So Bowyer, and Truex Jr. get penalized for doing the same thing, but Logano and Gilliland don't? seems legit.
+Wyatt Jennings i think its because bowyer wrecked purposely and it affected the whole race. Drivers cut deals all the time, this was just another one lol
Bowyer spun out on purpose so Martin Truex Jr could get in the Chase so they can try to get a championship
Gilliland and Logano were private. Bowyer affected everything
Bowyer's spin brought out the caution but Gilliland still gave away a spot... and it's not private in a public sport... I know deals are made all the time but getting caught makes it illegal... as someone said numerous times... if you aint cheating you aint trying and also, it aint cheating if you don't get caught... well 4 teams were caught only 2 got punished...

This is basically manufacturer partners working together. I don't like the idea of pulling over and letting people pass, but that's how teams help their manufacturer or partner teams at times.

I know I'm replying to this only a couple minutes late, but it's like F1. If your teammate in F1 is faster than you, your team is gonna tell you to let him by.
"The committee knows what I have been asking for....." That is the crew chief wanting the shocks for some races. They have the same motors, the shock package is what makes the difference

I agree they wanted the Penske shock package. I also think they wanted the data/telemetry from the Penske engineers on the shaker rig simulators. At $800,000 for the basic setup For a team that cannot afford the 7 post shaker rigs much less the newer style simulators getting this handed to you on a flash drive would be huge.
Front Row wanted Penske equipment. They traded up for it. They didn't spin out or spin out competition. I don't see an issue legally. I don't like it, but that doesn't make it illegal.

@@AEMoreira81 Joey Logano would’ve been penalized the points and kicked out of the case if it were not for Spingate. He was lucky. Logano was a non-factor in this chase.

I really don't wanna know this. I have a lot of respect for Roger Penske. He's one of the greatest owners in motorsports. This is like finding out Santa isn't real. Bowyer was one thing, this is another :,( Then again, every sport has cheating.

Asking somebody to give a spot and they'll give you something in return is cheating. It's also bribing. It's what's been going on in college sports for years. It's wrong. And they aren't teammates. They are on different teams. If these were Toyota teams or MWR, you guys would be criticizing in a huge way.

Hope Logano is bounced out of the Chase. I'm sure both Gordon & Hamlin are licking their chops right now. Gordon for Logano's spot and Hamlin for karma.
To much is being made of this. I believe Nascar needs to further restrict this type of stuff from happening in the future. But this has been going on for a long time, from Gordon, to Earnhardt, to many other greats. Suddenly with all this technology we have, the fans have ability to listen to in car radios and make big deals out of everything that happens. I think many fans are destroying this sport with being to hypocritical.

Come on they're acting like this is breaking news. Every true NASCAR fan knows this goes on in practically every race near the end of the "regular season" and in the "playoffs." Who cares if the drivers r cutting deals on the track, is NASCAR trying to be like F-1 now? And another question y is it called Overtime and not Overdrive? There isn't a time limit, but they is extra miles driven.

Fined yes, taken out of the chase nope. This is why. Even if Joey was not given that position he would of ended up tying Jeff Gordon. Joey Logano would of beat Jeff Gordon on the tie breaker due to his win. And if you remember Dale Sr., Jeff Gordon, and numerous and I mean numerous drivers have done this type of stuff. Supposibly, Hendricks team did the same thing that night. When Jimmie crashed, Gordon got a lap back and trapped many good cars(cars Gordon was racing with) a a lap down.
