Be sure to tell the individual to look away from you, spitting and biting will happen if you let them turn their face into your leg like that. That was always part of set up after applying a wrist lock and taking someone down, or even a compliant prone....just because they listen at first doesn't mean they will stay that way if an opportunity presents itself. Bites can do alot of damage and transmit something you don't want.
Its not per se - There is no case law on the issue. The George Floyd case is likely to end very badly for the government because they're going to have to make a showing under Graham v. Connor before they otherwise proceed with proffering the elements of homicide. The case could very well end up being removed to federal court because of that issue. (This is because interpretation of law arising under the U.S. constitution falls under federal question jurisdiction which belongs to Article-III courts.) There's also a chance the FBI might be called to testify against the state in that case as well.
It’s not illegal. What Chauvin did was stupid. You can put your knee down on them for as long as necessary to effect the arrest. After he’s cuffed, it’s over. He just didn’t know when to stop.
@@Rokaize the proper technique is to have your left foot a little further back from the head and shoulder area so when you kneel down your knee is on the shoulder not on the back and that way the person can still breathe. You also have the option of just having your knee on the ground beside the head you just have to make sure that your right knee is as close to the elbow area of the arm that is being controlled so it helps make it easier to control by pinning it in place.
@@nor031 How are you going to control someone if the only points of contact are on the edges of his body? You aren’t controlling anyone with your knee on his shoulder. An arrest isn’t supposed to be pleasant or comfortable so why not just totally dominate the guy you’re arresting? Either way. The cuffs were on Floyd so literally none of what Chauvin did was necessary.
1:11 Why do officers start with the 'Left' hand, as most people are 'RIGHT' handed, he can use more force with his RIGHT hand if he were to became violent ??? I dont get it ????
He started with that hand because he moved in from the offenders left side thus facing his weapon side away from the offender. If you notice, when he approached his weapon was pointed away from the offender. If when he approached and offender would have tried to make a move, he could pivot away keeping his weapon away from the offender.
Loose the last technique. Earlier in the video, you discouraged stepping over a suspect who was already handcuffed, so now you want to step over his head before you have him controlled. Also, for non-LE security officers, etc., the prone position is normally the end of the takedown technique and when done properly you have a knee on the ground. Why stand up and start over?
😳 You forgot the safety factor for the suspect not to become a victim. 😳The prone position is also how you kill by asphyxiation! 👀 The correct way is found here: ua-cam.com/video/rM2LTcyS63M/v-deo.html
Some people are prone to handling a taser and can fight it or the officer could potentially miss the target and they can also fight off pepper spray also the suspect could have a lethal weapon

Not a huge fan of switching hands on the cuff while only having one hand controlled. But I like it other than that.

And I was actually searching for real techniques
Now with kneeing the back or neck being illegal how we do that prone technique?

@@c.r.chandler5905 Thanks for info !
You didn't lock the cuffs!

Drawing a firearm is standard protocol in a felony stop.
You never place the knee on the neck.
