THANK THANK YOU! I've been trying to get my oven door back on and your video was only one I found with exact same hinges, got it back on and my wife is happy again. 😁
Such a huge help... Thank you for making and sharing this video. I know I'm not calling a appliance repair service. THANKS TO YOU . YOU SAVED ME AT LEAST $80 FOR A SERVICE CALL NOT INCLUDING THE LABOR. ! NOW I'M ORDERING THE HINGE AND FIXING IT MYSELF..
Thank you so much for this video. I spent 50 plus min trying to figure out how to put my oven door hinge back in place until I finally found your how to video!
It worked, thanks! One tiny detail is that the new hinge came with the catch retracted and it wasn't obvious how to open it. But it opened when replacing door. Thanks again!
Mine broke cuz my cat tripped me while the oven door was open. I was so scared it would need to be like professionally repaired and cost a ton but im so glad this video exists and explains so well. Thank uou!
Thanks again AppliancePartsPros! This time, the kids and I fixed the hinge on the oven door! $45 in parts, 1/2 hour of labor. I think I should take us out to dinner for what we just saved in a service call!
Thanks for the very helpful video...it gives us confidence in putting our oven door back together and installing it! We appreciate you doing it and will buy parts from you in future! Beth
For putting the door back together, one may find it easier to flip the door and lay the inside cover on the table/floor first as opposed to the opening/disassembly procedure where the inside cover faces you.
thank you, thank you - On putting the door back in I could not get the door to shut properly, even after rotating locking tab, it would close to high, (couldn't figure what I was doing wrong) - but as you suggested I then aligned the *hinge notch* - rotated the locking tab and then door shut correctly. Note while I was doing these procedures I kept the door in the open position.
Got the door off and apart on my own, but then I was in trouble trying to get it back together. Thank you! The only thing that makes me mad is the realization that my $1500 Kitchenaid stove is the exact same as a $500 Maytag.
Lol, this has got to be the most ridiculous design for an oven door. Literally need to line up a thousand things and only at the end hold it down with what? 4 screws. What a joke to save 2 cents worth of material. Hope you were able to succeed!
My current predicament 🤦♀️ I didn't think it would be so difficult to put back together. I just wanted to clean all the glass 😂 now I've got pieces of over door everywhere mixed up all the screws. Got the insulation wet. Hot mess express over here. I was ready to just go buy a new stove 😂
Matt, this was such an excellent video. It walked me through the entire process with incredible clarity. Thank you so much for your effort. Well done!!
great vid but I never could get right hand side to release. All I had to do was replace oven element so it wasn't a big deal. Wish I could figure out why right side wouldn't release. ??
Very helpful Got hinges replaced and door back on but hinges seem to be very tight and door will not stay open all the way without my knee holding it back. Do these hinges relax overtime?
I would double check with your model number to make sure you got the correct hinges. They do make similar hinges with different springs. For example a stainless steel door is heavier than glass so it would have a different spring. If they are correct then double check that they were installed properly.
I have a Bosch wall oven with lower hinges. I have seen older videos which don't use up to date models. I can't get the door apart to get to the hinges. The door seems to not want to come apart at the top and there are no screws to get to the top or handle.
All the models vary but yet they are all similar. You will have to take the door off the oven. Then set it on a table and take the door apart to get at the hinges. You can go to our site and enter your model number, then look at the breakdown of the door to view it all apart. You can also post the question on our repair forum and the techs will help you out.
gonepriused I'm not sure I follow what the problem is. You can post any questions along with the model number of the appliance, on our repair forum and the techs will help you out.
+Chris Anspach You can go to our website and enter your appliance model number to view the part list to be sure you get the correct part for your model.
My 27 yr. old stove must be made different. I don't have that piece you show to manually move before taking the door off. My problem is that sometimes the door will only shut so far--where the door would be considered ajar. Funny thing is that it opens with no problem. I usually can get it shut by opening fully and trying to shut it a few times. Tonight it just won't shut. To take my door off, all I have to do is lift up and pull out. I was hoping that maybe I just have one side out too far and have to wiggle it into place and it will shut, but so far no luck. Do you think I just have to properly align it or do you think I need new hinges? GEEZ, being so old and sold by Kenmore, if I need hinges I hope they still sell them. Thanks for sharing your video.
UPDATE: This morning while the sun is in the kitchen I managed to find the problem. The right hinge would move until the "ajar" position, then it gets stuck and pushing on the door just makes it lift out of position. I remembered I had a can of WD-40 and gave it a spray/move door/wait/repeat and now all is well. The hinge is still making a funny noise so I imagine it will have to be replaced eventually (if the stove doesn't die first). The only markings I can see on it is that it's a Sears Kenmore Mark 3 and I know it was purchased in 1979. Is that enough info to find a hinge?
Have an amana took 6hours to remove door after changing the igniter door no close . The locks wouldn't come out .tabs broke off impossible job .sawzall required only releases when door closed
Watch this video for reinserting the door of a Whirlpool Oven, WFE770HOFZ2. The manufacturer instruction book is poorly drawn, and instructions are not correct in my view. We spent 45” trying to use the book. Using this video, we had it reinstalled in less than 60 seconds. Thank you!
The hinge on my Jenn-Air model JDS9860ACB does not come away with the door as shown in this video. There is no movable tab that allows you to remove the door with the hinge attached. The hinge stays with the oven when you remove the door and is held to the door frame with two screws. . The spring broke on one of the hinges, and it is necessary to replace the whole hinge--part #74011142. Because the spring was broken I was able to extricate the old hinge, but I'm unable to install the new one. It has to be inserted from behind the door frame, and there doesn't seem to be enough clearance to get the hinge positioned. Am I doing something wrong?

We do not have any information on this model. You might try a forum closer to home or try the manufacturer.

The first thing I would try is to apply a high-temperature oil to the hinges and see if this stops the problem.
