I feel like all of the doors that say, "This door appears to be locked," should be painted a different color, just so you don't have to waste time checking all of them while the game is in this state. Once more of them are accessible, they can make them all the same color again.
Easier solution could be a big red light on the keypad/button thing. It makes more sense than metal door changing colour. They could make it glows green too to let players know the door has been unlocked but has never been opened. Helps you get an idea when backtracking.
I wanted to share something I've found out today: When I was playing Containment Breach, I put the night vision goggles into the clockwork SCP (Forgot its number) and set it on very fine. Result: the green vision turns blue AND you can actually see where SCP's and humans are, and the distance between you and them.
It's nice if you found it out by yourself. The improved NVG is useful for locating SCPs in the corner or other rooms *BUT* the NVG reupdate its data every 10 seconds and it counts as blink. Be careful when you're approaching 173 with that on.

I don't know how a fairly top secret research facility would do it lol, but this is my best guess since I don't think they would trust just anyone to pick up after or clean places that are supposed to be more heavily secured/off limits to personnel based on security clearance.

Clearly the hallways after hallways numbering in the billions is to make it harder for SCP's to escape in the event of a breach, if they have to keep walking through all these hallways eventually they'll get tired and recontain themselves!

4 months too late but oh well. To answer the question about the Site Security calling the Janitor 'Sir', it's usually do to professionalism that High Risk Armed Security officers usually hold. If you're looking at an armed guard with any two handed weapon, it's safe to assume they were law enforcement or military. And when someone of that authority interacts with personnel, they'll (usually) treat everyone with the same amount of respect, be it someone as high as administration, or some "lowly" janitor.
i think the doors should be classified as SCP's. Not everyone is gonna be happy when it says "*This door appears to be locked*", and it'll be a keter class because of how annoying it is. Screw the requirements for SCP classification, its keter now

Hey Nepheron. In SCP CB try seed am2w I find it rlly helpful cuz of the light containment area. The moment u leave the cafetiria ( begineening) if u go right you will find lvl 1 and lvl 2 and scp 914 all in the same location. Then if you go back to the start and head left you find scp 1499 the password for the maintainance tunnels and the lift to remove light security breach. Heavy containment is also extremely easy to navigate. There is 1 thing bad about this seed wich i actually find hilarious. To find scp-008 u dont go to the heavy containment but to the light checkpoint and when you pass that it’s just 008. And you can complete the entire game without encountering 096. I say u try it out and explore it see if u like it.

I love the ammount of progress one keycard makes, it makes it a lot more enjoyable and immersive.
