I am just amazed by how many things you learn simultaneously. You have grad school, UA-cam, norwgian, french, japanese, and what not... And then exercise, violin, art ! WOW... Awesome
Ah it made me so happy to see another upload, thank you so much for another video! ~ I feel like anything academic is at least twice as hard during summer cause doing anything is just exhausting. Hope you have a wonderful summer nonetheless - oh btw, are you still planning on doing the video on female Mathematicians? :)
I love the vibes of your videos 😍 it was so interesting to see some of the maths you do too (even though I don’t understand any of it 😂) keep it up with the awesome videos!!!
Yes, exactly! There is a 1-1 correspondence between young diagrams of shape lambda (where lambda is a partition of n) and irreducible representations of S_n. There is also a some relationship between young diagrams and irreducible representations of SL_n, but I'm not so familiar with it :)
In some ways, I'm glad I stumbled upon ur channel. I have always wanted to go to grad school and even a Phd program, but was a bit hesitant because I was told I was going to have zero life outside of school and work. But it seems like it is possible to have a little bit of life outside of school and research. I didn't want to give up on some of my hobbies..lol
Hahah, yeah it's definitely possible to still have hobbies! A lot of people in my department play in sports leagues, some practice their instruments, volunteer etc. :)
@@PastelAcademic Extremely grateful that you commented 🙏 Can u please tell me how to I develop tge creative thinking. Maybe , from continuous practice?
Yeah they definitely can! I believe most people can become good at math. What is sad is that a lot of people are so scared of math and they assumed they are bad at it, without really giving themselves a chance. So you can get good at math if you work at it :-)

You’re goals 😮 I hope to be you in a few years! You’re heckin adorbz 🥰
Aww haha, thank youuu 🥰
Great to see you working on some nice math again. Take care :)
Thanks :)

Thank you, I hope you do as well! And yes I will, but probably after I’m done with my comprehensive exam (it’s in September) :)
i love how you include all the math!,thank you,and it looks so cool,i would love to collab with you someday haha!
Thank you! Yes, that would be super cool!!

Thank you so much! 💕
DONT BE SHY!!!! LET US BUY THOSE STICKERS/PRINTS!!!!!!! also love the vlog, I hope exercise class is still fun!!
hahaha, I need to reopen my etsy shop! 😅 But some stickers are on my redbubble :) and thank you! It still is fun :)
I just found out about young diagrams recently they’re pretty cool, don’t they show the module decomposition or something

Awesome and inspiring ❤

At what should I do to get good at maths at a very early age
Try to do those “math contest” problems. Usually they require some creative thinking to solve and are more fun than stuff you learn in high school.

inspirational content....Superb!
Thank you!
Wow, you're so smart!!!
xD
Does it require natural ability to get a PhD in Maths ? Pls tell. Can't a person work extremely hard and get good at maths
Yeah they definitely can! I believe most people can become good at math. What is sad is that a lot of people are so scared of math and they assumed they are bad at it, without really giving themselves a chance. So you can get good at math if you work at it :-)
So mostly you work from home ?

Hi, can one study for a PhD in math if you already have a master and PhD in medicine
Hi, sorry for the super late reply! Yeah, I don’t see why not. You just have to be mentally prepared to be in school for another 4-5 years.
@@PastelAcademic What sounds harder to your "ears"? 1. Masters Degree in Mathematics or 2. Masters Degree in Statistics?
Nice content... keep going
Please In which university are you studying for a PhD?
Thank you :) I study at Queen’s University in Canada
How many hours should a Maths PhD student should study
Hmmm 🤔 I try to do 4 hours of research per day. The rest of the time is devoted to teaching duties, seminars, etc.
How did you get so good at maths
I had some natural abilities, and I worked really hard. Basically I kept trying until I understood whatever was confusing.
Wow, what a complicated PhD, I could never.
Like most things, I think it just takes time, and there are many people out there capable of doing this :)
Nice to meet you
