Project Inkdown:

I'm sharing the inks and pens from this past week and how I can totally talk a pen down in my head and then be completely surprised by how lovely it performs. I have exactly the number of pens needed to use a different pen daily for this month. For some reason, my pen collection always feels huge, but I'm struggling to find 31 pens. That's still a good number of pens, but not as much as it feels.

That spicy chipotle is amazing! Glad that the pelikan and the scribo have been redeemed of their previous reputation. It's always disappointing when a more expensive item does not perform as expected.

I’m gonna admit I love bicolor nibs for this very reason. It drives me nuts when the nib doesn’t match the trim 😂

That spicy chipotle ink makes me think of Diamine Oxblood, it would need some more brown element.... (Looks up swatches)

I didn't notice the silver nib with the gold trim. Obviously mixing nib and trim doesn't bother me.

Great comments on inks and pens!! Personally, I hate dry pens and slower ink flow, so I gravitate towards M/B japanese nib sizes. As much as I love Sailor's designs, I find most of the MF nibs are not wet enough for me. To compensate, I like using De Atramentis inks on them, which is the faster flowing ink brand I've tried out. It works perfectly in balance. 👌
