Oh wow. This is the first time I’ve truly appreciated this sonata. I can finally say I’ve “understood” it! Sokolov’s playing made me understand this sonata that I’ve hated and loathed for years! I studied this sonata yeaaaaars ago and I truly hated it and now it’s finally changed! ❤️
I discovered G.SOHOLOV last sunday with P.CASSARD a French talentuous pianist on French Music Radio. He explained SOKOLOV's brillant technique. Also the absolute divine & delicate Handtechnique ....each Note is played for itself as You said ‼️ 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎 So I share your feeling ...I 'm myself in levitation 😶😔 f R a N c I n E in Paris 🎹 ....The Maestro will play in Champs Elysées next May, 31st, 23 ...shall I book for You ❓❓
@@jamesnickoloff6692 This was actually demanded of the performer historically speaking. Mozart himself would improvise ornaments when playing his own pieces. Regardless I think the ornamentation is appropriate and enhances the piece.
@@jamesnickoloff6692 Maybe that is the point. There are alot of Mozart "haters" out there who will detract from his genuine genius any way they can. ua-cam.com/video/Ai0JGadwwx0/v-deo.html That is Ben Kim, who does a nice job.
@@WilliamZhouPiano clearly not. Dude can't even handle basic rubato. When all you have is technique, may aswell have a computer replace you, and stick to performing at family gatherings.
perfect speed and very expressive ,just enough.
Sokolv's trills are so tight. It is incredible.
For real!😂
what a nice, delicate, tender sonata! Sokolov's performance makes it so interesting to listen
😂😂😂
One of the best recordings I ever heard
Sokolov perfection.

What does this mean?

Doy fe de que la partitura no es fiel a lo que se escucha
😂😂😂
Mui bien
Sokolov is playing notes that are not written here. Is this his doing, or is the text incorrect?
The text is correct. Sokolov is just adding his own ornamentation
@@lunar.6091 To Mozart? Is anyone allowed to do this???
In my opinion what Sokolov adds actually DETRACTS from the pathos of Mozart's writing.

terrible rubato
Bro, Sokolov is way better than you, and he is a pianist.

Yeah, your right
Like really, you are right, because I replayed it again and yes it does have terrible rubato.
@@WilliamZhouPiano the rubato is fine. people like to write hyperbolic things for attention.
