Classic Australian pub rock (or post punk / power pop according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sunn...) - live at the Bombay Rock, Melbourne on October 18, 1981.
I mean, there was The Hoodoos, Sparklers, Died Pretty and all the northern beaches bands, but then these guys. We followed them from the George Hotel. They were something else
'The Sunnyboys' were to me, .... & even now, one of the best things that happened to Australian music. I was so lucky to see them back when they were playing small pubs. It's also amazing & great to me that people are enjoying/celebrating their journey & what their doing now. Me & my amateur band back in the early 80's practised for so many hours to play their songs & also at some gigs. But as much as we all tried to 'pull the sound' together, we never even came close to the raw & tight sound of them 4 Sunnyboys. GAZZA
I went to every Vic gig sometimes on my own as my mates got pissed off with my obsession. My HG Prem with a 3 speed and a 253 took me all over Vic.These guys spoke my language and prevented me committing suicide. I owe these guys my life. Tierneyco.au@gmail.com
It doesn't get much better than these fellas when in comes to uplifting melodies. This is authentic Australian Rock 100% and so underrated most every song they do is infectious. I can't get enough of them. Best anti-depressive I tell ya!
Just seen a repeat of the Sunnyboys doco. Finding this video, completes the picture - validates an awesome story, with 3 awesome participants. Just wonderful, and such a privilege to be able to observe this steady healing.
I saw them live at Caringbah Pub in the 80's. Only saw them once but it was the best gig I ever saw. It was just amazing. Drunk and non stop dancing what a band.
Bombay Rock.....way ahead of its time..........anyone out there ever remembers "The Jump Club"? South Yarra, Melbourne, the city that has everything Sydney doesn't...
He reminded my so much of Brian Wilson when I watched the doco. Same vacant stare and he's pretty big. Could have been years of overindulgence setting off a pre-existing condition. Some people just aren't wired to live the sex drugs and r & r for too long. Also the pressure to write the band's stuff to come up with quality and to sell would be very tough for one person to do. Pretty sure he was sole writer in The Sunnyboys
I'd like to get in touch with who ever posted this clip to find out how I might access the footage of this live performance. I would like to use it in my documentary "The Sunnyboy". Please contact me via my Sunnyboy FB page. Thanks (Kaye Harrison - Director)

Beautiful also to see a too young Richard Burgmann. Canada’s gain is our loss
So much respect for Richard Burgman . Always immaculate , always underated , and selfless . Jeremy must of been a handful in his dark days .
Spot on Brad. We saw the Sunnyboys last weekend and that’s exactly what we saw from Richard.
Most underrated Aussie band by a long way. Anyone who’s seen them live would have to agree. The blue album has to be top ten of Aussie rock albums.
Still setting things up for the offer go go you good luck 👍. Same but good different. Love ❤️ auroa puppy and pauly Dostalek here 😍 angels 😇

I got to see their final gig at the Seaview Ballroom in 1984....unforgetable.
I used to go see these guys at the local pub. Great time to be young in the early 80s,
One of the tightest bands I saw around the traps in Sydney 80s.
What a great underrated band man
They were just as good live as they were on record. Love this band.

Given Jeremy's history, this is a very personal song, love the Sunnyboys.
The dark clouds hanging over his head

It's rock. Forget all the other stupid terms ...
He actually did have trouble in his brain. Makes the song very poignant.
