How can we prepare for a race we know very little about?!

- We signed up to our first 20 miler as part of our prep for the Wang Chan Ultramarathon in 2 weeks BUT there is so little information about the race that the prep is a little tricky! So how can we prepare for a race we know very little about? We scratch around, find out what we can and run anyway!!

You guys are amazing! Just completed my first 5k yesterday! Talk about going in blind. All I had was an address, and lucky for me the temperature dropped to -8c!

This was the first race of the year and I was within 1 minute of my pb. Considering I had issues with my running apparel (too many layers restricting movement), and a strong icy head wind I’m fairly satisfied.
(if you haven't already) would you do a video on injury prevention?

Great video as always, just got to go with it sometimes. I've got the London landmarks half marathon on the 3rd April running for Tommy's, I'm going to watch the time Mary ran it again, really looking forward to running it. Also my youngest (Daisy, 7) has a severe nut allergy with a EpiPen, I showed her the bit with you talking in the restaurant, as dangerous as it is she thought it was cool that someone on you tube was like her.

@@ThisMessyHappy Interesting! But makes sense too. I look forward to seeing the video. I can't get my head around the mad start times. It must play havoc on you mentally and physically but at the same time another great learning experience.
I will have just picked up the BIX (three pack) as I finished my SOS today :) , even sent them an idea for distributing smaller tabs via a dispenser (like the old PEZ candy) for road runners , could pop two quickly into the water they hand out :)

@@ThisMessyHappy I'm one of the disappointed ones 😔 Ah well, I'll try again next year! Question - besides London, what's your favourite marathon course in the UK? My preference is flat but off-road and hopefully somewhere in the north close to Manchester..
It is described as a trail race, not a road race.

Location looks amazing. Hope it went well and looking forward to seeing how it went. Quick question,how many gels did you use and do you use them at a set time lime me or just when you think you need one?
Thanks Mike. I used 3 gels in the end. One every 45 minutes. On a harder effort I use them every 30. And don’t use them at all for efforts under 1 hour 😊🤟🏼
