Lotta body curling lotion changed my life. I also used to rely on literally pinning my hair into shape like you did, because my hair would not curl. Wet set with no product was the best for my (maybe 3-4 hours of curl), before I started using Lotta Body (I had tried another lotion once before). Lotta Body even allows me to heat style my hair. I also have fine hair that slow dries, and I use metal ventilated rollers, which began in the late Victorian or Edwardian era, and were really popular from the 20's to 40's.
If you’re looking for a setting lotion, try a homemade flax lotion! It’s quick to make, cheap, no crunch/flakey but helps the hair hold! I use 1tsp of flax seed + 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, boil for 6 minutes until it thickens a bit. Lasts a week in the fridge. I’ve made this for months now! It’s my favourite!
Thanks for the tip! I love a good DIY! I just got myself a bottle of Lottabody setting lotion but because I'm in Australia it's hard to get. I'm going to try this recipe for sure!
This was so creative! The piling on top overnight is so simple but so smart! I can never make it past a 3 day, so I'll try some of these now!! Lotta body has a foaming pump dispenser style bottle that I find is much easier to use than the mixing and spraying methods. You can also just make some if you gave flaxseed at home and see how that worka
I use lotta body setting lotion I got a huge jug of it at sally beauty and put it in my spray bottle diluted with water and it’s lasted a long time and it’s pretty good 👍🏻
Wow! This is such a helpful video! You dont't know, how long I searched for a video, where I can see, how to do the hair for night the next days after a wet set.
I never thought of using a hair net. I have kinky curly hair and the brush out may be bomb but then my hair will revert at the smallest bit of humidity 😂
Maybe avoid the conditioner. I stopped using conditioner because it makes my hair too smooth. I need the grip for my hair to hold better. I need to look into hair conditioner in the olden days, but I doubt they used any. Frizz would have been smoothed with pomade or hair spray anyway?!
All that work setting your hair, back combing & styling! Just go to the local cosmetology school $10- ask for a senior student for a wet set & styled . Instructor are on the floor to help out. Relax and get your hair done stress free! Bring your own hair gel, the schools is water down.
