I root for the Canadians, they buy from us and are just as "American" as we are! Eastonmade makes some awesome splitters. The fastest splitters and processors! We buy wood from Canada.
CHRIS, Awesome machine! Didn't think Iowa had any trees left !! Thought it all was corn stalks and soy beans !!! That's definitely an east coast machine!!! Good stuff, customer won't have ANY issues with that product!
I have this same Machine! It's a POWERHOUSE. Gotta make sure to keep her greased and watch out for the pullback arm like Chris mentioned. @@JohnSmith-tv5ep, Eastonmade has some damn good engineers themselves. Eastonmade and Wolfe Ridge are the two best designed splitters on the market in my opinion.
Love my 35 SHO! The 20hp Honda is great but I'm thinking maybe I should have upgraded to the 25hp Honda and the 38gpm pump after watching this video Chris! I've got a little over 20hrs on it now and I love it more every time I use it. These splitters are a true work horses and MADE IN THE USA!!
@Jonathan Frecking - In your opinion what does the 25HP GX800 do better than the 20HP GX630? Thanks in advance, Looking at placing my order soon. Thanks, Brent
@@AroundTheYard-MN well IMO with the bigger motor you can go with the bigger pump. I've got a 28 gal / min pump on mine and it's pretty darn fast but if you add another 10 gal/ min to that it's going to be moving fast enough that your probably going to need 3 people to run it effectively. If you can afford it I would get the bigger motor and pump. Personally I think I should have gotten the Kubota diesel because I have diesel for my tractors so I wouldn't have to get gas for. Just remember to run premium gas in it preferably no ethanol.
What a beast! Lot of firewood in a hurry! That's an awesome machine. And who gives a rip whether or not you are wearing PPE. It's your life not theirs!
Ya, that box wedge system is a true beauty, I miss mine. Good point regarding the pullback arm, I actually had it shoot out like a missile twice when autocycle kicked out with a tough round stuck in the wedge, which, of course could have been avoided if I was paying attention lol.
The box blade and that return pulling arm are really really cool features. Beautiful splitter. I hope my firewood business gets to this point. Well done.
A beast of a machine indeed very well thought out too, Box wedge splitters certainly have the output with not a lot of manhandling long as you don't mind trash.

12;54 if you need to lift the logs, why have a log lift? maybe a longer foot plate that holds 3-4 logs? Box = Slash, the machine works killer, the 800 never slowed down. A Cleaner and a Conveyor would finish the package. Will that machine change to a 6 way ? Will the box lift off? Thanks.
Any thoughts on adding a machine to the Wolfe Ridge lineup that competes with the Eastonmade Ultra? Such a splitter would be sweet when run behind a firewood processor for resplits. This 35SHO is a fast machine. Too bad the nox wedge isn't an option on the smaller splitters. Just that the price of the 35SHO is a bit much for me.

Is there any chance I could bring my homemade splitter to you to tell me everything I did wrong?!!? And is there any chance for a homemade area at Firewood Frenzy 2??
You didn't do anything wrong on it, she looks like a beast. If it does the job for you, who am I to knock it? The problem with home built machines at the show is the insurance issue. If someone got hurt, etc... Any vendors we have at the show are required to have insurance written specifically for the show and us as added insured.
@@WolfeRidgeSplitters I get the insurance, thought even static would be cool! I'll just start bugging Shifty over at Back 40 for a visit to his woodyard!!
No sir, box wedges that are designed to float tend to float too much, therefore losing the consistency. We have this designed to keep that 3.5" split size. We have all the angles flared so that the wedge doesn't jam. To test that out, we have split Oak sideways to ensure that it can shear thru anything that doesn't actually split.
@Wolfe Ridge MFG - Any plans to make different size box wedges? Thinking 2.5x2.5 for a more kindling bundle. OR any plans to add the 12-way “wicked” wedge to the pin on single wedge?
Congratulations on your business success, the American Dream is alive and well. Just curious if you would have a need for a dedicated truck to haul you equipment and raw materials in and out? I bought a truck and would like to establish dedicated work for it. Mark
Boy that honda motor sounds good. I'd never be able to afford a splitter of this quality. I usually split everything with a husky cheapy splitting axe. Very nice machine tho.
Probably need to be selling a lot of bundle wood to make the investment in this splitter a good idea, especially if dealing with tree service wood. Tree service wood is where the box wedge really shines, or wood bigger than 16in.
I chatted with you on Facebook hour ago I'm very interested in a machine just like the one in this video for my bundle bizz I'll call you Monday as soon as I get my workers going Chris.
Would a breakaway joint using a shear bolt on the pullback arm help to avoid damage? It would be easy to build. Just add a tab under the arm joint with a shear bolt at the end of the tab would work. It would be an easy fix for when it happens. A few more suggestions: add hooks in handy places for: a short picaroon to help get rounds off the far point of the log lift, a log ox to help load rounds on the log lift, and a hatchet for splitting elm. The hooks should include a lockdown for transport. Hope this helps. Cheers!
With the Big Dog 35 … I bet Mike Morgan would have had his wood bin filled up by now! What a unit! And … nice touch of humor at the end!
For the amount of wood that Mike Morgan sells, doesn't need a 35SHO.
