Battery Basics for RVers

For something we all know something about, batteries can be a complicated thing. With the advent of expensive but long lasting lithium batteries, the choices are not so clear. Do you buy lead acid technology (from the 19th century) or something more space age? What is complicated is that lithium is actually one of the least expensive types of battery over the life of the battery but the most expensive installation cost up front. Hi Jim, Great Video, thank you very much! I just bought 4- 12V 100amp BBs for my 2007 American Tradition , Boy ,This has been a challenge and I am getting through it. Those Batteries are not out of your Old Rig are they?

Yes they are. They still work just fine and I saw no reason to give them up. It was a trade in and they didn't care and offered me nothing for them over lead acid. I actually swapped four of the batteries from the new coach with the 4 BB. Really drove home how much lighter the BB are. There were also 6 lead acid in the new coach so one of the techs got the two extras.
