and you inspire me everyday. I thought this would just be nice to read. Everyone needs a bit of positivity every now and then. Even though I don't really know you I love you lots ❤️
not a clue why i've always loved you i just adore you this video i sat for half an hour and happily watched you just talk about your hair this video was awesome
The Miley buns and the green wig I think suited you so well This video is nice to see because the video of you roasting your old hairstyles was so funny but it's nice you see someone have more of a positive outlook in their past
Maia F nah you can't just be any old blonde and go "well, don't need to bleach it!" trust me i'm naturally blonde and i need to bleach the shit out of it so it's white before i can dye it colourful
This was such a lovely video!! The lighting and the setup and the way you spoke was so chill like we were just having a sit down conversation. I love this so much, Emma ❤ Thanks for being there!
The styling of the green wig is my favourite. The colour is nice too but just the way you have it styled with waves, a fringe, and tied up at the back looks bomb on you.
the pink was carnation pink by directions I believe, mixed with conditioner, I think it's in a video description somewhere in your early pink hair videos shows how long I've been a fan aha, so much love xx
i really liked the blonde pixie cut but i can understand so well if you don't like it or didn't feel comfortable or anything, i believe you have rocked each of your hair buts and styles :)
I cut my hair short by accident once, and because I have thick hair that is curley/wavy it looked like a triangle :/ My nickname was the illuminati.... But finally grown it down to boob level with minimal straightening (to try and flatten it) :)
Courtney Lynne yeah but because it was so bad I was terrified of having to cut it shorter to fet the layers, I just wanted to grow it out as soon as possible
Nightra Cat you wouldn't have to cut it shorter if you get layers it's just the top layers of your hair that gets trimmed. And you could always get longer layers so it's not that much of a difference between your layers and the base layer of your hair. It just adds movement!
I have super curly hair and my hair was butt length and then yesterday I got it cut and had asked for it to be boob length but because the hairdresser hadn't cut my hair before and it was wet when she dried my hair it sprung up to my ears
I shaved my head this past summer, it was so nice having a buzz cut in the heat that I worked in and I loved it so much! I did kind of struggle with some self esteem issues as well but I definitely don't regret it. Not gonna lie, you were totally part of my inspiration for doing so!!
Your favorites are mostly my favorites for what you liked in your hair! I used to dye my hair all the time & now that I don't and I invested in some good products it is SO LONG. It was shorter than your length, and in a year and a half with a 2 inch cut, it's nearly midway down my back!
I love how in this video you explain each phase your hair went through unlike most videos I've seen where it is just picture after picture without any explanation
honestly i have no idea. i've treated it well recently, hair masks, not straightening it all the time, hardly ever dyeing it - and it still grows extremely slowly. it is so frustrating
I think its cos you are aging slowly, i mean looking at 2012 you looked like a kid!, can't believe you were 20 then. Bodes well for the future :) - when your 40 you will still look like your in your 20's :D
Vloggery if it makes u feel better my sister dyed her as much as you then she bleached it one last time and it destroyed her hair fully. She didn't cut it but through a slow like months of process she was able to get it healthy but it doesn't grow like ever anymore. She wish she had my long hair. So it may be just really damaged still but I'm sure u can get there.
Emma, you are such a sweet and beautiful person. If I have an awful and exhausting day I know I can watch one of your videos to make me feel so much better. Thank you💙
I've been watching since the beginning and my gosh I've always loved your hair. You'll always rock this stuff. Hope all's good mate. Really appreciate & respect you. xx
Hey Emma. I've been having a lot of issues lately, my mental health is pretty bad and school is so stressful and I'm having mental breakdowns like every week, and you and your videos are helping so much. Even watching videos like these where you're just talking help distract me and calm me down. Thank you so much for helping me, I think you're a great person and I'm very grateful for everything you're doing. ❤
I had green hair for a bit right after quitting my job at an office, because I REALLY didn't want to work at an office again, let it grow out and then never died it again. That was 4 years ago. I guess it depends on the person, the reason why they're doing it and maybe the age, as well (I did it when I had just turned 24, so it's not as cool anymore now at 28... plus you spend so much money on it, it just doesn't seem worth it to keep up, but I'm glad my hair was a crazy color at least once in my life).
this hair timeline has helped me realise i've been subbed to you since i was 15. and i'm 19 now. aw hell yeah, i'm so glad it's been such a good time that i didn't even realise.
I cut off about 2 foot of hair (yes you read that right) 6 months ago. In that time, my hair has grown 6 inches. You read that one right as well. No point, I just wanted to brag.
Mine grows about that fast too maybe a little slower. Every couple years I get a little over a foot cut off. I often get comments on how quickly my hair grows back.
All of your old hairstyles are such a throwback. I will say I think your current hair, at least the length, is my favorite. Your current hair cut suits you really well (not that the other didn't, obviously).
It was amazing to see not only how your hair style/colour has changed over time but also looking back on the videos you had it in and how your channel style has changed as well.
You (and some others) inspired me to shave my head to raise money for cancer! I have officially signed up and organised everything, I'm shaving it in a month. I am a bit nervous, but mostly excited!!!
"People are entitled to their opinion but they are wrong" That is literally me with EVERYONE that's ever disagreed with me... A lot of people disagree with me.
The Emma Brown at 20:00 is my favorite color! I loved it so much! But your most beautiful look, in my opinion, was with the long brown extensions, last year! It looked so good!
I've only dyed my hair once and that was in August 2016. My natural color is a very dark blonde/light brown and I dyed it black. Since then, I haven't re-dyed it or cut it. And my hair has grown the same amount as Emma's has over these past few months. It's also turned a dark brown cos its fading.
I think the hair you have now, both colour and style really suits you, Emma . The natural colour is really cool too. Thanks for an interesting video :)
Ah, this was refreshing - a video I hadn't even realised I wanted, as a longtime viewer. What I find attractive obviously doesn't matter but for the record I really like your hair the way it is now. And just your style in general rn. You do you!
My favorite hairstyles you had were when your hair is long. I actually love all the wigs you had, the green was so pretty!! But, you can rock anything honestly
I love that you could dye your hair and experiment that way. My school and employment doesn't allow anything other than natural I wish I could just go crazy with dye but nope. You do you you brilliant human.
I had to stop and reassess my life for a second after spending half an hour watching you talk about your hair (the conclusion: I have no regrets), but it got me thinking about how fucking awesome you look with every hair colour but honestly now is my favourite, and it's so cute how happy you are about it. It seems to have grown loads by the way. (okay, maybe the purple wig was my favourite, just because I'm jealous as hell, but now is a close second)
I love the short green wig. Super cute!
Did she ever say where she got that green wig?
I guess you could say Emma's hair will......
Grow the distance
So we have dodie yellow and now emma brown. Soon we'll unlock the whole youtuber colour wheel
Lily Moran true:)
Lily Moran Jack green?
Harriet Emma was green first #original (jk lol it's jacks colour anyway)
Maybe Connie's pink?
Jackspeticeye is green, crank is blue, emma is brown, dodie is yellow, luke is orange, connie is pink pewds is white, marcus is grey, brizzy is red and hazel is beije, chloe dungate is purple (its a strech but i couln't think of anyone else) and dean is black. there we have the youtuber color wheel. XD
"It's just gonna stay brown, lads. Sorry."
I don't trust you for a minute, Emma Blackery
Not. One. Single. Minute.
This comment aged well 😂
Shit, I remember every single of this hair styles so vividly. How have I been here for so long?

Holy cow, your hair grows EXTREMELY slowly.

If people in the comments are thinking of dying their hair:
-leave in conditioner for 10-20 mins each wash
-argan oil is a lifesaver, use after every wash
-don't condition your roots! it only makes hair greasy and need washing faster
-try not to use heat, but if so use heat protection
-dandruff shampoo + vitamin C powder, if you want to get rid of colour
-don't rule out getting it trimmed, especially if the ends are breaking
-consider balayage or ombre - it's worth it as you don't have to maintain roots
add your tips if you have more!

What have i done
I've been loving the brown/black hair you've been rocking lately, so I'm glad that you're keeping it!
emma brown sounds like a really generic boring name 😂
VWGeorgia11 brown IS the most common last name. smith also being a generic name
HouseMDaddict i'm one to talk Johnston is a generic last name too
Dave Brown from boyinaband
I know someone called Ella Brown
Robin Johnston yay my name is boring. my sister is called Emily Brown
I love listening to you talk on this channel, it's really entertaining in such a genuine way.

The short orange pixie thing was what really made me cut my hair short and I cut my hair like that using screenshots from your videos.
I'm quite glad I'm a blonde because (even though I'm not planning to anytime soon) I can just dye it any colour without damaging my hair with bleach.
_.Its_Just_Madz._ I'm blonde to so that's gonna be helpful in the future xD
for really bright colors you're still gonna have to bleach it
Maia F nah you can't just be any old blonde and go "well, don't need to bleach it!" trust me i'm naturally blonde and i need to bleach the shit out of it so it's white before i can dye it colourful
_.Its_Just_Madz._ same!
yes i am so jealous of u blonds for that very reason can bleach is a pain in the ass

Thank you💙
I'm surprised you didn't bring up that Pokémon chart from like 2-3 years ago showing off your different hair colours as Pokémon Types XD
I've been watching since the beginning and my gosh I've always loved your hair. You'll always rock this stuff. Hope all's good mate. Really appreciate & respect you. xx
I love hair dye so much it kills me inside
Sam Wat. same :)
Strange Kat hOW??
HOW
my hair grows like an inch a year
Mae Smith It just does. I don't use any heat on it, like straighteners or hairdryers, so that probably helps.
Mine grows about that fast too maybe a little slower. Every couple years I get a little over a foot cut off. I often get comments on how quickly my hair grows back.
I don't understand inches
I cant get over the fact that ive been around to see all your hair tranformations
josh dun stole your sunshine
All of your old hairstyles are such a throwback. I will say I think your current hair, at least the length, is my favorite. Your current hair cut suits you really well (not that the other didn't, obviously).
I love these longer videos Emma
It was amazing to see not only how your hair style/colour has changed over time but also looking back on the videos you had it in and how your channel style has changed as well.
YELLOW IS MY FAVORITE COLOR ON YOU I SWEAR TO GOD
You (and some others) inspired me to shave my head to raise money for cancer!
I have officially signed up and organised everything, I'm shaving it in a month.
I am a bit nervous, but mostly excited!!!
"People are entitled to their opinion but they are wrong"
That is literally me with EVERYONE that's ever disagreed with me... A lot of people disagree with me.
i love all your hair styles because its your own thing
When I first starting watching you I got so confused with all the hair changes
The Emma Brown at 20:00 is my favorite color! I loved it so much! But your most beautiful look, in my opinion, was with the long brown extensions, last year! It looked so good!
I've only dyed my hair once and that was in August 2016. My natural color is a very dark blonde/light brown and I dyed it black. Since then, I haven't re-dyed it or cut it. And my hair has grown the same amount as Emma's has over these past few months. It's also turned a dark brown cos its fading.
I think the hair you have now, both colour and style really suits you, Emma . The natural colour is really cool too. Thanks for an interesting video :)
you are the poster child for what not to do to your hair
I am so happy about you did this video. I am only a recent follower but i am very fascinated by your changing styles!
I don't think I ever have been this early. On any video. Ever.
Adrianna Moroz wel booohoooohooo
Lol I ran up the stairs as I saw the notification on my phone.
Ah, this was refreshing - a video I hadn't even realised I wanted, as a longtime viewer. What I find attractive obviously doesn't matter but for the record I really like your hair the way it is now. And just your style in general rn. You do you!
getting bored and dying my hair is the story of my life
I feel so crazy seeing this, like I know so much of those hairstyles, i feel like Im your fan for like 100 years now.
You missed a great opportunity to call this video "My hairline"
I had to stop and reassess my life for a second after spending half an hour watching you talk about your hair (the conclusion: I have no regrets), but it got me thinking about how fucking awesome you look with every hair colour but honestly now is my favourite, and it's so cute how happy you are about it. It seems to have grown loads by the way. (okay, maybe the purple wig was my favourite, just because I'm jealous as hell, but now is a close second)
didn't you already make a video on your"hair timeline",or mabey I'm just going mad
She's done "roasting my old hairstyles"
Niamh Healy did a bit
i thought the exact same
i thought that too
Omg my names niamh
I really love the style of this video and how you'd just sit down and just chat♡
"unless youre trying to be a flag" im actually sobbing
