It is a requiem called Umi Yukaba, a quasi-national anthem of Japan. It is customary to perform it at the same time as GUNKAN MACHI, which is originally a different song from GUNKAN MACHI.
The meaning of the lyrics can be summarized as follows: "If you go to the sea, become a corpse soaked in water; if you go to the mountains, become a corpse covered with moss. Let us die for our country. No one expects to die in peace”
The great kido butai
Sigh if only the yamato survived the war
Imagine the chills when you walked on her decks if she became a museum ship, damnnnnnnn
Most likely would’ve been nuked or scrapped because japan doesn’t have the economy to maintain it like iowa
@@kami6311 you really drain the fun out of things
@@kami6311 it would probably rather be Taken by the Americans as War Reparations such as What happened to the German Kriegsmarine, Altho Possibility it might just be scrapped as you said but we can all dream
@@charlesjakesamadan4008 What would America do with an obsolete battleship? Japan needed the scrap iron more than America. It would have been a waste of fuel oil to bring it back to America. Besides, there was nothing on the Yamato that was worth two cents--its technology was useless. All it ended up doing was being good for target practice--the US Navy obliterated it in a one sided battle.
Beautiful Song!

進水式では軍艦じゃなくてもこの曲が流れることがあります
軍事に興味がない人でも知ってる人が多い曲です
The american planes drops down like ripe apples in the fall. Great japanese anti aircraft gunners.
What movie?
Midway and the eternal zero ithink
Most of the air battle scenes are from the movie Midway(2019).

I take back what I said before, actually ALL the scene are from the movie Midway 2019

[Lt Col Tanner liked that.]
I wonder if future generations would believe the stupidity of humanity on that war but i also pray for them to don't believe it.
A friend and I (both from JMSDF) sang this song during RIMPAC 2018 when we were on Hawaii ^_^
I live in Hawaii but I am japanese

I wish Japan was still like this that Japan was better
No need more imperialism !! No need more victims
I gotta say I do more adore the IJN warships than the American Navy, greetings from Philippines
I cant help but be disapointed each time I see the Destroyer at 1:08 much shame
And this theme is still played by the JMSDF till this day. As far as i know, the lyrics were changed after the war, but it is the same theme. Here's a video from 2011 (uploaded in 2012) by the JMSDF Band, a modern take on this magnificent piece ua-cam.com/video/s6ZrQ73zxdw/v-deo.html
The Japanese warship anti-aircraft guns were chicken ribs.

Japanese they are good at warships on that time but the things that make their ships bad is AA guns if they have a such of good or a better AA guns (and a bit thicker armour fighter planes) on that time in Battle of Midway they will lose only 2-3 cariers instend of 4 (sorry if i wrong somethings my English dosen't the best)
I play this song while playing world of warships and I use a Japanese ship I'm unstoppable
Fun fact. This song can only be played under water now.
Gloria y honor a las valientes tripulaciones de ambos bandos.
PEACE TO THE FALLEN
it cool
Can you believe the flag stands for happiness?
Everybody mythologize the American Army, but when you hear a thousands of "Tennōheika Banzai" the one thing you can do as an American soldier is shit yourself

I play this in my War of the Sea campaign as I send the entire 3rd Battleship Division (Kongo, Hiei, Kirishima, and Haruna) down Iron Bottom Sound to blast away Allied convoys in the night.
