Either that, or he can't CONSCIOUSLY mess with the humans' minds, and so ends up just straight-up deleting what he incorrectly thought was an NPC in an attempt to conserve processing power or something for the humans.

If you are still wondering about tea pots, look up the "Utah teapot", and was one of the earliest 3rd mesh models. It used to be in many of the early computer 3D graphic papers.
Given that Bubble didn’t have the censor bar over his mouth, I think whatever he said wasn’t swear words. It was either super sexually explicit, or super problematic. I’m guessing problematic, given Caine’s “Bubble…you can’t say that” The teapots were Utah’s Teapots, an in joke with 3D animators. The hands at the end were everyone but Jax, because Jax didn’t attend the funeral.
The npc thing coming back, I feel it. That closeup on Caine. I think one of the characters might not be an actual person(besides Caine and Bubble. We already knew that) Edit:basically, I think Jax is an npc from some sort of farm world who snuck into the circus and pretended to be one of the humans that got trapped here. I feel he has the most evidence to be an npc, with Kinger the other option. I’ve also seen some people think a human was deleted when falsely thought to be a npc, so that could add to that theory
The theory for either Jax or Kinger work. For Jax it would explain how he has keys to everywhere, that seems like something only Cain or Bubble should be able to do as the hosts, and for Kinger his ability to be so dissociated but without abstracting is either that he is an AI or he is so crazy that he CAN'T abstract because he just lives in the moment entirely.
T pose because that's how model character are created so its easy to see every member of the model, also the whole show is making reference to Game Developement (Glitch, t pose, AI,...).
Also, in case anyone hasn’t noticed, Zooble’s design is slightly different in this episode than in the pilot. Apparently, this going to be a running theme in the show
I would LOVE to believe its a crush, it would be very cute for pomni to have that happiness in her new life at least, but sadly glitch said there will be no shipping in this series
The teapots were just a nod to animation history. The Utah Teapot is a famous 3D model, the first 3D CGI model ever made (in 1975) without having to manually input every measurement. It's often used as a test model to this day, to check textures, lighting, or just to test rendering setups. As much as I love the speculation, I get the feeling the real answers to this show are simpler and more shallow than everyone's expecting. When they're revealed, I think a lot of theorizing fans will be disappointed 😅
I don’t think they’re people apart of a mental health aid program. If they were, they’d give them a much more understanding host than Caine, who we’ve been told doesn’t understand human emotions. Definitely still on the train that they’re potential workers, or volunteers, for C&A who had their consciousness duplicated into the game. We’re even given a trailer for the game within the first episode.
I just recently thought of this i thought maybe this is similar to the coraline movie and like- caine sees people with "sadness" and stuff and gives them a whole different world but they cant leave and he just keeps them there til they abstract and then he looks for more?
"Can't you just tag them?" I was wondering the exact same thing. Caine made the NPCs, or at least has a catalog of NPCs to pull from, so there must be a way for him to recognize them. I would also assume the NPC files differ from the player copies somehow, or at very least, they'd be stored in a different location, which would make it easier for Caine to figure out the difference.
Theory: I think the reason Jax was being so pissy in this episode, and so dead set on choosing violence, and so disappointed when that option was taken away from him, might be because he was trying to use that violence as a cathartic outlet and a way to vent his own sorrows at Kaufmo's death. This whole episode, I think, may basically be him going through the "anger" stage of grief... In which case his carefree attitude in regards to Kaufmo abstracting in the pilot could have been him going through "denial"...
My theory, which I actually believe, is that human-Pomni broke into the C&A building, which was apparently abandoned but mysteriously hadn't had the power cut off. Naturally, she decided to try the VR headset out of curiosity. I also think Jax was a programmer, internet troll, and hacker, which is how he's able to obtain keys without the other characters noticing. It's canon that they entered the Circus at different times, and Pomni is the newest; I think whatever project this was has officially (but not actually) been shut down by the time she discovers it. Also, I think Kinger was an entomology professor who was an early adopter because he hoped the VR technology could simulate exotic bugs in their natural environments, which would be fantastic for educating people about insects and how cool they are.
Someone else in the comments pointed out that games in real life usually keep their assets hidden under the map, and holy crap that made me realize that this show is GENUINELY teaching me some basic computer science. I have a math disability (yes it’s really a thing) so anything to do with numbers and “hard logic” stuff like coding, technology, computers etc. usually doesn’t come naturally to me. But this show is explaining it in a way that somehow makes sense LOL
My theory, however mad it sounds, is that Zooble is an NPC that has managed to sneak into the circus. They’re not keen on the adventures, and they seem to be hiding from Caine in this episode. Sure, maybe they just want him to leave so they can do the funeral, but it kind of looked like Zooble was actively avoiding him at the end. Zooble is also an amalgamation of different bits and pieces, possibly falling apart/glitching now that Caine isn’t actively controlling them. This theory probably isn’t true, but after what Caine said about keeping track of who is a human and who is an NPC, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of the main cast was an NPC hiding in plain sight.
I don’t believe he’s gone at all… the fact he got a plushy and they announced that ‘the full cast are now in plushie form’ basically confirms the idea he’s coming back and is very important. I think it’d just be bad writing if he doesn’t come back because of everything they set up with him.
they have known each other for one day, and went through some trauma stuff, i hope its not a crush thing atm, i think ragatha is just nervous cause Pomni had a terrible experience and she wants to help ease that a bit.
I can't wait until they show that Ragatha was the puppet master the whole time. How she created the circus as a social experiment to see how humans would interact with genuine AI.
So far, from what we know, I don't think this is any sort of purgatory or anything like that in the traditional sense. From word of god, we know that Caine is an AI who was meant to entertain humans but is in a situation he was never intended to be in (with people who can't leave) and is trying his best but doesn't actually understand human emotions. I think the way the characters each have different issues is more a symptom of them being stuck there and trying to cope. We know that the office setting Pomni passed in the pilot actually exists in the real world and she recognised it. But it looked old and abandoned. We know Caine is somehow aware of that office, since he recreated it. Considering there are no bodies laying around, that implies that either their entire bodies are somehow sucked into the program, which seems unlikely, they're actually copies of the people who put on the headsets, which has a whole lot of horrifying implications, or someone or something is messing with their memories, in which case we can't trust anything we've been told or seen.
I think Cain is pulling from the real world screen in some capacity as a result of things, so the office is where Pomni entered and he recreated it, though he doesn't know what it actually is, so it's just an office that looks like it but nothing happens with it since there is no actual exit, since he doesn't understand the concept of them actually leaving the circus like that, he's just trying his best but his comprehension of the outside world is non-existent, he can see it somehow but not understand it.
Haven't watched the video, but I just wanted to recommend Netflix's 'Green Eggs and Ham' (or at least its first season), an animated show that's WAY to great for a Dr. Suess adaptation. It has great animation, compelling character arcs, hard hitting moments, action, and great humor. For some inconceivable reason, it's not often talked about, but that's one of the great injustices of this world. I think you would like it, Mosco, and I *know* I would like watching you react to it. In any case, I hope you're doing well!
I totally love that show and it's my first time seeing a comment about it somewhere! I agree that the first season is my absolute favorite and that it could be fun to watch for anyone. Dr. Seuss also did: - The Lorax - The Grinch - Horton hears a Who Amd (I forgot the name) The cat with a hat making theater (as in fun or silly doings?)
New theory: Isn't is suspicious how our protagonists sometimes do NPC stuff? Like Gangle changes moods with her masks, and Jax has a head that is gyroscopically stable in the car chase scene. Maybe they are all AI's, just more advanced. Maybe Caines purpose is to create and test new AI renditions, until one passes the Turing Test. Only something went wrong and he is now unsupervised for decades.
Who knows if it's even decades. If this is indeed a computer simulation, it's entirely possible that this could be running on a different clock cycle. In Minecraft, an entire day passes in 40 minutes. City Skylines can progress by months per minute. The entirety of TADC Season One, could happen over the course of a single evening. If we go with the theory that these are copies, it's entirely possible that every single character added to the circus was added in a single day, with Pomni sneaking in to try on 'the weird headset' when everyone knocked off at the end of the day. If we get any revelation as to 'what' TADC's purpose is by the end of season one, it's possible that season two will start the 'next' workday in the real world, with the employee's coming in to see how their characters worked overnight.
Bubble probably said something extremly dirty. It feels like bubble is a perverse character that is expierencing frustration by being shackled by cains family friendly rules, and they take whatever they can get at all times.
The teapots in episode 2 of The Amazing Digital Circus are a CGI joke and a reference to the Utah Teapot, a 3D model used by developers to test lighting and graphics.
I've heard that hypothesis before, and I like it. If it's true, my best guess of who is Gangle. The line "aren't you supposed to be submissive and agreeable?" feels like maybe a nod to that. It would also explain why Jax seems slightly more rude towards Gangle than the rest, if he knows she's an NPC and therefore doesn't think of her as a full person.
I genuinely believe that Cain's just as in the dark as everybody else and he's just doing what he thinks is best. He was essentially made the god of this world, but he doesn't seem to have any real knowledge or insight into anything outside of it.
I wonder if the abtractions are fragments of the npcs that get deleted and are trying to reach the characters in the circus or are angry that they aren't real or something.
Fun fact about the teapots, it's called the Utah teapot, or the Newell teapot which is a 3D test model that has become a standard reference object and an in-joke within the computer graphics community and using a teapot model is considered the 3D equivalent of a "Hello, World!" program. They've been around since the 70's and have appeared i many many movies and shows like easter eggs, like Toy Story and the Simpsons for example
The thing with Ragatha, I think she's trying to be a sister to Pomni. Although if you see it differently then that's fine. (I currently do not have a favorite ship for Digital Circus)
my main theory is that jax was just a child when he first got in the circus gooseworks mentioned hes the youngest, and if theyve been in there for years, its highly possible that he was just a kid!
Gangle sounds so much like Kristen Schaal (Mabel from GF and Louise from Bob's Burgers), every time I hear them talk I have to catch myself because I'm like "LOUISE!?" 😂💀
the fact you had to fastforward the entire teapot theorizing >w< i get the feeling there omg also i think the thing with Jax is that he's trying real hard to seem like he doesn't care despite it obviously affecting him, cue him not being present at the funeral, he can't let them see his vulnerable side (also the hands in that scene i think are everyone's except Jax's and Caine's) (and Bubble's but they have no hands so yeah)
Yeeeeaaaahhhh, I preordered Gummigoo the second I saw that too, but that tells me he's not gone forever. The fact they made him a plushie and the fact we don't actually see a dead body tells me he'll come back. They don't make plushies for character that don't come back or who don't have an important role in the story....also, as SOON as he gets here he and Pomni are sitting together.
I'm looking forward to the moment when Pomni will confront Jax about his behavior (fingers crossed for a development so Jax stops being so Jax) Maybe Jax lost someone in the real world, and he ended up joining the game as a form of escapism, now he's in a fake world and doesn't care about anyone there. Prediction: at some point in the future they will return to the Candy Kingdom and the queen will be a villain.

Idk about that. This IS a Glitch show.
4:58 - Sounds like a certain someone's never seen "Meet the Demoman". Something to add to the watchlist, perhaps?
I can imagine he would put a big obvious arrow with the word "NPC" over their heads at all times just so he can be fully sure they were indeed NPCs.
I don't that Caine cares about that. Caine is an AI and he doesn't understand human emotions, so him just deleting him makes a lot more sense
Dunno if I’m just a softie or what but that bit where the hands grab Pomni hit home HARD. Instant tears
Oooh, that’s a great idea!
14:04
If that theory is confirmed, then the Digital Circus world is just a human version of Infinity Train
"i hope he can stay"
*cut to gummigoo getting obliterated*
Someone else in the comments pointed out that games in real life usually keep their assets hidden under the map, and holy crap that made me realize that this show is GENUINELY teaching me some basic computer science.
I have a math disability (yes it’s really a thing) so anything to do with numbers and “hard logic” stuff like coding, technology, computers etc. usually doesn’t come naturally to me. But this show is explaining it in a way that somehow makes sense LOL
I felt sorry for Ragatha, she is the kindest character ❤
Someone has to point out how one of the lads suddenly rested his head on Gummigoo his back at 8:05
So random 😂
My theory, however mad it sounds, is that Zooble is an NPC that has managed to sneak into the circus. They’re not keen on the adventures, and they seem to be hiding from Caine in this episode. Sure, maybe they just want him to leave so they can do the funeral, but it kind of looked like Zooble was actively avoiding him at the end.
Zooble is also an amalgamation of different bits and pieces, possibly falling apart/glitching now that Caine isn’t actively controlling them.
This theory probably isn’t true, but after what Caine said about keeping track of who is a human and who is an NPC, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of the main cast was an NPC hiding in plain sight.
cool theory. now that the funeral happened, let's see what zooble does in the next episode
Zooble has a box of infinite Zooble pieces to swap with, there's no way that their appearance is unintentional.
the fact that they introduced a beloved character to just end them immediately makes me so happy! I was not expecting that!😂
I don’t believe he’s gone at all… the fact he got a plushy and they announced that ‘the full cast are now in plushie form’ basically confirms the idea he’s coming back and is very important. I think it’d just be bad writing if he doesn’t come back because of everything they set up with him.
19:34 THANK YOU
That was literally my thought
The hands that caught Pomni from falling in her nightmare were Ragatha’s, Zooble’s and Gangle’s.
Kinger's also there, too. It's hard to see his hand since he's behind the others, and he doesn't have arms.
@@colemanholt2434 So basically, she feels like everyone here will try to help her… except Jax. She doesn’t like Jax very much, I think.
they have known each other for one day, and went through some trauma stuff, i hope its not a crush thing atm, i think ragatha is just nervous cause Pomni had a terrible experience and she wants to help ease that a bit.
18:29
Looks like Dr. Manhattan disintegrated Rorschach. Poor Gummigoo. 😢
i did a frame by frame and i saw the hands of gangle, ragatha and zooble- not sure if that means anything in particular though
I can see one of Kinger's floating gloves in there, too (though it is blurry). So it's all the other player characters except Jax.
I can't wait until they show that Ragatha was the puppet master the whole time. How she created the circus as a social experiment to see how humans would interact with genuine AI.
8:58 I think you're putting more thought into the worldbuilding than Caine did.
Mosco: Don't you dare. Glitch: We dare
Glitch, Episode 3: "Wanna see me do it again?"
@@IronDino LOL
R.I.P GUMMIGOO. And yes the mental health rehabilitation is actually a genius idea will be interesting to see the direction this show goes.
RIP gummigooner
The Aussie lad will be missed
They definitely knew what they were Gummigoo, making merch of him because they knew we'd love him!
That's what I'm trying to say! It's just a video game, not some mental heath fixing program. I get she's not a gamer, but still.
The Title: I love him already!!
Caine: I'm about to BREAK your heart!!
Anybody else think of Miss Molly from "Bump in the Night" with Ragatha?
Yeah, exactly. Wonder if that's supposed to be a hint.
Glitch has apparently said shipping won't be a thing so nothing crush related by Ragatha
Dr. Seuss also did:
- The Lorax
- The Grinch
- Horton hears a Who
Amd (I forgot the name) The cat with a hat making theater (as in fun or silly doings?)
20:15 It looks to me like he's just rolling his eyes.
The teapots in episode 2 of The Amazing Digital Circus are a CGI joke and a reference to the Utah Teapot, a 3D model used by developers to test lighting and graphics.
If Caine has trouble determining real people from NPCs, and NPCs are very intelligent, could one of the main cast be an NPC?
I've heard that hypothesis before, and I like it. If it's true, my best guess of who is Gangle. The line "aren't you supposed to be submissive and agreeable?" feels like maybe a nod to that. It would also explain why Jax seems slightly more rude towards Gangle than the rest, if he knows she's an NPC and therefore doesn't think of her as a full person.
I think it's the opposite, Caine accidentally deleted an actual player in the past
@@shadycactus7896 What if it's both? A player came through with an NPC and he deleted the player and kept the NPC?
The whole show is CLEARLY a reimagining of Alice in Wonderland and the TRUE villain is Ragatha aka THE QUEEN OF HEARTS.
You're not just an overthinker, you're an obsessive compulsive overthinker.
Also I totally called what would happen to Gummigoo. I saw it coming. But I can't wait to see him in any future episodes
I like to imagine Bubble literally just made the beep sound, and that its not a censoring effect. XP
Jax is the main villain
I genuinely believe that Cain's just as in the dark as everybody else and he's just doing what he thinks is best. He was essentially made the god of this world, but he doesn't seem to have any real knowledge or insight into anything outside of it.
Jax has a thing for keys, maybe he is trying to find a key to unlock something
(Like a exit door)
Ten to one says he was a hacker/script kiddie in the real world.
As someone who just started watching, I really hope that Gummigoo merch got bought enough to convince them to bring him back in a later episode.
my new friend got VANISHED...i have other friends that take care over me
"TAKE THAT DEPPRESION"
I wonder if the abtractions are fragments of the npcs that get deleted and are trying to reach the characters in the circus or are angry that they aren't real or something.
Fun fact about the teapots, it's called the Utah teapot, or the Newell teapot which is a 3D test model that has become a standard reference object and an in-joke within the computer graphics community and using a teapot model is considered the 3D equivalent of a "Hello, World!" program.
They've been around since the 70's and have appeared i many many movies and shows like easter eggs, like Toy Story and the Simpsons for example
We loved Gummigoo as well. I think that's why they made a plushie of him.
My wildest theory is that the creators didn't lie and Kaine is an AI, not a person. lol
what if gummigoo remembers and trys to get into the circus and becomes a villan
The thing with Ragatha, I think she's trying to be a sister to Pomni. Although if you see it differently then that's fine. (I currently do not have a favorite ship for Digital Circus)
In that case I can already imagine your furry towards Cain for what he did to GummiGoo
my main theory is that jax was just a child when he first got in the circus
gooseworks mentioned hes the youngest, and if theyve been in there for years, its highly possible that he was just a kid!
Gangle sounds so much like Kristen Schaal (Mabel from GF and Louise from Bob's Burgers), every time I hear them talk I have to catch myself because I'm like "LOUISE!?" 😂💀
16:24 you see, the thing is…I think that’s gonna become a trend
the fact you had to fastforward the entire teapot theorizing >w< i get the feeling there omg
also i think the thing with Jax is that he's trying real hard to seem like he doesn't care despite it obviously affecting him, cue him not being present at the funeral, he can't let them see his vulnerable side
(also the hands in that scene i think are everyone's except Jax's and Caine's) (and Bubble's but they have no hands so yeah)
"im gonna be upset if caine wipes them out"
uh oh...
Mosco getting emotional over the Gummiegoo plushie. 😢
The animation and textures are so well done! I wanna get gummibears now
I think we really need to watch the 3 episode too to really start to theorise.
It was mentioned by the creators that episode 3 is really "something".
Yeeeeaaaahhhh, I preordered Gummigoo the second I saw that too, but that tells me he's not gone forever. The fact they made him a plushie and the fact we don't actually see a dead body tells me he'll come back. They don't make plushies for character that don't come back or who don't have an important role in the story....also, as SOON as he gets here he and Pomni are sitting together.
tea pots were the first transmitted 3d shape.
That little Bulbasaur on your Rukia POP Figure looks familiar.. Where did you get it by chance?
I'm looking forward to the moment when Pomni will confront Jax about his behavior (fingers crossed for a development so Jax stops being so Jax)
Maybe Jax lost someone in the real world, and he ended up joining the game as a form of escapism, now he's in a fake world and doesn't care about anyone there.
Prediction: at some point in the future they will return to the Candy Kingdom and the queen will be a villain.
