Final and battle for 3rd place is same day
FYI, other than the already wicked abbreviation of Guys Kiss Destroyers, GKD is also a commonly used Chinese netizen term. It is used when someone is very thirsty for some nsfw or 18+ anime pics and asks for more. The direct translation of the phrase is 'hurry up(exclamation mark)'. There is also another term called 'awsl' that is shown in the video. It means Ah I am dead in Chinese. It is used when someone encounters something that is of pure cuteness and gasps.
That was soooo brutal and unexpected. Gg commentating such a hard to follow game
watched that online .. really nice back'n'forth match .. storo should have gone from behind at the end .. 2 toprs would have been enough and if stalin rushed forward he would run into DM and stalin.. that was their only chance in the end
he got radar'd and probably though that stalin was gonna peek and blap him with all his guns
@@ndrtwg5350 and? It was do-or-die... Stalin has high reload and faced backwards, so I think he would've only gotten a proper back turret shot.
It was literally a decent chance to win vs no chance to win... or was storo afraid of repair costs? Kappa
It's ofc not his fault. Team was simply not good enough to coordinate their advantage. Deserved win by GKD.
Let's hope TWA beats them.

@@viniciusdesouzamaia wasn't criticising at all .. i have my fair share of experience in kots and i know it's hard to think fast under pressure .. was just sayin' what was the only way to win for RAIN in that position since commentators didn't mention it .. also if I was the one playin' I'd definitely had a kraken and won the match by far ofc

Somers just gave up at the end instead of going for the chance of victory
I thought it only happens in randoms but StorozevoiGnevni in the Somers proof us that it doesn't. If he stay alive and doesn't rush the Stalingrad, they lose. If he tries to rush the Stalin and fails, they lose. If he rushes and kill the Stalingrad but he also dies in the process, they lose. If he managed to rush and kill the Stalin and survive, they win. I don't know what was his mental process, maybe he was too nervous but i think its something you should very know very well in competitive (and thats coming from a non-competitive guy). I comms his clanmates should had been yelling at him to rush the Stalin from behind, i suppose.

@@watzyh Ohh, i see. Well, i think the team call was wrong. Even if the enemy Somers was close (something they didn't know) he still should had gone from behind because:
1- It was the shortest way and they did not have the time. Yes, if there was time, the torp would had hit the Stalin, but so does any torp launched from any angle. He could had launched torps from his spawn and could had hit him "if there was time"
The moment he hesitated and then moved forward was a waste of time because:
2) He only needed to land 1 torp, and he had (most likely) 16 torps to spare
3) Going from behind limited the amount of guns the Stalingrad could had fire at him, only the back turret (most likely). Unless he was radared from long enough to allow the Stalin to get his turrets into position.
4) By going from behind he forces the Stalin to move forward and likely to be shoot at by the cruisers on the other side, thus increasing the chances of sinking him.
It was win or die situation, it required fast reaction but in the heat of battle is understandable that he did not consider all that. Just saying that if you are losing, don't hesitate even for second to do a risky move.

Maybe, He dont know where that stalin facing, so maybe he's playing it safe, but still consider to look at the time when u're only have less than 2 minute, I'll go all out YOLO on that stalin...
Maybe, maybe not. Even if he would have killed the Stalin by going the other way, the enemy DD would instantly open fire and kill him which would also result in a loss.

Apparently RAIN didn't keep an eye on the game clock. He had no time to go around the island anyway and rushing him from left was likelier to succeed.

So was reading about GKD pulling out of the third place match and then on the forum someone had video of GKD running warpack mod which shows you the location of incoming shell. SO essentially cheating, but I don't know if these is from KOTS or from some other tournament.
At the end of your videos, I would really love to see your upgrade and captain builds especially on videos that you feature a particular ship. I have been learning a lot from your videos and thanks to you, my play has improved drastically. Keep up ther good work!

bru this reminds me of the decider duel between rngsama and maaseru back in the days when only geerings were deemed fit in KOTS.
Or the OMNI vs OM KOTS Final (forget which one, it was a few years back) where it was down to one DD, all they had to do was kill it. Had double-digit HP left and they couldn't land a single shell. It was border humping. The guy shooting at him was panic firing in the final seconds instead of trying to predict and land a solid salvo. Was heartbreaking to watch.

Ye, it's often just completely baffling when u literally have enough of an advantage to grant urself an almost guaranteed way of winning and yet u ignore it and play high-risk as if the advantage wasn't there.
That's often lack of discipline.
@@MrOP-jw1zp TBH, I would get AOBA out there, even if their name is funny. In my oppinion, they are the suprise of this KOTS season. I played against their Alpha and Bravo Team the last 2 saisons and I have to say, it was mostly very mixed constellation they had there, with a lot of bravo players, who didnt looked that good. You have to consider, that the alpha team (in the cws) had their 3 main players and MVPs in my oppinion, Yannikbbb, ALEXANDO and Psc, those guys are really good and cam carry the game, for the rest I dont know what i should think of them, that Lucarso guy and that Irer_Ivan they were trash, not only in the tournament but also in the CW Saisons

TWA was the final boss but the games before should've been better.
And talking like that about Ivan is not that cool. He's not a unicum but he's a good Teamplayer and did his best. He does not have much competitive experience. He's anything but not trash and a very kind and friendly person

Game in the final seconds, Somers goes the long way around the island...I think I would rather make a play take that chance with the game on the line than zone myself out completely.

i don't understand why RAIN didn't turn the stalin into the GKD stalin to push him south while the DD pushes north. Of course he would be giving broadside but it would have been the only chance to win the game

It's not really a very good game for E-sports is it, it's ok to play ( or was before the CV catastrophe, radar proliferation and power creep ) and can be ok to watch on twitch when one person is playing a game but team competition play is dull...
To be fair people line up to watch MOBA steams/tournaments and most MOBAs last 30-40 mins and those matches are dull and boring with only little pockets of excitement here and there and mainly only in the last 5 mins. You think this was bad, you should have been around during the smoke meta tournaments. When whole teams would just sit in smoke whole match doing fuck all. Though Flamus castings have gone a bit downhill. His older castings were far more exciting, even with stale matches.
Did everybody forget about AWSL and their history of cheating? Pretty sad to see such a team being allowed to compete in KotS.

Actually, there were a few Kurfursts and Hindenburg's in the QF's. Even a Yueyang made an appearance. Much to Flamu's commentary about it lol. But yea it was pretty much DM, Somers, Stalins and Smolensk's everywhere. Amusingly enough the latter 2 hardly made an impact most matches.

The Venezia was in almost every single QF match Flamu casted this weekend, often on both teams. Did you actually watch the matches or were you just posting out of your ass?
You also said the" Russians are just way too OP" yet in all the matches I saw the Smolensk and Stalingrad hardly ever made any real impact. Often were bullied or flat out zoned out.

For all the guys saying the somers choked: get on his level. Play a game with this much pressure and do better. Doubt you can.
In fact it is very tough luck. Had lulu survived just a bit longer that stalingrad would have been gone. It is a game of inches in the end.
He had numerous dead teammates that could have told him where the Stalingrad was aiming and to keep an eye on the clock. The fact that he threw the game is entirely on his team. Sure he might have died, but he threw away a small chance of victory for a certain defeat.
You train to work under pressure, if you fail to make a decision or make the wrong decision under pressure it's on you. When you have multiple people who could have checked you blame also falls on them.
Image your doctor tells you that the brain surgery was stressful, so your mother died. That would be unacceptable. It's his job and he fucked it up. Same goes here. One bad decision lead to a loss.
