This is a really great guide! It's now a year old and with the recent influx of players it would be great if you can make an updated version with info on the current state of the clans if they have changed since.
I'd like to give another mention of older comments, and perhaps ask for an updated guide now that the Rat clan is out. I know this video took a long while to make, but it would really, really help if you actually put things on screen while talking about them, aside from just being in the menu. The menu screens help, but it would be very nice with some splash-images of the various lores and such (With the mouse-over tooltips displayed), and mentions of other special game mechanics that some have mentioned in the comments. Sometimes it really helps that we can see and read what you're talking about, as opposed to just hearing it, but I do really appreciate this guide. It's very helpful, but it *could* be better. Also could be more eye-catching to maybe have some gameplay of the clan you're talking about in the background, maybe even showing the effects of the various lores explained by straight up showing it in action. Might make the guide even more crazy long, but hey, that's why we're here. Alternative, could make several videos, a guide to each clan, instead of making a 2 hour video on all of them combined.

Can we get a updated version with the new buffs? I like the raven clan myself a lot, and now with the +15% at *ALL* Kröwns income and the 10% Kröwns discount on the great trade routes, the extra fame from scouting and the army bonus from 'Gear Upgrade' lore, I think they are pretty good.

Ohh wow, I was really disheartened when I realised what you meant by not showing the lore trees. I was confused by not understanding what he was talking about when the penny dropped from reading your comment, it was the lore technology that wasn't shown on the screen. This video could have been soooo good, and it isn't because of what you mentioned being missing.
Great guide for a great game, thank you Im new at this game, so your video really helped me to get into Northgard. My personal favorite clans right now are Kraken and Bear
In this game, everyone plays with the same clans all the time.(Boar, Bear Stag, Ox, Horse ) I played like 25 ranked match(most of matches won by Stag and Boar) and ı've never seen anyone playing with the snake, kraken, dragon or squirrel clans.
I hope I am not wrong and now make me look foolish :D (Talking about Raven Clan) Negotiators should be tier 2 lore since last patch, with Mining Effiicency being the first. :) Also something I am currently trying out a little is to build an army with shield beares and axethrowers. The only military lore point of the raven gives units not only damage depending on active sailors and merchants but also defense (up to 20% - 2% per sailor/merchant). So both units get a good amount of their "main" stat. And since your upgrade costs are also halved you spend the same amount of iron on military as other clans. Not sure if that is better than just going for berserkers tho. I am barely playing competitive but only with friends just for fun. :) Would be interested in your opinion with all your competitive experience! :) Anyway - Thanks for the video mate! Why not go for Axe Throwers with the Kraken clan? They are more expensive than the other units (I think?), so the 20% less cost for warbands might come in handy here?

The Kraken clan is OP. People hate on it for not having a dock, but the fact they can have 2 additional building slots and valkyrie units (and warchief) is such an advantage. IMO Ox is the worst tribe, with only one worker per building (scouts get shafted).
The Ox Clan was a very early DLC clan that came to the game, i guess when it was invented it was meant to be that "straight" forward clan. Like the curse of all rts games, this game got played so fast paced a lot has changed and the actual design got a little bit lost.
On the lynx: Wait. Luring an enemy into a trap and him getting decimated because of it is regarded as an exploit? wat? Isn't that the entire idea of a trap? Unwarned surprised damage?
Do you say "temple" clan or "tempo" clan? I hear "temple" (google subtitles says so), but that doesn't makes much sense for me, or does it mean something?
Tempo clans, have a certain window in which they are really good (like boar in early 802), but then slowly lose to full eco clans that only get stronger with time.
I play the game for years so i just know them :D theres also a Northgard wiki you can check out tho. (some infos might be outdated but better then nothing i guess)
Signy can place 2 lures if you steal the huntet mastery lore and it sort gives the snake a a lot food but it fells a lot more like a pick you take if you need food fast and have been needed it for a While had it save me in one game where my farm tile was bugged with a small pund 🤔
They can be pretty good in slower gamemodes, but pretty bad in teamgames, in which you opponents can just attack on another flank if they please and never even step a foot on your towered tile (tower cost and upkeep is also pretty significant)
I wish Lynx clan had anything in their tree or conquest bonuses to become good at macroing... It's really strong in my 24 villagers build, but I can't get anything going for a clan sized 40ish or more...
You're always invited ;) I'm not the biggest fan of tierlists, since most people take it as a way to definite answer to clan strenght, which can highly variate between matchup and spawns, but maybe at some point :P
good in ffa, but in any other game mode it's very hard to get to the point where you can run 10 sailors/merchants, have a nice army and not starve almost instantly. If you can get to that point though it is far better than military strat. getting a mimisbrunnr with field rations when you're doing the gear upgrade raven is pretty nutty.
isn't the production bonus of the stags 500 fame bonus 15%? (10% base 5% as you already have 500 fame and get +1% for every 100) ps: just something I noticed: you pronouce bear like beer. I did that as well when I was learning english. can lead to some funny misunderstandings :D.

What does it mean to clear a clan? Does that just mean help them clear the surrounding areas?

I've been trying to make Dragon work but the population is always a problem
well thats pretty situational, I'm pretty sure snake, kraken and squirrel are pretty close to the top clans right now

Has the giant been buffed for Dragon Clan? As of 2022
yes they got some great buffs - now you can have more giants + they are similar to the dragonkin but just a lot stronger

I don't understand some of the terms as a new player such as cleared rtc
clearing means to kill neutrals like wolves or draugrs to get access to the tiles.

i think stag and raven are kinda meh. every other clan is in at least a solid spot. If any clan is S+ tier it is definitely goat.
