Hi Becky, I am catching up on videos again. WOW,what a change in your living room,it looks great. The shelf David made is Soooo Nice! I Love your curio, you can actually see your dishes better now! I Love curios,I am on the hunt right now for the perfect one for my own living room!❤️
I love where you moved your sunflower hutch. I love sunflowers. I have them all throughout my house. I enjoy your videos. I’m glad there are videos of regular size houses and down to earth people. ❤
I just started watching and thought GIRL! you need some sliders for your furniture. It would be SO much easier. I keep a set handy in the garage. then, you came out with a TOWEL!!!!! hahaha! I LOVE IT!
Becky - your home is always so beautiful. I have a suggestion- maybe put the french china cabinet from the store where your amazon shelf is in the dining room. The wood tone would complement the color of the table. You could then store your Amazon shelf when Summer gets her own place again.
You are very talented I enjoy seeing how you decorate. When you sped up the video lol I was thinking I wish I could work that fast. Made it look easy 😊
i have that same cabinet i bought in the 1990's and i still love it. i have it in my guest bedroom and i just replaced the bulb in it with a led bulb that stays cool. your collection brings back a lot of memories for me. i saw a plate not too long ago that remind be of your 1970 collection God bless. everything looks great
I’m so happy you put the brown owl on top ,because I saw exactly what you were seeing with the white owl 😊. My home has a lot of furniture since our and grandchildren are mostly grown and having a wonderful bunch beautiful great grandchildren,we need a lot setting that’s definitely more important. Beautiful and cozy. God bless and have a wonderful evening…..🍂🧡🍂
Hi Becky! How has it been with your new furniture arrangement? I think it looks great! I love rearranging my rooms, it can be fun and exciting but also frustrating and tiring lol. Thanks for sharing your process with us! ❤
Love your vintage home! A suggestion: maybe moving the tv and it’s table back to where it was, and the loveseat at an angle in that corner? ,That way the tv is not the focal point of the living room, but, your lovely treasures will be!
I think the new arrangement looks so pretty! Sometimes it’s nice to change things up. Love the curio cabinet story, I don’t blame you for wanting to always have it.
Moving and rearranging furniture in a room is always a challenge! I love the shelves in front of the window. It will ve fun to see you decorate them for the upcoming seasons. TFS
I'm having fun decorating it for Halloween. It's the first chance I've really had. I'll move the shelf for Christmas so my tree can go up in that space.
Becky - Fun to try New Things! Try the china cabinet where your blanket ladder is ...the cabinet may be wider, but it may still work. Also on your new shelf unit, if he wood is removable: try moving the top, short piece to the middle and put the longer, middle piece on the top. This will allow space for your taller plants on the bottom shelf. Or perhaps having enough room to add them to the top shelf... You are a joy!
Hi Becky! Oh my your living room looks so nice. I really love the shelf David made and it looks so good where it is. You did a great job on decorating it. I really like where tge cabinet isit lioks so good there. I would not get rid of it either or put it in the shed as it would brake my ❤ not to see it. Thank you for sharing this video with us. So until next time God Bless you and David and have a Blessed weekend and stay safe my dear and Special Friends. ❤❤❤
I did not know how you was going to pull it all together. BUT I really like how it all turned out. The curio cabinet actually looks really good on that wall I thought & since there is enough room for u to get to your craft room still - it seems like a good home spot for it. Love how the white owl looks on top of it. Also the shelf looks great in front of the window.
Love the China cabinet and the sunflower dishes it looks nice where you have it now since your the only one going in and out of your craft room. You have so many beautiful things and it is nice to be able to see them!
There’s nothing like rearranging furniture to get a thorough deep clean. I bet you are loving having your shelf back. I can’t wait to se show you decorate it for the holidays.
When I was young, I LOVED rearranging my furniture around in my modest home! 😍Made everything seem new! ps. I LOVE your new LR arrangement! I never liked having a couch with the back to a window. I always prefer to face a picture window. I have a curved cabinet very like yours! It is as precious to me as the treasures it holds! My salt and pepper collection and few vintage glass pieces😍
Becky, I love the MCM shelf your husband made, and it looks great in front of the window. I always prefer light furniture under a window if possible. It will be so fun to decorate all year. I was glad to see the big white owl moved, it looked a bit heavy for the top shelf, and you are right about the colored one looking better there. The tureen on the masterpiece hutch is so lovely with the FALL Y'ALL! dishes🥰 and I love the Bigfoot shirt. You are so much fun.🧡
I love how you have rearranged everything. Just a thought, if it were me, you don’t have to center your china hutch on that wall. Since the left side of the wall is partially hidden, you can move the hutch more to the right and then you could see a little more of it. I would love to see a tour of Summer’s room, if she is willing. Thanks for sharing, Becky! ❤
I think everything looks really nice. It's your home and you should do whatever makes You happy! Everyone has opinions but what really matters is how You feel about it. I think everything looks great ❤😊
Thank you Darlene, I don't think my new arrangement went over too well with everyone. LOL! I am actually enjoying a change of scenery. It's been well over 10 years since I have changed the layout up so I'm happy.
Becky, I LOVED the video of you changing the living room furniture around!!!!! I love to change my rooms to give them a new look!!! I recently made my unused 2nd bedroom into a sitting room and I love it! Nothing is "written in concrete"; so you can always change it back if it doesn't work!! But I did like the way you arranged your living room furniture!
Thank you Ann, it sounds like you had a blast setting up your new sitting room. That's all that matters in the end is that you were having fun and enjoying your new space.
I know the feeling I am constantly moving things around to incorporate new things that either I purchased or remade and I do it with towels also to protect my floors lol it will all work out in the end if not put it back as you said it is only rearranging.
You must be exhausted! Ironically I have a bigger second home, an old hundred year old house we have been living in for 25 years and there are only 2 ways I can rearrange. In my first smaller starter home, I rearranged all the time but in this place I simply can’t. Challenged my brain and even got some advice from a designer friend and he agreed I should just leave things as I have them. We, like you need optimal seating for the tv, so when you get a new piece of furniture you really throw a monkey wrench in the mix! So I feel your frustration! Sometimes you just have to eliminate stuff and your tree was it!🤷♀️Oh well, it was beautiful while it lasted. Sometimes it feels good to give everything a refresh! I have sentimental pieces as well I can NEVER get rid of! Mine is a massive upright piano! You always do a great job finessing your home. Just trust the process!❤
This is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very adorable and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
Hi Becky! Love the video! That was some hard work! Isn't it funny how when we decide to bring one new piece or change into a room, it turns into a whole cycle of events?😂Watching Fast Becky made me exhausted, but she got it done! 😅 Great job, as always! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and very creative ideas with us. ❤
I think our houses are similar in size and they're both open concept which can make it so difficult to arrange furniture... miss those walls lol... I'm glad you're happy with everything and look forward to what you change up for Halloween and Christmas!!
Thanks Missy, I sometimes wish I had a bigger home but the though of paying the mortgages that are happening right now makes me happy to be where I am. I look forward to being able to quit my job one day soon like you and do more of the things I love.
Just a suggestion maybe move the live plant on the left up on the top shelf more in front of the window and move your white owl minus the wood stand it is on to the place the plant was.
Everything looks wonderful! Just a thought...would your lovely china cabinet fit where your blanket ladder is? I know I can't really tell the exact size of that area, but it's just thought. You have done an amazing job and your home is always so cozy and inviting!
Thank you Liliana, I have had a lot of suggestions to do this and unfortunantely it wouldn't work there. It would be right in the walkway to get to the kitchen. I wish there was more room there, I have wanted to put a shelf there for years and no matter how hard I try I just can't make it work.
@@MyLittleVintageHome Ahh ok! I knew that if it were possible you'd probably already have done it. And you know, the china cabinet looks just fine where it is! It's really a lovely piece and filled with your beautiful things. :)
Hi Becky Your living room looks great shifted around. The window frames Your shelf. I so get you wanting to keep your china cabinet in a place of prominence in your home. From the video, it looks very nice where you have it situated & you can see it from your craft room. A thought - Could you move your blanket ladder beside the tv so you can put your tree where the ladder is now? See you soon. Take care 🌼
Thank you Elaine, unfortunantely no the cabinet won't fit in that space. I have tried many times to try and use that space but it just blocks the traffic flow into the kitchen.
Hi Becky! I love the way you moved your furniture around, it looks beautiful. I was thinking, I wonder if you could move your China cabinet where you have your ladder blanket, do you think it would fit there, and you may have to move your picture there too? Then put your ladder blanket under the picture next to your dining table. Just an idea and thought it would be something you could try. Love to move furniture around, I think it's fun to change things up every now and then. I do love the owl you have on your shelf now better and the white one back on the China cabinet. What a fun and wonderful video, thank you! 🌻❤🌻
Hi Gayle, I have had a lot of suggestions to do this and unfortunantely the cabinet wouldn't work in place of the blanket ladder. It would be right in the walkway to get to the kitchen. I wish there was more room there, I have wanted to put a shelf there for years and no matter how hard I try I just can't make it work.
@@MyLittleVintageHome Oh ok, I understand, and I can see that now. I do think your blanket ladder is awesome where it is now, (it's beautiful by the way) and I think where you put your China cabinet will work great for you too. I am really looking forward to you decorating for Halloween! 🎃 It seems like it is coming fast. Thanks again Becky! ❤
Well, as always, it came together! You have such a good eye for balancing the patterns and colors. Have you thought (in your spare time while you are resting LOL) about extending your curtains to the floor with a solid color? It didn't matter when they were behind the couch and possibly doesn't matter now I just wanted to add one more thing to your list! Tee Hee!
I just started noticing them yesterday. 😮Do you think they absolutely need to be longer? I am asking you as an outsider looking in. I (like you said) didn't worry too much with the couch hiding them. It's one of those things that I am not that good at. (curtains, drapes)
With the shelving unit in front it isn't really noticeable. Rule of thumb is curtains should skim the floor but rules are meant to be broken (thumbs are not LOL)
CHANGE IS HARD, BUT YOU DID WELL. THE ONLY SUGGESTION I HAVE IS TO MOVE THE OWL IN THE MIDDLE SHELF SWAP IT WITH THE BOWL, SO YOU DONT HAVE ONE OWL ON TOP OF THE OTHER. I ALSO LOVE DOLLIES. THEY REALL MAKE A SPECIAL LOOK FOR ITEMS. GREAT JOB.
Becky, I thought this was a fun video. I enjoy rearranging now and then because it makes everything seem new. You are right, if you (meaning the people who actually live in the space) don’t like it, you can always change it back! Asking for ideas is fun and you get a lot of differing advice, but ultimately do what makes you and your family happy and comfortable! I hope Summer is doing well. I’m glad she could come back home to get her bearings.
I like moving my furniture also. Put the tree back together. May I make a suggestion, on the window blinds, get one that fits all way across without the split, and open the curtains all the way to the side. You do have some beautiful furniture and decor.❤
I have an idea hv you thought of switching the china hutch and blanket ladder? Just a thought love how the mid century bookshelf looks. Everything turned out beautiful.
Becky, rule of thumb is, don’t place the couches up against the wall/s. TV appears to far for viewing. Also, the placement of the couches and chair look too heavy at the entrance. Like it stops the free flow. It would be more welcoming if there is more free flow space. Just a thought. 🧡BTW, I would love to see your tree in front of the window.
I am going to put a tree in front of the window for Christmas. I will just have to move my shelf for the holiday. It will come back after the tree comes down. I know my layout isn't ideal but I haven't had it any other way in over 10 years. We are enjpying the new set up for the time being. It may get moved back later who knows. 😉
I am a furniture changer! I like to change my living room around with the seasons so I love your new living room! But I’m worried! Where are we gonna put the Christmas tree!!! lol! I’ll be watching!
Can you put your curio cabinet where the blanket ladder is, and move the blanket ladder by the craft room? Maybe will give you some more space! Love your channel!
Thank you Melissa, I have had a lot of suggestions to do this and unfortunantely it wouldn't work there. It would be right in the walkway to get to the kitchen. I wish there was more room there, I have measured for a shelf for years to go there and I just can't make it work.
You’re rearranging a whole room for one shelf! You open the front door to the back of a couch nope ! The mantle also looked better with the tv there. JMO
First I love your channel, you are so fun and I love your collections. But I have to say…that is a lot of moving around all because your daughter didn’t like a shelf. I liked the set up you had before and losing your fall tree and your beloved family cabinet is not right. I think you should put it back the way it was and tell your daughter you can look at options after the holidays
@@janetdwiggins I understand what you are saying but I honestly wanted to figure out a place to put my shelf other than in a room I rarely go into anyway. Since Summer moved in with us I never got to enjoy my beautiful shelf. Now I can look at it every day and I really am enjoying it where it is. So it’s okay. As far as by curio cabinet goes, I haven’t had any big issues with it being next to my craft room. It’s not ideal but I have lived with it a few days new and so far it isn’t in the way. Thank you though. The only thing I really lost was the tree. By next year I’ll have things figured out a little better and I’ll bring it back out again.
Becky I like the change in your livingroom!!!!It looks cozy and homey! What we do for our kids!!Enjoy your new space!!!Sometimes those room changes are good!Enjoy!!😁🎃👍🧡
You're wonderful mom Becky..I told my crew everyone is now over 18 therefore you are now tenants and I'm the landlady...the shelf would have stayed in the room. 😊😂
Move that little entry table behind the sofa and put your China cabinet where it is now. I love the shelf in front of the window. Move the shelves in the entry to that wall where you have the China cabinet now
Very pretty. Would your curio cabinet fit on the wall where your ladder is? It’s hard to tell from my view. Where are you going to put the tree? You’ve got my head whirling with ideas for arranging your house now. lol 😆
lol! I'm going to move the shelf temporarily to make room for my Christmas tree don't worry. as far as the cabinet fitting on the blanket ladder sadly no. Believe me I have tried.
Too bad your MCM shelf won't go in front of the window in your bedroom. I thought you were going to put your swung vases on it? We all have our own ideas, but you have to be happy with your own house. I'm glad you can keep the china cabinet....like you said, you're the only one who goes in and out of your craft room....and the light brightens that dark area. Summer won't live there forever, and you're blessed to be able to spend this extra time with her.
...It was my thought to remove the chair, ..theres a lit of furniture in that room, lol. ..so your stating you will remove that is a good idea. Also, a larger Rug will do a lot to help the " feel of the Room " ....and it will feel more grounded ... the rug is pretty, but it is too small for the area. 😊 Im still not quite sure about the Arrangement, but it is your Home, and you can see how the Arrangement functions, and change it if needed. Is your style tending towards MCM ..or another type of Vintage? The reason I ask is I wasn't sure of the Feel / Style you are wanting to achieve ...a mix of styles can work, but all the different wood tones ,and " live edge " tables along with the current Sofa/ loveseat lend towards a " Rustic.feel " .. just IMO. . 🙂😊 I agree with keeping your lovely Display Cabinet.
I don't have a specific style or at least I don't know how to label it. I only know what looks nice while I am looking at it. I love midcentury furniture, I love the 70's colors and patterns, I also love the rustiic vintage. As far as the live edge tables. My husband made those because he loved them and I just made them work in our home. I don't follow any set rules for decorating since it is only for me.
@@MyLittleVintageHome ...I was only asking in regards to your Styke, as I was not sure it was " Vintage mixed with other pieces " ,since I saw the Title of your Channel and decided to watch... no harm intended. I could gather that your Husband had made the tables, they are well done,.. another reason I was curious as to your Room Style. I wasn't thinking about " Rules for Decorating ", but rather that there's quite a few different eras/ types of furniture and such in the Room..... it reads as a sort of Identity Crisis , lol. I am not crazy about the tiered shelving, because it takes up a lot of room - and it is well made but seems out of place in the room..-. and I'm not being Critical, just observing ) ... As long you like what your looking at , ..it's Your Home and is to your own liking. :)
Maybe your daughter could use the china hutch in her bedroom? Even if she took the door/doors off she might be able to put it to use. Sometimes book shelves and cabinets can be next to each other and look fine too. Just a thought. Would you have room in your bedroom for your china hutch or on a kitchen wall if your daughter denies it?
@@MyLittleVintageHome oh I get it! I’ve been known to stack furniture to make room for something new I found. I did find however that if I condensed down the size of my displays and rotated them for specific seasons, I actually enjoyed them more instead of trying to put everything on display year round. And now that I’m older,76, I have condensed things down even more. It was easier on the eyes too.
I have had a lot of suggestions to do this and unfortunantely it wouldn't work there. It would be right in the walkway to get to the kitchen. I wish there was more room there, I have wanted to put a shelf there for years and no matter how hard I try I just can't make it work.
It worries me a little about your mid century shelf being wobbly. It seems like someone may bump it accidently and things topple. Try putting the store cabinet where the shelf is between the bedroom/garage then putting that shelf and mirror where the ladder is, if its not too wide, and then the ladder by the craft room. If it is too wide then swap that shelf and mirror with the amazon shelf. You'll be able to view your treasures better I think. Becky....where is your Christmas tree going girl? haha! This is what I think when I rearrange. Maybe it will fit by the garage door? Oh! and I never hear the sawing when your chatting.
Hi, I have a small home too. With time I have learned to use less sitting furniture as kids have grown and moved out. How can you recline sofas so close to the wall? I have same issue but I have them 8”- 10” away from the wall
Hi Becky, So, lots of comments about your furniture placement...I know you will make the best decisions/choices as you live with the space. Will you just use your pencil tree for Halloween and Christmas? I wanted to comment about your reminiscing about the Family Store. As I have probably mentioned, I also grew up in a store. We actually lived in an apartment behind it. It was a Mom & Pop Grocery/Deli. I love my memories of the "store days". I have just a couple of treasures from that time, specific to the store, one is a large Tom's Peanuts 5 cent glass container that held penny candy on the counter. It sits on my kitchen counter with vintage cookie cutters in it.
That's funny you mention the penny candy. We used to sell that too. Kids would come in and fill their bags full. It's funny how loosing a place was just like loosing a family member. I love and miss that old store so much. Yes, I don't think everyone liked my new arrangement. LOL! I am loving it personally. I haven't made changes to my furniture arrangement in over 10 years. Its was time for a change.
@@MyLittleVintageHome There was also 2 for a penny candy as well. My brother and I often reminisce about the "store days". I loved to come home from school and help out. I would mark the prices with a black grease pen, straighten and dust, etc. As soon as I could give change, I would wait on the customers, even selling cigarettes and beer...lol...I was maybe 8 years old! Hope you and your family are safe from the storms.
David doesn't care as long as I give him a heads up. I rearranged furniture one time really late at night while he was asleet and he came barrelling in that morning and broke his pinky toe on the corner of the newly moved coffee table. 😮

I have sentimental pieces as well I can NEVER get rid of! Mine is a massive upright piano! You always do a great job finessing your home. Just trust the process!❤
I love your videos! You wore me out moving around all your furniture! I loved your fall tree though. It was gorgeous!! I hate you couldn’t use it.
Thank you Debbie, I’ll bring it back next year with my slim tree. I was going to take it down soon to decorate for Halloween anyway.
Beautiful stuff you have there loved it
Lovely 🏠
That shelf would be pretty with a Christmas village on it.
I think so too 😉
This is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very adorable and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
Hi Becky! Love the video! That was some hard work! Isn't it funny how when we decide to bring one new piece or change into a room, it turns into a whole cycle of events?😂Watching Fast Becky made me exhausted, but she got it done! 😅
Great job, as always! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and very creative ideas with us. ❤
Thank you so much Cari, fast Becky made me tired too. I only wish I could get things done that fast. LOL
It all looks good!
The change is nice looks good 👍 ❤
I think our houses are similar in size and they're both open concept which can make it so difficult to arrange furniture... miss those walls lol...
Put the Curio cabinet in the hall area where the square shelving unit is. It adds softness to the movement of the living room.
I think the original way was best. It's your home so you do what makes you happy.
Thank you Dusti!
Love the new look
Pyramid looks fantastic!
Hi Becky
Your living room looks great shifted around.
GREAT JOB.
Thank you Naoma!
Thank you Caren, she is doing so good. Mama and Daddy are spoiling her rotten.
I like moving my furniture also. Put the tree back together. May I make a suggestion, on the window blinds, get one that fits all way across without the split, and open the curtains all the way to the side. You do have some beautiful furniture and decor.❤
Thank you Kathy, that is a great suggestion. I have never even thought about doing that.
I have an idea hv you thought of switching the china hutch and blanket ladder? Just a thought love how the mid century bookshelf looks. Everything turned out beautiful.
The white owl was to tall on the top shelf. The darker owl looks better there now👍🏻🦉 your tiered shelf looks great in front of the window.
Thank you Tracy, I think the brown owl was the best part. I loved it.
Thank you Nancy, I'll just temporarily move the shelf for Christmas. I'm going to want my tree to go in front of the window for sure.
JMO
I was ready for a change. I’ve had my furniture layout the same for probably 10 years.
You could make a smaller seasonal garland in front of the TV.
YES! I love that idea.
I agree, I hate to see her remove her tree and cabinet just for a shelf.
I agree with this. I tha k the shel would look beautiful there@angelanapier4248
Could you put your china hutch where your blanket ladder is and the blanket ladder where your china hutch was?
I loved the tv corner😢Your sad face in the beginning made me sad
I think you can move the shop in the hallway next to your TV stand, and then put your china cabinet in the hallway where that shelf is
I like where you put your hutch.
Thank you so much Deborah.
Im still not quite sure about the Arrangement, but it is your Home, and you can see how the Arrangement functions, and change it if needed.
Is your style tending towards MCM ..or another type of Vintage?
The reason I ask is I wasn't sure of the Feel / Style you are wanting to achieve ...a mix of styles can work, but all the different wood tones ,and " live edge " tables along with the current Sofa/ loveseat lend towards a " Rustic.feel " .. just IMO. . 🙂😊
I agree with keeping your lovely Display Cabinet.
Plot twist: Summer decided she wants the shelf after all.
I'm not giving it back now, I love it too much. 😉
❤❤❤❤
Maybe your daughter could use the china hutch in her bedroom? Even if she took the door/doors off she might be able to put it to use. Sometimes book shelves and cabinets can be next to each other and look fine too. Just a thought. Would you have room in your bedroom for your china hutch or on a kitchen wall if your daughter denies it?
I can make a space in my craft room if this doesn't work out. It's hard having a small house when you like to hold on to everything, lol.
You have a beautiful.
Just an idea - what if you switched the little shelf that’s in the other hallway and the china cabinet???? 😉
😂my dad worked different shifts. He’s come home at 3:00am and you could hear “umpf” he ran into furniture my mom moved around. 😂
@@user-mr2eo9we3n poor David broke his pinky toe one time when he got up and I had rearranged everything. He will never let me forget it. Lol
Can't you put you China cabinet on the wall with the ladder?
I was wondering that as well
I have had a lot of suggestions to do this and unfortunantely it wouldn't work there.
I'll move the shelf for Christmas. I am definitely going to want to put my Christmas tree in front of that window.
@@MyLittleVintageHome YES!! That’s what I thought
Hi, I have a small home too. With time I have learned to use less sitting furniture as kids have grown and moved out. How can you recline sofas so close to the wall? I have same issue but I have them 8”- 10” away from the wall
So far it reclines okay. Summer has taken that spot as her own. LOL! It's challenging to change anything with such a small house.
Put the china cabinet on the other side of the door the one that’s closed
Hi Becky,
So, lots of comments about your furniture placement...I know you will make the best decisions/choices as you live with the space.
Wow
I have some fake plants mixed with my real plants. 💞
🧡💚💛
WOW, I’m in shock. I moved a bookshelf from one wall to another, and my husband threw a fit.
David doesn't care as long as I give him a heads up. I rearranged furniture one time really late at night while he was asleet and he came barrelling in that morning and broke his pinky toe on the corner of the newly moved coffee table. 😮
It looks great but where you gonna put your Christmas tree?
I’ll move it temporarily for Christmas.
