Use Dawn dish soap and a brush to pull the oils off the micarta and dry it fast with a blow dryer, heat gun, air gun. That’s how I get my Denim Micarta to look like light blue pants then slowly turns into a dark indigo blue.
I handled one this afternoon (07/18/2023) in the shop where I hang out in. They got a new delivery of Real Steel knives. The action really reminds me of my Mini Griptilian. The thing about this is I'm a bit leery of the omega springs. With my Benchmade, I know where I can get spare springs. I snapped the ones on my SOG TAC XR and I can't find any replacements.
Even if the color isn't exactly what you were thinking, this is still a really great looking knife.
Thanks I agree. I wash is in alcohol thinking I could get that lighter blue. Didn't work but I'm digging it anyway.
Thanks so much for the video my friend! Micarta is a very tricky material when it comes to colors because as soon as any oils get into the structure it becomes very dark (unless it's a linen micarta polished to a shine). This is canvas so I assume maybe it was cleaned with some WD40 and that will make it go dark. Using it will make it go dark (skin oils). It was always true with machined micarta even from the early days of Chris Reeve using it on the Green Beret - it was light olive green at the beginning but after some handling it became almost black :) Stay tuned for the G10 versions as those should keep the factory color much better ;)
Oh man thanks for stopping in. I’m pretty biased I love your designs man. 😂 I have almost all your production knives. I really like the Sacra out of the box. It is a little more blue than I originally thought. When I did the unboxing I thought it was black.
Any color is fine. What I like most is the blade and the way the action works as a crossbar lock. I forget what Real Steel calls it. Honestly I haven’t put it away. It’s on rotation in my carry still.
I saw those G10 models. I plan on ordering them as well. I was wondering if we would see a titanium version in the future? My favorite design of yours is the Phasma. I carried the premium thumbstud version today.
I’ve been told by a few people that the Sacra blade reminds them of Chris Reeve knife.

@@TheLastRanger I'm very glad that you appreciate my designs, that's always great to hear! Being compared to Chris Reeve designs is not a bad thing at all I guess :) Certainly he left an impression in my early years and the same goes for a few other great makers. As for the titanium, it is extremely difficult to create a bend like that with Ti as it is much harder than stainless steel, but all I can say is keep your eye out as the folks at Real Steel are working hard to make it happen ;)
Clean it with alcohol and it will pull oil out of the micarta

They make some really good knives. You might look at the Sidus, also by Poltergeist, the G5 Metamorph regular and mini and definitely the Rokot. On the smaller side Poltergeist also did the Luna in locking and slip joint versions for them. Damn I seem to have acquired a lot of Real Steels. 🤣

Maybe it has some factory oil on the micarta making them darker. Could try cleaning them.

I'm torn. It's a nice looking knife that uses the same construction as some utility knives I paid $10 for 3 of. Folded sheet steel isn't a real high quality construction method. But like I say I'm torn I really like Real Steel and Poltergeist. I look forward to the review.
I thought the same thing. I'm still torn about the construction. Its a fun and well made knife, it seem solid. But yeah folded over steel ehhh? I'll have to think about it a little while. But really do like the knife. Been carrying it a few days now.

How is it in/out of the pocket? The screws on the clip are really big aren't they
Yeah they are mushroom tipped screws but I have had no issues. I tend to wear BDUs though. Not jeans. The pants I wear are thinner than jeans.
They will be replaced with low profile screws, more than likely when you purchase the knife it will come with low profile screws as the factory is changing them as we speak.
