Whilst I really like my own country's national anthem "Advance Australia Fair" I've long thought that the most magnificent national anthem in the world is La Marseillaise!
...my mom's grandfather immigrated from France in the late 1800s -he passed away before she was born...but sh remember her dad singing this song - which he learned from his father...

I returned, after my retirement to study French and participate in the class had to take the exam.
