The Pi chip traces above and below that choke are a common point to burn out as well having said that it's great to point out that you should always check with good old continuity.

Good video! I rarely see the chokes fail, its usually the IC. Good tip on using an iPhone 6 donor board

I once got a 6S Plus that had not a single data choke, they were replaced by jumpers and image was completely fine! Of course I went ahead and replaced with the real part but it was a proof that values on parts don’t matter THAT much, some parameters matter more than others

The Nintendo Switch of my brother in law also got this issue lately. I guess it is due to same issues caused. Thx for sharing a great repairing tutorial 👏🏻. I will definitely try to fit it for him.

Awesome explanation. I see this is the regular switch correct? Where will this be in the Oled Version? Tnx in Avance. Subscribed! 😊

I'm having this problem but for me the display works for a few mins when cold-booting the console before it gives up as it warms up.
Will definitely take a closer look at those pads, there's most likely one that's hanging for its dear life and the pads lift as the board heats up. Thanks a lot for this very informative video!

I have this issue and notice this as well. When the console is cold it works for a bit. Tried to run with a fan directly pointed at the switch but it didn't work.

I’m having this exact problem with my switch but I haven’t taken the time to learn soldering let alone micro soldering lol maybe one day I’ll be able to fix this myself

actually it is a very known problem in Nintendo Switch, I seen a lot of them blown up without special reason. One more thing, when you check this filters, you have to check by diagonal as well, there should be no short between 2 lines, I sometimes see that as well.

I have this issue with mine but I have to hit the power button after it's on the dock to get it to come on.... Sometimes lol. There's probably a deeper issue as it never didnt do it at first. One time I switched out HDMI cables and it worked too. So annoying lol

A multi-meter can lie if there is a lot of current. You can have continuity, but when you put some load on it, it won't work.
