They really seemed to have a good chemistry on stage together. I don't know what it takes for two bands to come together and do something like that but it seemed that it was with very little effort and allot of enthusiasm
By Far One Of The Greatest Songs Ever Written with deepest darkest meanings ever if you know what i mean if you been there dun that and survived this song says it all on all levels
I remember watching this on VH1 back then. So nice to see Skynyrd with Gary and Billy still alive, and the guitarist from 3 Doors Down is no longer here either. A piece of history, really
Got to see them in 76 opening for the Doobie Brothers, great show, has to be one of the longest standing ovations in history, Check out The Ballad of Curtis Lowe, great reaction
one of my friends can't kick the yeyo and he ran into the oak tree twenty years ago. he had a terrible head injury and was lucky to survive. when i went to visit him in the hospital, he looked like charlie brown with the giant head. his head was the size of a medicine ball. he just got into another wreck recently and i suspect he was high again. seeing what had happened to him helped me to get off the crap back then.
De todos os artistas das clássicas o meu preferido é o Vivaldi, por passar algo ou sensações como alegria, energias positivas e profundidade. Bom esse é o meu ponto de vista.
The song was released in 1977 as part of their Street Survivors album, ironically three days before the Plane Crash. Also ironically Gary was the last original member standing.
Allen Collins also totaled his car drunk and on qualudes the same week as Gary Rossington which prompted Ronnie to write it because he himself was a full blown alcoholic and the guys were shooting speed and a little opiates and eating quaaludes like candy. It was then that he asked childhood friend Gene Odum to go on the road with them to help keep them straight because he didn't drink or do drugs. He was also on the plane when it crashed...but survived!
With deference to Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird, That Smell is one of Skynyrd's greatest. IMHO.
Strait bro❤

R.I.P. Gary

Rip Gary that song was written after he got drunk and high and wrapped his new car into a tree

@ yep then Allen wrecked his car again and paralyze his legs
Turn up the vocals so they are even
Great job. His older brother was a hell if alot more determined and didnt have to showcase like he does..almost like trying too hard

Whos that Induan looking dude at 3 30 on the guitar? Damn!!
Rickey Medlocke, early Skyrnd member and lead guitar of his own band, Blackfoot
rickey medlocke is lakota sioux and cherokee. he was with skynyrd in the early 70s but left and came back in 96.
What is kirik hamet doing there?
I was wondering the same thing.
