Everyone seems forgets that Yamaha has quite a long experience with large displacement V4s, ya? Like the VMax. They produced this v4 powered motorcycle from 1985 - 2020. In it's last idideration, the V4 was 1679cc and produced 197bhp. I'm sure making it half sized and breathing on it with today's tech, it will meet 2027 new MotoGP specs. If rumors are true, it appeared that Yamaha was thinking about a liter sized V4 but it seems like between engine/electronic tweaks and chassis/aero changes, their I4 still has some good life left in it. Never discount the inline4 design or maybe you give the I4 a bigger displacement edge to compete better with the V4s (2027 MotoGP specs)? Like they did with the twin engine powered, earlier MotoGP powered bikes.
BS you don’t need a new V4 engine they need to stop messing with the RPMs of the Japanese bikes, stop lowering the rpm’s if they do that Asian bikes will again and dominate
They can test whenever they want as long as they have the tires to do so. They dont have to wait until Sepang.
