12:57 two tiny hints actually: the one you mentioned and the scar at the back of his hand you get to see when he’s angry (or at least pretends he is) it’s the one Athena caused by stabbing the back of his hand
Also I hate to nitpick (though in defense of the game) they also stated that another reason for the dark age of the law was Phoenix "forging evidence" though it was briefly mentioned, so that would make all of his cases in question on whether the killer (including Von Karma and Godot) were actually guilty. So with this in mind I think the some of the events 7 years before Apollo justice may have been a bigger cause, but they already solved that part). Also the "dark age of the law" was likely in full swing during Apollo Justice
Finally finished this game today... I really wanted to watch this review and geez... I didn't realize the similiarities with the other games like FF9 did. I will return to the DLC episode after finishing Spirit of Justice. Great video!

I finally played Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and then re-watched this video, and it's amazing how much this game was referencing that one... yet I called the Bobby Fulbright connection before I played Ghost Trick. It's amazing how much I got right when Phantom Detective came out...
I love your AA Story reviews, can't wait for your opinion on SoJ! Honestly, Dual Destinies might be my favourite game in the main series. I can't really say why, but no other game felt so amazing while playing. I have to admit that Dual Destinies has some flaws (the villains aren't the best, less investigation sequences, too easy compared to other games, not as good and deep storytelling as in T&T or SoJ, etc.). But overall I just loved the game and the cases as a whole (including the DLC case). The twists at the end of the last case and the DLC case were spectacular, the story behind Athena and Simon was beautiful, the new cast of characters was fantastic (Athena, Simon, Bobby, Robin, Clay, Yuri Cosmos, Dr. Crab, Sascha, etc.), the humor and pacing was good and the music was amazing ("Wandering Heart", "I'm Fine", Athena's Objection Theme, "Departure from Regret", etc.). I have to say, I already absolutely adored the old trilogy (especially T&T) and after playing Apollo Justice I never thought that any new games could be as good as the old trilogy again, luckily I was wrong. Dual Destinies as well as Spirit of Justice both surprised me positively and I can't wait for AA7!
Felix thanks! I'm working on SoJ right now! None are perfect but I really like how the series is still going strong with some great characters and creative scenarios
Kidusrox wbu Von karma then...he was the best prosecutor of his time with 40 years unstoppable victory...his sentence should have more effect then Edgeworth's.
Although the dark age of the law was overall unnecessary, the reason Blackquill was a cause of it was not only that he was convicted of murder, he was also still allowed to prosecute after said murder conviction.
I played it on iOS: iPhones are compatible with external capture cards. I think that Ace Attorney: Duel Destiny is actually a parody of American court systems rather than Japan because of the distrust many Americans have toward the Courts based off of biases in media coverage. Using this idea would separate Ace Attorney into 2 trilogies: making it in the Japanese court system (Ace Attorney 1-3) and fixing the court system (Apollo Justice in Japan, Duel Destiny in the US, and Ace Attorney 6 in China.). Yes, Apollo Justice has flaws but it does more than separate the Trilogies: it also creates a new motive behind the story (in this case though it was really rushed). Sorry if you had not seen the announcement trailer for the next ace attorney game. Love your videos.
+Interactive Stories Your interpretation however involved less speculation and left more contradictions. It is important to remember that the only thing that my interpretation states that isn't speculation is the new trailers information and my speculation rides on only that.
@@InteractiveStories Another thing to note that at the time of Dual Destinies I believe there was a scandal that brought to light just how corrupt the Japanese courts were. This could also be where the dark age of the law comes from
Such an enjoyable video! Just beat the game today and was looking for some supplmentary post game material. And i will say this without having seen any of your other videos as of writing, but if you get a slightly better audio setup, i think your production quality will go up by 50%. Good stuff!
Your story reviews are awesome! Just try to remove or edit the blackbars, a little bit fine tuning on your audio and go on with the videos. Some day, you will get the views you deserve! :)
Yeah really wasn't a fan of DD, it was either cliche or "been there done that" for the majority of the game. DLC case was pretty good mainly because its investigation wasn't linear using the magatama more than once and didn't leave motivation as an after thought (remember when you HAD to prove that yet THIS is the Dark Age), wish it was in the main game. Sure wish they kept with the jurist system from Apollo, OH WAIT, thats in the game we're never getting.
The ending of DD and SoJ is such an annoying cliffhanger *spoiler alert* We might finally see trucy/apollos mom! Placing bets on it going to be lamiroir (remember her?)
Your reviews are pretty good, but I don't think that you gave DD enough flak for how unoriginal it was. Took, reused and twisted all the old tropes? Another word for that is "ripped off" the old tropes. This game is like The Force Awakens: playing it so safe that they basically plagiarized Shu Takumi's amazing work in the original trilogy. I'd call this game bottom tier. All that said, your reviews are enjoyable and informative.
I was preparing to get really bummed out when you talked about Monstorous Turnabout, I love that case (it's my favourite second case) but most either think it's bad, mediocre or just okay. So..I was really pleasantly surprised when I found out you like it :D

12:45 that's a bit unfair, what about Apollo losing faith in Athena, we haven't had that until this game, still a great review though.
True, I thought Apollo might even join the prosecutor's bench!
That would have been cool, but I wonder how he would get along with Edgeworth
Also I hate to nitpick (though in defense of the game) they also stated that another reason for the dark age of the law was Phoenix "forging evidence" though it was briefly mentioned, so that would make all of his cases in question on whether the killer (including Von Karma and Godot) were actually guilty. @@mini2239 Heya, 2022 sure is nice.
What about Gant, then. Why didn't the Dark Age of Law start there, along with von Karma's trial?
@@zio2329 That's a fair point. But I suspect that all these cases ramped up and that no single one was responsible
Good review, Mr. Maurice. You packed a lot into that one, and the presentation is sparkling. I'm looking forward to your next video.

Been waiting for this all year. I bought the whole series on the App Store like 3 months ago
Nooo, I haven't finnished this game yet, but i really want to watch it! Agh!! I've been waiting so long for a vid, happy you're back!

Honestly I think T&T is kind of overrated
the dark age of he law didn't happen when Edgeworth was accused because he was proved innocent

huh, I never considered that interpretation. That... actually fixes a lot of the problems I have with their 'Dark Age of the Law' silliness.

how is - Not Trusting on a Legal System due to blatant Corruption from Both Sides - something silly my man....

100% did not see the Fulbright twist. Imo one of the best unforseen twists in the franchise
I really like how bobby fullbright pulls out his wallet with his id card and you're: yeah yeah we get it, your bobby fullbright

Its "dark" because of evidence forging.
everyone says that DD was the first 3d AA game, however thats not true, since there is one game thats not mentioned, PW Vs PL
Yo how did phoenix becomes lawyer agian
Are you planning to do either of the Investigations Games, PWAA Vs Layton, or Spirit of Justice?

do the same with the 2 investigations games
I've got to say, This is probably my least favorite game in the main line ace attorney games. It's still really good though
