Thank you and glory goes First and only to God, for using Rhett Walker and the Rhett Walker Band to write and preform such a beautiful and amazing song, it is I think my favorite song of all time. When mercy found me their other song I like as much is the song that is my life song (life verse), I normally don't write comments but I believe it is something I must do, if only to tell you not to forget to have mercy towards others, and forgive others,.... I'm sure others that read this and say well I do, I really do hope that is the case and maybe you do,... it isn't my place to say if you do or if you didn't. I am only writing to remind others of the parable Jesus told about mercy and forgiveness , that is so important that you do, if you don't you could wind up like the ungrateful servant,
    Matthew 18:21-35
    New International Version
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
keep in mind the servant his family and all he owned originally was just going to be sold to pay off the debt, (a debtors prison) but because he chose not to have compassion and show mercy by forgiving someone who owed him, after being forgiven so much,...
he and his family and all he owns, will not be sold to pay back that debt he owed the king instead a fate far more worse than that has befallen him and him alone,... he and he alone will be handed over to the torturers.
    Matthew 6:14-16
    New International Version
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
I have heard it said that , "It may be infinitely worse to refuse to forgive than to murder, because the latter may be an impulse of a moment of heat, whereas the former is a cold and deliberate choice of the heart."
the list is long on people who have said that and Clive Staples Lewis c.s. lewis being one of them,
I will leave you to do with it as you wish,
to either take to heart, show mercy and forgive others, because if you do you truly will be set free and you will have Life and have it more abundantly.
for this is how I take it and choose to live by - anything and everything must be forgiven in order to be forgiven, a debt is a debt weather it be money someone owes, or emotional debt were it is something someone should have done but didn't or did do but shouldn't have, It is spiritual slavery. Not for the offender but the offended, because the one who chooses to not forgive a root of bitterness will give way to resentment and a spirit fanaticism will set in, giving birth to rage and a place no one wants to be complete and utter depravity the point of no return. Show mercy and forgive others is what I will do regardless.
