I have another new set drying right now and I put the gold on when the papers were wet. I haven’t come to a final conclusion BUT I can see that the gold blends in more with the coffee/water versus being distinct circles like my originals. I’ll probably continue to do the gold after they’re dried.

I haven’t been able to confirm yet as it rained and my papers got wet. I will re do when the sun comes out and update 🙃
