It has climbed that hill with two before. It handles rough trails nicely. Don't hit stuff too hard though, you'll bend control arms/spindles, even possibly break a wheel in half. I've replaced all kinds of stuff on it from bad judgment calls.
Just get a real machine and you won't have those problems. I've been looking for awhile with the prices and everything I'm just like ugh. Probably just stick with the Yamaha grizzly 660 it's legendary.
would it have hauled 2 people up that hill? how is in slow rough trails? nice machine! I wish they had carried over the high/low range trans from the hammerhead 250ss
It would be nice if they had reverse-low-high instead of reverse-neutral-forward. I see no need for neutral because there is already a tourqe converter
Any Idea's where to find performance parts for the Trail master 300cc XRX? I have looked every where. just looking for it to be more responsive and a lil more torque.
@@zackforister so if i'm looking for carburetor parts for the Trailmaster 300...will the hammerhead 250 carb parts interchange? Or would the whole carb swap over? thanks
by the sound and performance of it, you need a new drive belt in your cvt clutch and maybe some engine work becuase it shouldn't be squeaking like that
Replaced the clutch about 6 months back and it cleared that noise right up. Engine is healthy as a horse, just hit 1,200 miles recently. (you can't tell in the video but when it slows down to a near stop while climbing, the grade is SO steep you have to almost walk on all fours hiking up it)
NumNumz I was gentle for the first 100 miles. I changed the oil right at 100 miles and started beating the hell out of it. Been changing the oil every 300 miles ever since.
Zack Forister Wow that many miles and it’s still going? Have any problems with it? Also do you know the max speed? I just rode in my father’s brand new Can Am Maverick X3 and it’s badass so I want something but not too pricy.
Zack Forister Oh. No, I plan on getting a UTV way down the road when I can afford one of the expensive ones. Right now this go kart would fit my budget but I wouldn’t get this for a while. I’m just looking for an off-road toy. I’ll buy a monster later.
That thing needs a higher torque spring and lighter clutch weights. I'll make a huge difference. When you're going up that hill the engine isn't at peak torque because the rollers in the clutch are to heavy. It's good for a 200lbs scooter but not a big buggy. Like any of those chineese buggies with cvt setup, rollers and torque spring makes them a lot more responsive, but you might looser 3-4 mph of top end.
Yeah this video just convinced me to go buy one in the morning

Thanks. It's not bad considering how small the engine is and that it has a cvt. Just have momentum/speed as you start up a steep hill.
Zack Forister 2wd right?
Yup. Rear wheel drive with live axle.
Zack Forister so this one is not a 300 xrx ??
These things look so badass
They are , I just got one 3 days ago and it impressed me, super fun

Craig Daye I think it was the gts250 hammerhead that had the high-low cvt. My guy said it was a problem transmission.

Yeah that high low gear is definitely a game-changer does this seem like it has a good amount of tork for tight trails
@@zackforister you know what's crazy I don't even stay there bacon the Hammerhead 250 anymore
Hey great video , how would you rate the hill climbing capabilities ?
How tall are you?

@@bigalforsyth No, unfortunately you have to use the Trailmaster 300 carburetor.
Go POWERSPORTS
that thing GOES
My Trailmaster Mid XRX bunny hops too much when going fast.(kicks back wheels off ground) Modified Stage 1 Performance Kit from Go Power Sports.
Thats suspensions issue sounds like
I've got the same one 300 XRX DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY TIPS ARE MODS TO SHARE?
Is it still going how many miles have you got on it
I've seen some of your videos, I was wondering if you could send me the measurements to make a pot

Is there a break in period for this go kart?

Is your top speed 43mph?? Is it governed?
It had a top speed of 48.7mph with the OEM back tires. When I put the bigger, thicker back tires on it dropped to 43 mph.
@@zackforister have you done any performance upgrades?

Where can i get those for a Trailmaster Mid XRX?
GT20Modding if it has a 150cc you can ger those pretty much everywhere. scooter shops, ebay, amazon. just search for gy6 parts
ProbeGT2 No it's a 212cc clone.
GT20Modding There's not much you can do then. Maybe removing the governor but you may kill the engine if you rev it too fast.
ProbeGT2 I was thinking about a Bilet rod, flywheel and bigger cam and install my high air flow filter and adapter.
Its a good thing you took your key out , wouldnt want sasquatch stealing your ride out in the middle of the bush , thier know for that you know
